  1. Hey there! I know this post is a little older but it caught my eye with your doctor. I am with this practice also and see Dr Eid. I will be having the RNY also at West Penn. where are you located? I'm in McMurray pa. Small world????
  2. I'm in Pittsburgh also. McMurray Pa planned for the sleeve but being told probably bypass
  3. I'm due to get bypass in hopefully April. Waiting for some tests and the doctors decision then we move from there. I too live in Pittsburgh. Where about are you? I'm in the south hills. McMurray. Don't be so hard on yourself. Stalls happen. Not from anything your doing. It's just part of it all. Hang in there????
  4. I'm expected to get my surgery in April or May. I started in November. I found out my scope test said I have the starts of Barrett's and reflux even though I have no symptoms. I had full intentions on the sleeve until then. Now I'm being told I'm most likely getting bypass. You are welcome to tag along with me during your journey. It feels like forever but it goes fast. Good luck to you!
  5. Hi Gaintheworld! Sounds like your doing really well. Even tho you feel your loss is slow. Did you have bypass or sleeve? You lost quite a bit prior to surgery. Good for you. I wish you luck! We're all here to cheer you and each other on! I'm always around if you need to talk. How are you feeling?
  6. It will all work out tho. I do know the faster you lose the more chance you have with your hair to fall out! I had that happen from an elbow surgery a couple years ago. I guess the trauma I went thru and all the meds. My hair was faking out big time! Slow and steady ????
  7. Wishing you good luck in your journey ACV!
  8. Hi there! I went onto a website last night called obesity coverage.com and it allowed me to put in my weight and height. It gave me what I would lose with both bypass and the sleeve. It was pretty cool. Your surgery is coming up!!! So your going to go ahead with the bypass then cause of the Barrett's. I will meet my doc next month. I was hoping for better news myself at this past visit but... Where are you from Loriann?
  9. Good luck everyone!!!
  10. Good luck to you!!! Your close to me! I hope you get your date soon!!! How long have you been waiting? Where are you located?
  11. im in roughly the same boat.... Only add 12 years. Me too! In 49!
  12. RNYGal I am over half way. I had my 4th visit last week. I still have my stress and echocardiogram to get done then I'm complete. My doctor requires all this stuff. My insurance is Tricare and only requires a psych eval and a documented failed diet from your past. I just found out about my acid issues which I still argue cause I feel perfectly fine. I also have some thyroid issues with my numbers being major high so they put me on meds and now it's too low lol. Craziness! I am hoping for an April surgery Oh and I'm located in the south hills of Pittsburgh. Area called McMurray Pa
  13. Glad you talked to your doc. Hope it helps!
  14. Yikes your far from me! I've been hearing this a lot recently. Never really did before. Looks like I'll also be a RNY girl too! I'm near Hermitage PA. Also, I will be getting Gastric bypass. Even though lately I have been leaning towards the sleeve. But, I read and heard it you get bad GERD with that.
  15. Also do you or can you take potassium tablets? Your probably dehydrated and low on potassium. That is a horrible feeling. I hope you feel better soon
  16. I absolutely love your story! You are a whole new person because of this surgery! Yay for you!!! And congrats on your almost goal weight loss! So exciting! I can't believe it helped you this much! I will definitely look more into this procedure. Unlike you, I don't have symptoms. At all! I was shocked when she told me the news. I mean there are moments I take a tums but nothing to complain about. I do have the start of Barrets esophagus and that really concerns me. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me!
  17. Thanks so much justright66! I'm thinking so too! Sounds like the smartest move. I was shocked when I got my report. I have no symptoms! Have you had the procedure yet yourself?
  18. Hi losetobemeagain! Thanks so much for your story. I'm sorry you are having difficulty. It seems as if you don't have this problem prior you can get it and if you have it prior your better off not getting the sleeve. Maybe you are right and I should just go the bypass way. I too have read about alot of revisions. I'm sorry you have to be one of them. Good luck to you and please keep me posted on your update! I'd love to hear how your doing
  19. Thank you so much for the insight and sharing your story. Sounds like you made the right choice for you. Good luck to you!
  20. Ok new me! I got it finally!!! I subscribed also!!!???? I'm at work but I'll watch it when I get a slow moment.
  21. Hi! Is there anyone else out there that doesn't have a lot of weight to lose? I am only 5' and weigh 197 right now. I've lost some since starting out and was planning to get the sleeve all along until yesterday at my 4th visit and my PA informed me about my scope results. She said I have some reflux (which I had no idea) and I have the start of barrets esophagus so she is stating I will most likely need bypass instead. Anyone else out there in the same or close situation as me?
  22. I have about 75 pounds to lose
  23. That's so exciting! I hope you get your call soon!!!????
  24. I wish you the best!!! What surgery are you having done? Are you up near Slippery Rock?
