  1. I live in Poughkeepsie and was sleeved on 12/3/15. Is there anyone else nearby who also has or will have the sleeve?
  2. I stopped losing weight a few weeks ago. I guess I need to join the gym again. Sigh. I hate exercising.
  3. @@FocusOnMeNow I love the chips, hate the bars! LOL how everyone's taste is different. Have you tried PowerCrunch bars? So tasty!

What Are Your Fast Food Faves?

I like Burger King's grilled chicken burger with a bit of ketchup, lettuce and pickles. The entire burger is 16g Protein 2g carbs 11g fat.

    Hair loss

I've been taking Biotin since before my surgery, and I'm getting more than the recommended amount of Protein every day, but about 3.5 months after my surgery my hair started falling out like it never has before. I have curly hair that needs to be detangled and am losing handfuls a day. I scheduled an appointment with my stylist to get it cut so I don't need to detangle so much.

    Water - it really works

I had one about 2 years ago from high oxalic acid. I was told by my urologist to drink Crystal lite brand lemonade since they add extra citrate to it, which helps break down my type of stone. Believe it or not, what I think helped lead to my stone was drinking a lot of non-sugar iced tea. Tea has a lot of oxalates. So I've quit the tea and moved on to lemonade and orange flavored Water.
  10. I've lost 90 lbs, and only in the past 2-3 weeks have I noticed an actual change in my appearance and how my clothing fits. But, I have about 150 left to lose. I started big. I do still feel fat. My back doesn't hurt all the time anymore, and it's easier for me to fit on small furniture and to get up from a deep couch. Little victories all the time!
  11. I'm now 12 weeks out and my loss has slowed. Maybe I'm not exercising enough?
  12. My roommates and I are having a party for St. Patrick's day/ my birthday, and I want to make a dish I and my significant other can eat. She can't have any dairy. I've been looking at recipes, but I can't find anything to make that both she and I can eat. (Someone else is already making corned beef). Help!
  13. I'm three months out. I like meatballs! I make them with turkey.

    Pizza

The dough ball that forms in your stomach? The outside nutritionist I saw mentioned that to me pre-surgery, and I swear it's the only thing that's helped when I really really crave carbs. So, I choose to believe!

    Favorite Greek Yogurt

For plain I like Fage 0%, it's very thick like sour cream; flavors I like Oikos triple zero they just came out with a few new ones like chocolate and salted caramel, the peach is great too.
  17. I lost 30 lbs my first month and only a few my second month. My nutritionist told me if I kept losing at the rate of a pound a day, I'd become malnourished. Our bodies need time to catch up, and I personally have noticed that when I'm not losing weight I am losing inches! I don't measure, but my clothing and body are telling the signs.

    Non-scale victories

I realized yesterday that I fit comfortably in the chairs at a doctor's office. No getting stuck anymore! That was always so embarrassing and painful. I have only lost a very few pounds in the past few weeks, but obviously my body has been shifting and shrinking. I can also no longer keep up 2 of my largest pair of pants. It took 75 lbs, but my clothes are finally starting to fall off!
  19. My stomach can't handle anything remotely hot/spicy. I tried to make pancakes with coconut flour, eggs and bananas and was miserable for quite some time. I think it was the bananas. I've been extremely lucky, I'm 10 weeks out and I haven't barfed since leaving the hospital!
  20. I'm 9 weeks out and it takes me 30-60 minutes.

    Need a Healthy Snack

I found two brands of Protein bars that I really like the taste of. Lucky me, there's a nutrition store (mostly jock stuff, but I can find stuff for me too) around the corner from my house. Think Thin- make sure you get the high Protein Bar, there are several flavors. They are around 20g protein, 0g sugar, but watch the carbs. Also look for OhYeah! One brand. They contain one gram of sugar per bar, around 20g protein, and again, watch your carbs- but super yummy flavors, and great texture.

    Need a Healthy Snack

My new favorite snack is a few mushrooms. I eat the stems, then put a dab of low-fat swiss wedge cheese in the center and eat the cap.

    Embrace the Stall

My stall has lasted for a month now. In the first month after surgery I lost about 30 lbs, in the second month I lost about 5 lbs. So, I made a phone appointment with my nutritionist for the end of this week.
  24. I was sleeved on 12/3, starting weight 410, surgery weight 381, current weight 345. Most of that weight was lost in the first month, I've been stalled for about a month now! I'm afraid I'm eating too much - about 1,000 calories a day - but I'm hungry. I'm working with a therapist and an eating disorders group, I'm going to the gym (and hating every minute of it) at least twice a week. I have scheduled a phone appointment with my NUT to try and break the stall or figure it out at least. I'm starting to get a bit discouraged. Good news is, I am starting to notice changes in my body and others are too!
  25. I'm 9 weeks post- surgery. My doctor told me no strength or weight training. I'm walking about 3,000-5,000 steps per day and I go to the gym 2-3 times per week and get on the treadmill and walk. My body doesn't like the elliptical or other machines (yet?) and I'm hating every minute of it, but I'm going, because I need to. I wish I had the motivation to do more. PF is the only gym I can afford right now, but it works.
