  2. My doc hates Peanut Butter but he said he's ok with me eating it when I'm ready. Has anyone tried this butter? I've never seen it and would love to get because it is very high in Protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Healthy fat is actually a good thing. Consuming healthy fat helps the fat-burning process when on a low carb diet. I lost almost 100 pounds during my six-month insurance-required pre-op diet that way, and I am following that diet post-op now as well. Low carb and low fat at the same time is a tough row to hoe. (And in my case, it historically was far less effective.) That is fantastic. Can u share a typical day post op? Still trying to get the hang of what to eat! I feel lost at times...well most of the times. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. That is fantastic!!! Congratulations! Will look for that. When is a good time for a tablespoon and what can I eat that with? HW 352 SW 336 CW 312 Sleeved on 10/24 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sleeved 11-2

I had them 1 day after surgery. I was so lucky to feel little pain I had pain medication available and I used it 4x in my 3 days at the hospital. I made myself burp a lot and some how it helped. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Isopure ready to drink?

If you can tolerated go for it! It is whey Protein based and considered the gold standard for most physicians. I tried the alpine punch ad the after taste is not so good but tolerable. I found the green tea (lemon flavor) flavor and liked it. I add a little Water to mine...in my mind it helps lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I love Big Macs and man jimmy johns BLT is one of my favs...I'm afraid to see what the carbs and calorie intake is. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. It really depends on ur team. I was able to have mushy Proteins from day 3-14, now I'm coming up on my 15th day and at that time I can have textured Protein. Eggs have been on my menu since day 3, boiled only. I quarter it because it's impossible to eat 1 in a sitting this early. Seems like my group focuses on the protein intake as quick as possible. Soft Foods

Are you not allowed to have juice? I don't think I can yet because of the sugar content and high carbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. True story...I was asked to start my liquid diet on 10/13 and so I did. My surgery was scheduled for 10/24. I had been able to hold on to the liquids and 1 high Protein meal as requested. One evening, 5 days before surgery to be exact, I couldn't do it anymore and made a choice to go straight to McDonalds! That was the worst thing I could have done at that moment. I pigged out, and when I had a sip of soda I wanted to die. At that moment, I realized that this is not for me anymore. I risked not being sleeve for a meal that would give me short satisfaction. Since that day I went back to my Protein shakes and all was well on surgery day. SW was 336, today I'm 318 (9 days later). Thankful and blessed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Soft Foods

Hi all! I was sleeved on 10/24 and I can't get over my thirst. The problem is that I want Water all the time. I try to drink 3oz at a time but by doing this I end up neglecting my Protein shakes. I'm honestly not sure that I'm getting enough protein in and I get worried. I also had a moment of weakness and had a bit of Tropicana oJ. How often do u guys eat? Can u share a typical day at this early stage? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any October 2016 Sleevers?

Quick question - have any of you heard of the Lovenox shot? Is this something that will be required prior to surgery? I've heard about this shot but not sure if it's mandatory for all sleevers.

    Any October 2016 Sleevers?

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I am so excited that after following this site for over a year, I can finally report my surgery date. I am scheduled for 10/24. I'm currently doing my pre-op liquid diet and have a few info sessions to attend. I honestly expected this part to be extremely difficult but so far these past 2 days haven't been that bad. I truly hope everything goes as smoothly as possibly. Wishing everyone who is having surgery this month, a TON of success and fast healing. Would love to hear any advise Yami

    Who Are You?

Hi, I'm Yami and i'm 34 yrs old. Congrats to everyone who has made the decision to better their health and life. It took me years to finally tell myself that this was the best for me. I'm 34 yrs old and currently weigh 340 (BMI 53). I have been on a steady weigh gain since 1999 (graduated from HS). Throughout the years I did diet but I can honestly say I never stuck with it and often tell myself, "you didn't give it your all." I recently went from 342 to 315 in 10 weeks. This diet was supervised and with medication. I wasn't feeling to jazzy when I took the medication and once I came off I gained it all back, well almost. On Sept. 30th, I decided to go to Oband and find out information about WLS. I decided to go with lap band because I've been so afraid of possible complications from the VGS. Of course, the fact that it can be reversed really had me sold. I know about 7 people in my life who all but 1 have done the sleeve. The one that did the band looks amazing after 2 years. Three sleevers have gained weight, 2 look like skeletons (with sunken eyes) 1 looks great. I wanna be healthy and look great at the same time. During my 1st visit i asked why do some people look literally dead, they said, lack of vitamins to start. So that seems like it's something I can control post surgery. During my 3rd visit, I was told I have Gallstones. They are under control so no issues. During this visit I had a moment to talk to Dr. Wizman (South Florida Doc), who by the way is AMAZING. I asked him if he had to tell me which surgery to go with, what would he recommend. He said, if it were up to me to decide for you, it would be the sleeve, considering how much weight you have to lose and your current BMI. He was very clear with me and said, i'm not here to change your mind and there is a reason why you chose the band. Do all of your research and come back to me. So here I am today, decided on VGS. After convos with friends, family and Dr. He's right. My insurance requires 6 Nutrional visits and this month will make it 4. I'm so nervous about this, i'm worried about how it will affect me long term, I tend to worry about complications but as one person told me, any surgery comes with complications, "you have had 2 C-sections." Things could have certainly gone wrong with that. Those words kind off put things perspective.

Yay! My hair is growing back!

I actually had no idea your hair could fall out. This scares me a little. How did you notice? Meaning were you washing your hair and suddenly grabbed a ton in your hand? Sorry if the question sounds silly. lol
  22. Best of luck to you, keep me posted. My friend told me the same regarding the band and she's so happy with her sleeve results thus far.

Did anyone go from band to sleeve? Hope to hear from you guys Yamii (South Florida)
