So now I don't know what to eat my diet is not great. I drink coconut Water because I find Water so difficult to swallow. I also only eat fish as I find meat very heavy. So I live on fruit yoghurt eggs and wafers. I am also suffering with dumping often but think this is related to the medication I have been on. As you see I need help on my diet.. I have always been hopeless at diets and never stick to them. Hence the gastric sleeve.

I have been so ill since my gastric sleeve in February. I ended up with a chronic chest infection which went on for months. My diet has been dreadful because I never really looked at it. I took my last antibiotic last week and slowly building myself back up.

Congratulations you will not know yourself in a few months. I am from Brisbane. My starting weight was 110kg now 88kg. I found it difficult in the first few weeks keeping to liquids and soft foods. I missed chewing I think. One mistake I made when I went onto a normal diet was to try and eat steak! Easier to eat mince!
Also you might feel a little tired. I couldn't drink Water and still can't ( I used to drink it before the surgery) I now drink a litre of coconut Water per day plus herbal teas to keep hydrated. I still have issues with portion sizes. If I eat out I no longer order a main I order an entree size as my main. Can't fit it in! So I tend to eat a little off my family's plates like I am a child.. Anyway, you will be fine and in a few months the operation will be so far behind you. At 8 months post I am very happy with my energy levels. It's just the exercising now..good luck with your op

My weight kept going up didn't matter what I did.
I didn't want to get sick with a stroke or diabetes
I wanted to run and play with my grandchildren not be the fat granny that my husband pushed around in a wheelchair
In retirement I would like to go hiking with my husband
Get my Hashimotos disease under control with weight loss
    No more aches and pains

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Still battling along seeing chest specialist next week. It's quite strange with food my first two weeks I was hungry well now I think it was head hunger! This week I am not hungry at all and am not interested in any food at all. I have also upped my Water intake almost to 2 litres now. I have to force myself to eat though! Has anyone else had this?

I was sleeved on the 9th of February. I caught a chest infection in hospital so my weight loss has been slow because I had to stop all my meds and just swallow the antibiotics which also gave me bad bowels! Anyway had the last of the antibiotics yesterday.. Started back on my usual meds particularly the nexium for reflux.
I am really not hungry at all and have to force myself to eat anything. Start on real food on Monday.. That will be so good.. I can have scrambled eggs! Yay!!
I have lost 7.4 kg so far only another 22.5 to go!

Another question my NUT has me on shakes and Soup nothing heavier than Greek yoghurt. My DD has made me lots of chicken soup which has agreed with me. I think I can add a little Pasta to the soup. Whizzed up of course does anyone else know about food? I don't know if I am head hungry or hungry. So thought I would add some more calories. I am drinking yoghurt no problems. Taking maxalon so I stop feeling sick. sleeping well my chest infection keeps me up each day the bough is getting better.
Not sure when I can try a poached egg or scrambled eggs? I know it's only 6 days but my NUT gave me a very confusing list including veges etc. I read one message where someone just put in the blender what the family was eating and watered it down! lol.. This sounds like an easy solution! As for sleeping if I try and stay still it's fine! lol.. Each day I do try doing a bit more walked for 10minutes today around the house 6 times! lol

I have had a bit of pain roll on your side and push up with your arms then swing your legs over the edge of the bed to get in and out. I also sleep with a small pillow between my legs ( it personal) but it takes the pressure off your tummy and back ache to. A bit mean by other groups telling you to suck it up! Great you found this new group.. All going through and growing thinner together!

Oh isn't hospital just awful no sleep! Today is day 6 and apart from a headache starting to feel much better still coughing but much much better thank goodness for antibiotics. The flatulence has left the building! Well I think so! Wow that was something else???? So now I have just a headache and trying to keep Fluid supply up and keeping Protein down.
I have never been so focused on a diet like this ever and I've been on a few lol.. I think it's the fluid intake. So it's true it gets better as you go on..

Don't give up You are doing everything correctly. I agree with a few of the others go back to your Doc and Nut they are your best friends on this journey. It could be that your auto immune system is playing up. I have Hashimotos and was sleeved on Tuesday when I came home I was 6lbs heavier! So I will see if I loose weight to. My Doc told me it would be slower than others because of this disease. Always disheartening to hear this! Damn disease! He has told me to exercise each day when I am well enough So I bought a fit bit and intend to try to get 10000 steps each day. Well that's my goal. Keep my Water up and only put in my mouth nutritionally dense food.. Protein first.. So if you eat out just scrap the cheese off the pizza one slice and eat that. No carbs. The sleeve is just a tool so we still have to diet but its just not so difficult with hunger pains.. Plus we eat protein first. I am staying positive and you will to..

Reading everyone's journey is great. It reconfirmed that I am doing this for me and my future. I have had great concern from my family on my side.. I think because they are all like me ( obese) I have had a bit of negativity. About what will I do when I can't eat anymore. I can't wait not to think about food anymore and actually enjoy dinner conversation. Not what I will eat next! I am sure I will be extremely happy..
