    Excess skin

I'm only 3 months out, but down 80 lbs...down well past my 1/2 way mark. I'm 38, and where I notice the loose skin mostly is my lower stomach----but honestly I have had a fat roll there since I was a kid and have had 3 kiddos....so I guess that is expected. I see a little under my arm, and a little on my legs....but my stomach is the only place that really bugs me now.

    Non-scale victories

My husband not recognizing me from behind....and then the exact same thing happened with my boss! She walked into my classroom and walked right back out without speaking to me and when I asked her she admitted that she didn't recognize me!
  3. When I look in the mirror.....I still see the same person I saw 83lbs ago....I can tell the difference in pictures...but not in the mirror. Is that normal?

I think the mirror is much more subjective than it seems. My weight fluctuates daily by 20 pounds, according to my mirror!

It really does take a while for your brain to catch up with your body. For me, it is the clothes that help me realize it. I have kept some of my jeans from when I weighed 310 lbs and every once in a while I try them on. I am down 142lbs and can literally fit all of me into 1 leg of my old pants. My grown sons were shocked because they say they never realized how heavy I actually was until I showed them. Now they get it!

Djmohr, I started cleaning out my closet.... I still had to try on every 3x....even though I know they don't fit.... I had to keep convincing myself. My hubby was telling me today that he never realized that I had gained that much either--that he still saw me the same as the day that we met. I think I'll keep him!

  6. I teach...have taught for a ton of years and normally have a great immune system. I had surgery mid- November and now in January I feel like my immune system is just run down--I had strep 2 weeks ago with a viral infection and now I'm feeling sick again with the same type symptoms. Anyone know if surgery can knock your immune system down? Thanks

    Long days

I had gotten my sleep under control pre-op...but post op my sleep has been horrible...even when I'm tired I can't sleep-- I think that adds to my long days...plus on bad eating days it impacts my energy. I have upped my protien intake to try to help with that. I am 2.5 months out.... 76lbs down

    Dizziness!

Yes--dr said it is just getting up to quickly and our bodies haven't adjusted...I still have it...actually blacked out once. I do know that my bp is good, but on the low side now. I'm going to ask again next week when I go in for my 3 month check.
  12. This whole having bones thing is for the birds...they hurt when you sit on them and stuff :-p hubby is tired of me making him feel my new bones lol

Ha ha ha! My hubby is always grabbing at my bones. He seriously shocked at the fact that I have them everywhere. Oh and the ass bone is the worst. I lost every ounce of fat and a lot of muscle in my rear and it hurts to sit. I am exercising my butt off trying to build bigger butt muscle. LOL!

    November 2015 Sleevers?

Mine goes up and down within 2 lbs...I doubt you ate enough to gain 2 lbs at this point

    November 2015 Sleevers?

Have you tried adding Biotin to your daily meds?
  16. Steph Anie

    November 2015 Sleevers?

I have found the more protein I get in the more I can exercise...so it is tough--I still drink most of my protein.

    Family Hurts

The thing is...you do have to eat healthy, workout, etc.....this is not the easy way out....it is still a lot of work to maintain this lifestyle. I have worked my a** off for every pound I have lost in the last 6 months...I don't see why everyone thinks this is the easy way to do it, b/c it certainly is not.
  18. I think I have issues....since surgery I am obsessed with the cooking channel/food network and the show my 600lb life.

I've been hooked on "Dr. Phil". Now I'm contemplating writing to him to ask how I can stop watching him.--and you think YOU have issues?? :)

600lb life is addictive. Skin tight is painfully addictive. I see myself and I don't want to do surgery but I may consider it. The "girls" put back where they are supposed to be - yes. The rest....I don't know....

    3. Steph Anie

      Steph Anie

I can't watch skin tight....it stresses me out lol. I like the 600 lb stories where they show life post-op for the people better...I want to know how they are doing!

  19. Walking around a moving no probs.....but drinking anything was HORRIBLE. I questioned my surgery for over a month

    From the album: Loving Life

  21. I loved having my own pjs to walk around in at the hospital...also bought some comfy slipper boot things that I used to walk around in. Chapstick was a biggie for me--i forgot it :-( I bought extra pillows for at home was glad I did.....didn't need my gas x strips.I wish early on I had kept track of my weight in a journal and taken more pics before/during the process.
  22. So thankful to be living life again....74lbs ago I wouldn't have been going on weekend adventures to play in the snow with my kiddos and climbing trails covered in snow. I love life!
