Just got home from the hospital! Still feeling pretty darn well, just a bit sore! I am still in awe over how well this whole thing has gone! I'm also attaching some pics to show my progress. The first is from right before my gastric sleeve when I was 262 lbs. second was from the morning of LBL and liposuction surgery at 169 lbs. Third is 2 days post op. Haven't weighed myself since surgery, and I'm still definitely swollen, but feel terrific

Thanks LisaKay! My surgeon is Dr. Stacey Folk. She practices out of Rose hospital in Denver, CO and is AMAZING! Such an incredible, kind, caring, and talented person!! Her entire staff is amazing too!! All together, the surgery, anesthesia, operating room, two night hospital stay (in a place they call "the suites" which is like a 5 star hotel) meds, garments... all works out to around $22k. Every penny worth it! I get to shower here in Just a bit so I'll get my first real look at my results and I can't wait! I am so presently
Surprised how manageable my pain and discomfort have been! I'll post pics soon! [emoji1]

I'm sitting here at 4:45 am on post op day 2. I had a circumferential body lift, and liposuction to my thighs. Everything went really well. I came out of surgery feeling great. Minimal pain. The surgery took about 6.5 hours. I've stayed in the hospital 2 nights, and the nurses and staff here have been amazing! I'm at Rose hospital in Denver Colorado. I've been taking Valium every 6 hours for muscle pain, and 2 Percocet every 4-6 hours for pain, they help a lot. When resting, I feel pretty darn good. Getting up and moving is a bit awkward and painful, but is doesn't last long. It is MUCH easier to get up from a chair than a bed. I slept like a baby last night, didn't need any meds, but when I work up this morning I was really stiff, and had a hard time rolling out of the bed. I took a walk down the hall for some coffee, took some pain meds, and am now sitting in the chair and feel good.
Most of the pain or discomfort I have is in my upper abs. Feels like I did 800,000,00 sit ups, lol. There is one little spot on my incision that burns if I move just right, but goes away quickly when I correct. My back incision hasn't given me any trouble, and that was the one I was Moat worried about!
I got a very brief look at my tummy as they checked my incision yesterday, and almost started crying. My stomach is flat. No longer flabby with the fold in the middle leadin to my perpetual muffin top. My belly button is currently covered, but everything looks beautiful. I have three drains in that exit at my pubis area. They are quite the site, and make it a little awkward when using the restroom, but very manageable!
So far the Lipo to my thighs has been fine. Mostly when I sit on the toilet I feel like I've been kicked in the behind by a horse, lol!
Well, I think that's it for now. My dream is finally coming true, and I couldn't be more happy! I'll keep you all posted on my recovery and progress!
Oh yeah...Dr. Folk removed about 7 lbs of skin and fat, and 3 liters of fat from my thighs during lipo! . Amazing!!
Stats:
Highest Wright ever 285lb
Weight at sleeve (July 28 2014) 262
Preop plastics weight: 169
Hope you all have a GREAT day!

The book is by a woman who has had a VSG. Her name is Linda Ouellette and the book is called. "Beyond the Refridgerator: Navigating Life After Weight Loss Surgery". It is eerily similar to my exact experience that I still deal with on a day to day basis. She is dead on with everything!!!!! She is act ually a Therapist as well and offers wonderful advice!!!! Everyone should have a copy of this book!!!!"

Personal preference sweetie.. I like thin/athletic men.. My current BF is 160 pounds.. My ex husband was BUILT.. AND he was a marathon runner! What you LIKE has nothing to do with what you LOOK LIKE! I am the opposite of them, but they found me attractive even though I didn't have a similar body to theirs.
For me it has nothing to do with self-loathing as some here have suggested.. I've never had a problem with the aesthetics of my weight and I've always been confident...(perhaps why I've never had a shortage in the men department???) I'm losing the weight strictly for my health. When I am thinner, I'll still like thin/athletic men.

Dpasley reacted to ava32 in Dating is Awkward
I totally agree with the hormone thing. Guys at the gym and at work who never spoke before are always trying to get my attention now. I also think it is the newfound confidence that I have.
I really appreciate the advice you've given me. I'm just gonna do me for a while. The men will be there when I'm ready. -
Dpasley reacted to ava32 in Dating is Awkward
To clarify the things I find the most awkward/frustrating about dating post op are:
*gaining attention
*receiving compliments
*general dating etiquette( figuring out how to be open but not reveal much too soon, etc)
*working through emotional/psychological issues while dating (i.e. "Does this guy really want ME?")

The only awkward thing about eating on dates is, guys don't know why I'm full after 2-3 bites. They assume I'm trying to not look like a pig and they encourage me to eat.
What they don't realize is that I probably should've stopped after the first bite and now I'm hoping I don't start burping for the rest of the night. -
Dpasley reacted to SashaJ in I need a helpful support team!
Guys I need help. I'm so ashamed. I had surgery Sept 16th but the whole process was rushed. I didn't take any of what the doctor said serious as I was just trying to have the miracle change happen quickly. I doctor hopped to speed getting under the knife and now four months out I feel like I'm grazing all day eating practically what I did prior to surgery. I literally was trying to eat a burger today! Of course I dang near killed myself to eat half but that's how stupid I've been with this whole process. I've lost some but no where near the significant amount 4 months out should have. I need a support group outside of my enabling family to help me reset my sleeve and get the weight loss I deserve. At my heaviest I was 290. I'm currently stalled at 220. I just need motivation and help getting on track with proper life changing dieting. I want to be committed and radiant by my birthday 7/7! Please help!
