    Need fill doc in SC

I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. I'll be having surgery in Mexico on Apr. 22. Does anyone know of any doctors that will do fills and follow-up care in the Myrtle Beach area, hopefully within an hour or two? There's a Fills USA in NC but it's about four hours away from where I live. Thank you for any suggestions you can make!

    Need fill doc in SC

Yes, I found a bariatric doc in the Myrtle Beach, SC area that would do my fills. Dr. Balder of Advanced Surgical Associates in Conway, SC (about a half an hour from Myrtle Beach) has been doing my fills. It has been a good experience. Good luck!
  3. I had lap-band surgery about four weeks ago. I'm back to eating fairly normally again with some exceptions. I was wondering if it's OK for me to start taking Actonel (for thinning of the bones) again? Does anyone take Actonel? If so, how soon did you resume taking it after your surgery? I'm a little nervous about it because Actonel is kind of hard on the stomach. Thank you!

  6. I will be having surgery on Apr 22 in Mexico. Does anyone have experience with getting a loan for surgery in Mexico? What kind of interest rates are being charged? Was it difficult to get the loan? What financing company did you go with? Thank you!

  9. I'm scheduled for surgery on Apr 22. I'm single and won't have anyone to run errands for me when I get home, so I want to be prepared. Does anyone have any suggestions for items I will need to have on hand for the first week or two post op? Thanks!

I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Rodriguez in Juarez on Apr. 22. I saw your post that he was your surgeon. How did it go? Were you happy with the experience?

    please no DR HAUCUZ

Just wondering how these people actually managed to weigh less than their goal weight. That seems like a major accomplishment to me. I want to find out how they did it. Do you have any good advice for me? I'm scheduled for sugery on Apr 22.

    please no DR HAUCUZ

You are below your goal weight. That's awesome! I love to see that! There's hope for me, too. To what do you attribute your amazing success in losing the weight? Thank you!
  13. I am allergic to most artificial sweeteners. Are there any protein drinks that don't contain artificial sweeteners? Thank you!

    Pre-banding Feed Frenzy....

My surgery is scheduled for Apr 22 and I find I'm already starting to overeat in anticipation. I guess it's a last hurrah before I have to get serious. It doesn't make much sense really, but I feel the same thing coming on. You're not alone!
  16. I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm seriously considering having the lap band surgery done in Mexico because it is less expensive and less red-tape, documentation, etc. I will be a self-pay patient. My question is: are doctors in the U.S. cooperative concerning follow-up care such as fills if you have the procedure done in Mexico? I'm finding that my family and friends are not happy that I am thinking of going to Mexico for the procedure and have told me that I must be crazy to even consider it. Those of you who are experienced, is there anything else I need to be aware of before making arrangements to have the surgery done in Mexico? Is there anything I need to be aware of or concerned about? Thank you!

I dont see the me that is in the mirror?

I have the same problem, only in reverse. I haven't had my surgery yet and my brain thinks I look OK. When I see actual photos of the way I look now (about 70 lbs. overweight), I can't stand it. I hate having photos taken these days. I'm going to have surgery and then I'll enjoy having my picture taken again. Thank you for the inspiration. You look wonderful!
