I wanted to let you know that I had surgery last night to remove the blockage and I am feeling 100% better!

Oh gosh! It was so nice to see that I am not the only one with Pre-op diet anxiety! My surgery date is on the 7th of March and I'm reducing my intake to 500 calories per day - mainly Protein and veggies as from Saturday 20th. I've been having 1000 cal per day for 4 weeks now and that was okay. But 500........ that is a challenge. But, I'm not complaining, we will do it!!!

Taking care of myself sometimes ahead of other people for the first time in my life.
Stressing myself out over other people's actions (or lack of) only helps contribute to my stress eating (which I am getting better at not doing; old habits die slowly).
I am not talking about being self-centered or a narcissist, but I don't always have to be the one who's efforts goes well above and beyond when others are doing what is most convenient for them, don't want to inconvenience themselves, don't put in their fair effort share, or their lack of planning.

I plan to have lost at least the first 100 lbs of my goal during 2016. Other than that I plan to move on to the next phase of my professional career and finalize a professional certification I've been putting off for....a multitude of reasons.
My weight has held me back from so many things; no more. Time to actually move forward and get things done I've been putting off for too long.

After the responses I got from all of you I decided to share my fears with him. He actually said that this is as much of a journey to him as it is to me and that he would be honored to be included in all my appointments.
As far as telling the kids - so far I don't think I'm ready to give them all the details yet. They just know I'm going to go for a lot of tests and that might mean surgery. For now, that's good enough.
Colleagues at work - I will not be going into details there either. I don't believe that the corporate world is nurturing or caring so this will stay my secret ????
