  1. My repair was a surprise....coming out of surgery I was in a ton of pain and I think it was mostly due to hernia. Also had spasms for 2-3 weeks post op and had to take extra meds and had to get extra hydration at drs office once b/c of dehydration issues b/c it hurt so bad to drink anything. I found warm fluids helped....also G2 went down easily. I thought I was never going to feel better....but it all got better...just took time
  2. Carrots are not my friend.....no matter how badly I wanted those 2 baby carrots....my bell did not :-(

  3. Hubby's friends are starting to call me skinny....as in hot and skinny (said to hubby--not me!).... not there yet...but I'll take the compliment!

  4. I am 2 months out and have lost down to what the drs one year goal for me....I am at what the dr said the sleeve alone would do. I started dieting and working out the day that I started seeing the dr... I still workout and am eating the way I am supposed to. I hope to far surpass the 60% goal and dr said it was possible with me working at it.

    November 2015 Sleevers?

I was having the same issue...still do a bit...found when I went up to 2 shakes a day I had the energy to work out. I found out what I eat the day before impacts my workout the next day.
  6. ...must go to gym......

Me too!! I did a boxing class last Thursday which was fun but I am still sore 6 days later! That can't be a good sign... Good luck! Go for it! Think how much better you will feel afterwards!

  7. I was worried about the same thing and I was told my insurance only used our beginning weight b/c they wanted to see us losing and were not going to penalize us for it. Everything should have been approved prior to surgery day--this sounds way shady.
  8. Is there a good list anywhere about OTC meds that are safe post-sleeve? Of course I know NSAIDs are a no-no.... I spent all morning at the minute clinic this morning and had her check meds out before she prescribed for me...but one of them is Robitussin....I'm wondering not about the active meds...but the amount of sugar in the med. I do not want to throw up meds b/c of sugar! I went straight to minute clinic b/c I wasn't even sure where to start with meds on my own....guess it was a good think I did b/c I had Strep on top of a viral infection :-(

    Safe Meds List?

8 ish weeks out... I didn't get a list other than being told no nsaids :-/
  10. I'm obviously not doing what I need to pre-workout....b/c tonight sucked. Now I do have to preface that I walked on the treadmill for an hour before I met with my trainer...first part of trainer went well....but last 15 minutes were pure torture.... I had to tap out--I thought I was going to either puke or pass out and wasn't sure which. Any tips of what I need to make sure that I'm getting down to make sure that my workouts are meaningful. Before surgery I was already meeting with him and I was a workhorse at the gym.....it sucks to be on the other side of things. I'm 6 weeks post-op.

  13. My dr told me going back to liquids and staring over to get everything in was fine to work back to enough protien/liquids (I had gone backwards with intake after hubby had motorcycle accident and we spent almost a week in the hospital).....I upped my protein and that has really helped with getting fluids in and working back in some solid meals:-) Had the best workout ever yesterday--kicked booty :-) You are right about protien in soup....I've been checking labels too and the protien levels are not great....I found a lentil soup that had a good amount of protien, but he carbs were high :-( I'll switch my water temp and see if that helps-- I had gone to room temp b/c after surgery I couldn't drink anything that wasn't room temp or warm....but who knows--maybe my tummy can handle it again! Thanks for the tips!

    November 2015 Sleevers?

I found the more protien I get in that I lose weight more quickly.....it also make my workouts better :-) When I'm not getting enough in...I stall

    November 2015 Sleevers?

11/16 was my sleeve date--- Have lost 67lbs total so far...but that include pre-op weight loss since I began this journey back in July. Having a horrible time eating/drinking/etc. Cardio at the gym is fine, but working out with the trainer is enough to make me want to puke/pass out which sucks. I have found out though.....that one workout...either cardio or weights usually ends up a pound loss for me...seriously it is crazy and motivating! Cleared for real food, but eating makes me feel sick..... so I'm finding my go to foods still seem to be protien shakes, Soups, I really like egg drop mixed with wonton Soup....never makes me feel sick--something I didn't like before surgery. My tastes for foods have changed....energy is hit or miss, but this week has been a good week so far! My goal this year is to put myself first so that I can reach my goals and be able to be there for those that I love :-)
  18. I'm 7 weeks out from surgery---I'm thinking you guys suggestions about calorie intake could be the problem. I'm cleared for a pretty normal diet and while I try to eat real Protein (meat/cheese) I'm still doing lots of Soups and mushy foods b/c they go down better. I think I'm going to try adding a 2nd Protein Drink in each day to keep my protein up. I'm working on fluids, but they have been a real struggle (I was doing really well until hubby got into a wreck 3 weeks post-op for me--and then I messed it up pretty good and feel like I'm starting over). I am just so worried about wasting this early time away by not being in the gym hardcore and working this gift for all it is worth!
  19. Still new....but I have lost like 66 lbs so far.....which is over 50% of what I need to lose...but it is hard to see the difference in myself. Today I finally took pictures so that I could compare...it has helped a lot to see the difference! My family hadn't realized that I had changed so much b/c they see me everyday...I did something like this on an online collage maker. Maybe making your own would help
  20. If it is from standing up....totally normal--if you are on bp meds, your dr will want to adjust those....I had the same issues....last week I actually blacked out...which was scary, but I know it has to be a fluids/protein issue. Contact your dr if you're worried--you should have an appt coming up for your 1 month if I remember correctly. Dr. told me to get up more slowly...that my heart wasn't adjusting as fast as my body was changing.
  21. I haven't colored mine...talked to my hairdresser before surgery and we came back to a more natural look so that it could grow in...we have been waiting to see what mine was going to do before trying anythiing new.....I would talk to your hairdresser...they are the experts!
  22. I am 6 weeks out and was cleared for regular diet at about 4 weeks...I have tried different foods--such as beef and pork...but not until after cleared....I can still only eat a few bites. Soft mushy foods are still a better friend to my stomach than stuff I really have to chew. Be careful not to push yourself you don't want to hurt your new stomach or get back to your old habits.

    Clothes

How are you guys handling the clothing conundrum? I'm down 66ish lbs and it is at the point where my leggings are baggy...yes it is time to start clearing out some of my clothing and buy a few new pieces. I am just not even sure how to handle the clothing cost....b/c I know whatever I buy will be too big soon enough. I was thinking of continuing to buy stuff with leggings and shift type dresses where it is okay for it to be baggy...but any other tips or ideas? What are you doing without spending a ton of money? Where are you shopping? I don't even know what size I am now...I started at a 24ish.
