  1. I've been taking Biotin since before my surgery, and I'm getting more than the recommended amount of Protein every day, but about 3.5 months after my surgery my hair started falling out like it never has before. I have curly hair that needs to be detangled and am losing handfuls a day. I scheduled an appointment with my stylist to get it cut so I don't need to detangle so much. :(

  2. I had one about 2 years ago from high oxalic acid. I was told by my urologist to drink Crystal lite brand lemonade since they add extra citrate to it, which helps break down my type of stone.

Believe it or not, what I think helped lead to my stone was drinking a lot of non-sugar iced tea. Tea has a lot of oxalates. So I've quit the tea and moved on to lemonade and orange flavored Water.

  3. I've lost 90 lbs, and only in the past 2-3 weeks have I noticed an actual change in my appearance and how my clothing fits. But, I have about 150 left to lose. I started big. I do still feel fat. My back doesn't hurt all the time anymore, and it's easier for me to fit on small furniture and to get up from a deep couch. Little victories all the time!

  4. I realized yesterday that I fit comfortably in the chairs at a doctor's office. No getting stuck anymore! That was always so embarrassing and painful.

I have only lost a very few pounds in the past few weeks, but obviously my body has been shifting and shrinking.

I can also no longer keep up 2 of my largest pair of pants. It took 75 lbs, but my clothes are finally starting to fall off!

  5. I found two brands of Protein bars that I really like the taste of. Lucky me, there's a nutrition store (mostly jock stuff, but I can find stuff for me too) around the corner from my house. Think Thin- make sure you get the high Protein Bar, there are several flavors. They are around 20g Protein, 0g sugar, but watch the carbs. Also look for OhYeah! One brand. They contain one gram of sugar per bar, around 20g protein, and again, watch your carbs- but super yummy flavors, and great texture.

  6. I was sleeved on 12/3, starting weight 410, surgery weight 381, current weight 345. Most of that weight was lost in the first month, I've been stalled for about a month now! I'm afraid I'm eating too much - about 1,000 calories a day - but I'm hungry. I'm working with a therapist and an eating disorders group, I'm going to the gym (and hating every minute of it) at least twice a week.

I have scheduled a phone appointment with my NUT to try and break the stall or figure it out at least. I'm starting to get a bit discouraged.

Good news is, I am starting to notice changes in my body and others are too!

  7. I'm 9 weeks post- surgery. My doctor told me no strength or weight training. I'm walking about 3,000-5,000 steps per day and I go to the gym 2-3 times per week and get on the treadmill and walk. My body doesn't like the elliptical or other machines (yet?) and I'm hating every minute of it, but I'm going, because I need to. I wish I had the motivation to do more. PF is the only gym I can afford right now, but it works.

  8. I'm similar to @@Babbs above. I log sporadically. If I feel I'm losing control or losing track I start logging again. I use MFP and I weigh/measure all of my meals unless I eat out. If I don't know the nutritional value of a food I'll input it to check/guesstimate. And this may be lazy of me, but even if I do log, it's usually just Breakfast, Snacks and lunch. I want to make sure I'm up on my Protein and not getting too much of anything else in.
