@@steph_anie I have had the same kind of issue with a good friend. She hasn't had surgery, but has been easing back on her exercise routines and not eating very well. The closer I get to her weight it seems the worse I look to her. I think it is jealousy. I just pretty much ignore those comments and try to steer the subject to something else. Not sure how she will take it when I weigh less than her.
Just either ignore her or end the relationship. You have worked to hard to let other people bring you down. This seems to be a fairly common phenomena based on other threads I have seen on here. As long as you are not underweight on the BMI table and you feel good you should just stay on your current path.

I have people telling me all the time now when I tell them I have 20 more lbs to go, oh no you will look too thin! I don't think at 5'5" 150 (in 20 less lbs. 170 now) I will be too thin. Maybe they are trying to compliment me & saying I look great now but it does make you wonder. I'm not trying to be 125 like was in high school, or 135 at 40. I'm 60 now & don't mind keeping a little weight on. So 150-155 I think I will be fine.

Hey all, almost to that 6 month mark!! [emoji51]
I feel like I have failed.. I did so great at the beginning followed the diet and exercise routine to a T.. But even right after surgery I was hungry, my hunger never went away and the restriction that everyone talks about just isn't there for me.. I had a 6inch subway chicken breast sandwich for lunch and besides some of the excess bread I can eat the whole thing no problem.. I never get that "full" feeling that most people talk about and I can eat sugary foods and greasy foods without any stomach upset.. I wish I would just get dumping! Right after the surgery I even asked my Dr if he actually did the surgery and still 6 months later I wonder the same thing.. If it wasn't for the weight loss I have had I would want my money back for him leaving my full stomach in there Lol... Surgery was October 14th SW 218 CW 153.. The last month weight loss is a very slow crawl..
I can relate to all the people who say they still feel fat.. I feel huge and squishy as well! People see me and tell me how "tiny" I am yet me and that word do not go together.. I still feel like the fat girl who wants to hide.. This has got to be more of a mental thing since I can now wear a size 7, I should be happy with that..right? And my ARMs ugh! Even in a small/medium top I don't think I can ever wear a short sleeved shirt.. I keep waiting for the day my mind will catch up with my body.. Maybe then I won't feel so negative about me..
But on another note.. My Hair loss, although still occurring it has lightened a little!
Sorry for the long rant that's all over the place..
I guess just because I can eat more than anyone I have talked to that has had this surgery doesn't mean I should.. But most people who have had this surgery don't get hungry but mine never skipped a beat.. I have started trying to drink a gallon of Water a day.. Hopefully this will help with my hunger... I'm on day two- so I'll let you know how things go!
You all have been such a huge help in not feeling so alone since I chose not to tell anyone about my surgery other than my husband.. So for that I THANK YOU!!!

Well I went to my 6 month check up today. 177 yea. They go buy % of what you have lost.. They said they liked their patients to be at 50% at 6 months of their weight loss since surgery. I'm at 65% so they were very pleased with my progress. I don't go back until its a year. They said I should have no problem getting to my goal of 150 by then, especially if I would get back to my walking, I told them I had been slacking off! Anyway hope you all have good reports at your 6 month!

Good luck! I haven't posted In a while. I had surgery on October 15, 2015 so I am about 5 months post op. Highest weight 289. Surgery weight 280. Current weight 214 and still losing about 2lbs a week. My goal is 200-205, so I am not far off and haven't been to my 6 month checkup yet. (I do understand that my goal is less than most others so I take that into consideration). I got worried because I wasn't eating much at all, but my surgeon said to try to increase calories. Also I hadn't been running at all in the last 2 months because I had leg pain but the weight keep coming off, just slower. I'm walking again before I start running since daylight savings time changed I can get it in. I often don't know what to eat. It's funny, but I can't just eat something because it's there. I get hunger pains, but even then I don't really want to eat. I'm happy with the weight loss. I'm ecstatic about the lifestyle change. I eat to live....I no longer live to eat. This was the hardest thing I had done in my life and it was not easy. Challenges continue and will forever. But the process has taught me that you can be in control of your life. @@60&goin4it I must applaud your kindness and updates about your progress. You are the glue that keeps everyone together. Hey guys! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I'm at 163. Total of 62lbs lost and 43 more to go till I reach my goal weight. I've had struggles and stalls but trying to stay motivated. Really hard with schedule to get enough exercise in. And to remember to take my Vitamins. Hopefully it will get easier. Going through the Hair loss stage right now too. Glad to see everyone on here. You guys keep me going!

I felt hungry and off-track (surgery October 19th) so I took 2 days and returned to basics: drank Protein Shakes and broths only and then reintroduced soft Proteins, returned to chewing more slowly and thoughtfully and weighing everything again. Now I've moved back into firmer Proteins. It's curbed the appetite for carbs and I'm feeling focused and back on track.
You can google '5 day pouch reset' if you're interested. I found it worked for me. I was experiencing cravings and they've since lessened considerably. It also broke a 3 week plateau. The weight loss has slowed though and I think it's normal in months 4+ to experience a more 'normal' rate of weight loss. It's a good thing. Our bodies are adjusting.
I'm glad to hear so many of you are doing well. We got this!

Wow your schedule looks pretty crazy! Mine is crazy but what I have found that works for me is either walking on the treadmill at night while studying, or after I get dinner done and everyone in bed I do my daily 30 minute workout, it's normally like 10:00 by then but then after I wind down with my studying. The workout videos I do are through beachbody they are the 21 day fix videos and they have a different 30 minute workout for everyday! I love them!
I do some kind of workout everyday which has helped tremendously with balancing everything going on, We need to have a little US time!

Hi everyone! It has been quite some time since I last checked in.. Read through some of these recent post and realize I'm not alone on this journey... So first off I went Jan 11th for my 12 week post op.. Hw/sw was 218 my current weight is 169.8 my NUT and nurse were pleased with my weight loss, my Dr on the other hand wanted to see more.. My Vitamin levels were on the lower end of normal but still considered normal so they wanted me to try this chewable they sold in office, so I did and every time I took it within a few minutes it would come right back up. Since this I have yet to find a Vitamin I can keep down now.. Now this is alarming because my hair is falling out rapidly.. My husband even noticed a small bald spot... I've seen a lot of hype on the Patches and although my surgeon told me not to use them at this point I think something is better than nothing.. Any thoughts???
And lastly I also need to get back on track with eating and tracking all I eat.. This past week there has been some grazing and that's a dangerous slope for me.. I have always noticed I can eat more than what I see people posting and I know just because I can doesn't mean I should.. So I've been back to timing between my bites and chewing chewing chewing, since I have always been a fast eater. I've been doing my 30 minute daily workouts by beachbody but this week I've been jugging more than usual and with a sick little one, so I need to start doing those consistently again.. So here I am ready to kick it up a notch and continue on my weight loss journey!
Hope everyone else is doing well!!
