  1. Hi everyone!

I was wondering can anyone tell me what the pre-op diet is for Dr. H and Dr. K in Texarkana? Is it 1 week or 2 weeks? What does it consist of? Sorry to be repetitive, I read the post earlier, but I can't find it again (I guess I am a little challenged figuring out how to navigate around these forums sometimes.)

It sounds like many of you have had great success with the band.

Also, do you Texarkana Bandsters all ever meet up with each other? I know there are meetings people can attend, but do you all ever meet up outside of the meetings? Are those meetings required?

Also, I have questions about the post-op diet Drs. H & K order? Clear Liquids is like just Water, whereas liquids in general can be anything pureed right? Just trying to get a feel for what is typical.

Sorry to bombard everyone, I am just full of questions. Since I will be a cash patient, it may be even a year or more before I can have the surgery. It seems like such a waste of time to wait, maybe I just am impatient??!!

Sorry if I am rambling here, my emotions have just been really getting at me lately! I just really want this to happen for me, and I am sad because it seems so far away, or even impossible that I can get this done. I have already prayed and asked God for a way for this to happen, I don't know why it wouldn't be in his will for me. I am praying for hope, because I know that nothing is impossible for God. Even this!

Anyway, thanks for reading everyone. I appreciate it.

  2. Hippmom, thanks so much for the info! So I guess this hubby and wife couple are experienced with the lap band procedure. That is good to know! I am thinking of calling up there. I wonder if they offer payment plans, or if I have to have the whole lump sum up front? How often do you get fills now, if you don't mind me asking?

  3. Dee-Jay,

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. I will look into journeylite.com. Did you say your surgery was only $1500.00, or $15,000? I haven't seen anyone with that low of a price, and free fills for life? Hmmm, definitely worth checking into. Thanks for the info. If you don't mind me asking...How long ago were you banded and how has your post-op been?

  4. Dawn,

Thanks so much for your reply! Did you go to the seminar at Wadley hospital? If so, how did it go? I am thinking about going to the seminar myself there. SO you are almost to your band date huh? Wow, I am sure you are so excited, I know I would be! Definitely keep me posted, as the doc you suggested may be who I wind up going to. Talk to you soon! Thanks again Dawn!

  5. Hi again. I know there are tons of people in here from Texas, and just wanted to hear anything from those in my state. I live in North East Texas- east of Dallas. It looks like I will be self-pay, and was wondering if any self- payers around my region was given a really great price, or wanted to share who their doctor was? Thank you.:welldoneclap:

  6. Hi everyone,

I just started this process also. I have just joined on here a few days ago and have started reading all the information, it really is alot to take in! I am 28 years old, 260 ish pounds, and 5'4'. This is the heaviest I have ever been, and I know I need a change! I think lapband is the right choice for me, but who knows how long it will take for me to save up the money since I am sure I will be a self-paying (cash) patient. I am asking for everyone who believes in prayer to pray with me for a way for this procedure to happen.

Everyone seems very helpful on here, and I am looking for some great advice from people who have already been banded. Hopefully we can all go through this journey together!

  9. Hi everyone. Like I said in my first post, I am still new to all this, and I have a question. What are fills and how are they performed? Is it a whole new surgery or basically just an injection?

Also, I am pretty sure I am going to have to be a self-pay patient, so are there any other self-payers who may have advice, suggestions, or comments?

I live in north-east Texas, can anyone recommend a doctor they used?

    Thanks to all.

  10. Hi everyone. I am interested in getting the lap band surgery, and just recently started researching the whole procedure. I am not sure what all to ask, so I have just been reviewing over what all the members here have said so far. Anything anyone wants to share about the surgery, or their results, I would appreciate. Thanks.
