Wow congratulations! That's super exciting news! That's huge! I'm so happy for you. Your family is going to love watching your transformation! So nice they're are on board with you. My family also. I have a husband 2 kids and my mom all know. They are all supporting me. My daughter says I should just go to the guy since I don't have a whole lot to lose but she doesn't understand how hard it is to stay away and not eat a whole sleeve or girlscout cookies! I'm 193 right now so I'm lucky I'm not as heavy as some people but I'm only 5' and my bones are brittle from all the lower weight I carry from my hips down. A lot of strain. Right now my foot is fractured cause of my weight. I wanted the sleeve. It can't have it so RNY it is

Good luck to you! Are you having difficulty with acids? Is that why your having the changeover? I'm scheduled the 26th. Wanted the sleeve this whole time till they found damage from acids

Oh my! Are you able to be off it that long without problems? Did they tell you why? Congratulations on your June date! I wanted to be sleeved but found out I can't due to acids ???? I'm a dead give away when it comes to my moods! A blotchy chest every time I'm mad, nervous or upset! Glad there's someone else out there like me????

I too am having the same exact procedures as you did. Mine is schedule for April 26th and I'm so scared. I too take a long time to heal from things and pain meds don't hardly work on me. I'm sorry your going though so much difficulty and pain. Maybe you just are one of those that will need some extra time. Have you spoken with your surgeon about it?

@@gethealthy I would question your surgeon about the sleeve if you have acid. I too have the silent bad kind and the starts if Barrett's esophagus from it and was told the sleeve will continue to make it worse. I too wanted the sleeve and mentally prepared for it intil my last 6 mo visit where he discovers these finding on my report and said he strongly suggests the RNY due to the acids. Ultimately my decision but that's what he advised. I took his advice and am scheduled for bypass April 26th

It went really well shrinking limber! I was pretty nervous for a bit. Even had some hives on my chest lol. I have a 7 day liquid diet but am allowed up to 4 protein drinks a day. I can still have a cup of coffee so no one will die around me lol???? Where are you at this point?

Yep I know all about the liver shrinking stage. Some docs do it and some don't at all. Some for 1 day and some for 3 weeks! Crazy! I go today for my preop apt. I'll find out today how long he wants me to do mine. I'm thinking 2 weeks. I talked to another girl who had the same surgeon. Good luck to you!!

I will be having a hiatal hernia repair along with RNY on April 26th. Not looking forward to all of this[emoji17]

I've never heard of this preop before. The fish I'm sure is so you get vitamins and protein in also. Good source. Your day is coming up soon! I wish you the best!

I'm getting RNY and hoping for 4 weeks off. I work front end at a medical facility.

I sure hope this helps you this time and you feel good inside and out. I'm anxious to hear how everything goes for you!!! I've only told a few people myself! I just don't want to hear all the negative talk or the input they have. I'd rather just not hear anything. Even the one I told were like eh really your doing that. Do you really want to. So I'm like I'm done! All to myself from this point. Neat your a sign language interpreter! I always said I wished I knew sign language! If we lived near each other you could teach me some things????

Your sweet for saying that. Thank you. I try my best to be a good animal mom. My husband will be able to help he just doesn't know how to do it. He tries then I end up having to cause he just can't get it. Takes a while to "get it" he just can't. I will have him keep trying. I may have him put him up on a table so I can still do it. I'm just worried about the 2 days I won't be home. I'm sure all will be ok. That stinks that you have to go to another city to have your surgery. Can a friend go down with you and spend at least a few hours with you?
