@@Katherinedj - a lot of people use the Vitamin Patches on another forum I'm on. They say they're a decent substitute for the multi-Vitamins, but some people still have to take some of the extras like D, calcium citrate, and B12.< /p>

After being diagnosed with diabetes last February 2015, my decision was made to have gastric bypass surgery, something that scared me terribly as I transcribe daily and hear of different problems that others have had after the surgery. Weighing diabetes verses possible problems, i.e. anemia for one, I chose the possible problems. I started the process of getting ready in April 2015, lost 36 pounds before my surgery of November 5, 2015. Since my surgery 10 weeks ago tomorrow, I have lost 48 pounds for a total of wait for it.......84 POUNDS!!!! I am tickled pink, purple ,and all other beautiful colors. I have been lucky in that I have not had many problems at all. The worst is when I can eat a certain food one time and maybe 2 days later, it makes me sick. It is just hit and miss, but I keep trying it all. Yes, I would do it again. My goal is to be able to get my wedding dress on again after 43 years ago this May. I wish everyone the best on their journey.

The quote about not being recognized is somewhat true. I look in the mirror now verses pictures from before I started, and I sometimes don't know who I am.

Like many on this site, traveling on an airplane when I was super big was very challenging.
I am now down 150 pounds, and had my first plane trip. I could not believe how amazingly I fit in the seat, no seatbelt extender, and room to spare all around. Yay!
On the ouch side, I am visiting my in-laws for the first time since I've lost this weight and nobody said anything. 150 pounds down, and no one said a thing. I know I have much more to lose but OUCH. They even know I had the surgery (in all fairness, they didn't ask a single thing about me or my husband because they're self-involved but really???)
Thanks for letting me rave and rant about this! I've decided by posting this to let go of the ouch and focus on the NSV. Thank you to everyone on this site.

I eat Attain Nutrition Bars by Melaleuca. They are really good and there are a couple of different varieties. I am going more for the Protein factor but they are crunchy and satisfying.

Well, loser in the Powerball, not even 1 number. Congrats to the 3 who won in 3 different states. I am a winner, though, with every pound I have lost and losing. That means a lot more to me than Powerball, even though it would have been nice. :-)

everything but the meat went to the trash or home with relatives. my husband smoked two pork butts and pulled the meat. With those leftovers, we used the food saver and sucked 12 separate meals. I would highly recommend a food saver. I can portion everything. and nothing is ever thrown out because of freezer burn.

Bitches who would not give me a single glance before want to be my bestie and guys want to bang me. Just remember if you got fat tomorrow they would be gone. They are a fad. Stick with the people who loved you when you were a fatty and make friends with people who love you not your body. It feels great to be wanted. Just take care of who you give your precious time to. You need to surround yourself with people who don't want something from you. It's tough to go from invisible to popular. Some people can't handle it.

Congratulations on you weight loss. It looks like you are still in the weight loss phase. This is a short phase and in order to maximize your weight loss during this phase I would steer clear of burger and fries until your weight loss levels out and you enter the "Maintenance" phase. Generally your goal weight is an artificial number. I think I set my goal weight at about 190 pounds initially but my body decided that it should really be much lower. It went down to 150 without much problem.
Experimentation is O.K. but if you want to reap the full benefits of the surgery, stay with the guidelines.

Tonight is the epic POWERBALL jackpot of 1.5 BILLION dollars and chances are I'm going to win! You have to feel lucky to be lucky right? Anyway I feel like I've hit the jackpot because I've lost 97 pounds to date. I know I will hit my goal.
And if I don't win POWERBALL tonight, maybe this was the 4 MILLIONTH post on bariatric pal and I won all that cool stuff that Alex Brecher was talking about.
