  1. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am looking specifically for a group of people to chat with who are at a minimum 1 year or more out from gastric bypass or band to bypass. Seems we have a ton of newbies (which is awesome), but looking to hear from those out further in their journey. Currently in a major stall, working on focusing food intake as the key source of my stall. Pretty demotivated but no major weight gain. Been on this weight loss journey for so many years (2007 lap/2015 rev to GB). Is there anyone out there like me?

    Best Quest bar flavor

My opinion is that Quest Nutrition is by far the best value and tasting Protein shakes, bars, chips, etc. I do have to say however, I am NOT a sweet tooth kinda gal, so things can taste super sweet to me. I have tried the Salty Carmel Protein Shakes, and wow - - talk about flavor. I have a hard time with drinking that on it's own...however, I can use this protein as my coffee creamer! The chocolate Chip Cookie and Cookie Dough are awesome. I love quest and I will be excited to use the ALL PURPOSE protein in meals. I am a 100% lover of Quest Nutrition. P.S. The high amounts of protein DOES NOT GIVE ME "loose poop" issues like a lot of the protein shakes, items do. PPSS - THE CHIPS are awesome and can be used as a crust for chicken or string cheese sticks...yum.
  3. Hi Everyone! So, I saw my nut recently and I meant to ask her about the carb guidelines as far as how many carbs I should be having a day. Does anyone have guidelines they follow that works? I am getting about 60+ grams protein/'day, plenty of Water, but what about the carbs. Let me know if you have any info. Thanks everyone.
  4. First -- CONGRATs on the awesome weight loss. I noticed you are also a "tall" girl like me -- I would like to know more about how you work your food, fitness, you seem to be a great person as a mentor. Second - SO sorry to hear you lost your job. That does suck, but severance and unemployment will keep you going for a while. Take that time to determine if this is a time for any additional changes (i.e. career, etc.). I too lost my job, but 23 days prior to my surgery, thank the stars, upon the seperation, they told me insurance would continue through 11/30, surgery was on 11/23, and so far (fingers and toes crossed) no issues. Trying to focus on NSVs is the best for you right now. Where there is change around us, sometimes it helps to embrace and see what the next chapter in our lives has instore for us. Katie T
  5. Thnks for your post, I thought I was the only one I take chewable Vitamin and gage each time, but doesn't cause nausea. I will go to a pill again once my Dr says okay. I also take a b-12, but it's liquid and I love it (natures best) Finally I take a Calcium - chewable - taste like a piece of chocolate -- love it I'm only two weeks out and LOVE this site. Keep the info coming those of you who have been "through it". Thanks Everyone!
  6. DAR200 does is cause u diahrea? Sometimes that much Protein can do that to me..
  7. I had the band to gastric surgery on 11/23. I am about ready to scream....enough with these horribly sweet drinks. Where do u all get Premier Protein?
  8. Revised this past Monday from lap band (2007). Doing well, more pain from them digging g at the port due to scaring, but overall okay. Hopefully the time will pass fast for your surgery date.
