  1. This happened to me and I ended up in the ER and had to have "help" getting rid of it! Very humiliating and painful! After that, I took a capful of Miralax every morning in some juice for about 3 months, and a stool softener every night. Still take the stool softener every night - I'm 8 months post op. No more problems for me. Sometimes I'll go 2-3 days without pooping, but it's not a big deal. I don't eat much!

I take mirilax every morning, it does nothing; I'll try prune juice and a stool softener at night, I've gotta do something my lower abdomen is so uncomfortable!

    Thank you for sharing!

  2. I went to ER, they did a ct scan I'm impacted with stool on colon and intestines, maybe that's where the pain is coming from. I'm trying to use enemas, dulcolax and 100% prune juice no sugar add diluted with Water. This morning I weight 121 lbs kind of scary.

I'm sorry that you are going through this, I appreciate you sharing; Is the majority of your discomfort is in your lower abdomen? Because that's where mine is and with all of my bowel issues, two bms in 14 days, I'm starting to wonder about myself. My surgeon is saying take morilax Tylenol and heating pad, take it easy (hard for me to do) but man I would like to have a bm!!

So how will they treat you?

  3. On day 6 post op I still had not had a bm; I took mirilax in the morning and I'm the evening I felt like I had a bowling ball stuck up my a**, it would come out! I took more mirilax that evening and slept with a lot of discomfort but in the am I pooped out my bowling ball lol!! Now I take a capful of mirilax every morning (I am ten days post op and haven't had any issues since. Good luck it sucks I know!

  4. I stay at home; however yesterday 9 days post op; I was feeling great and (was tired of looking at some rooms that needed cleaning /makeover)

I'm pretty sure I overdid it as I now have pain and a lot of discomfort in my lower abdomen.

I also have only had one BM in 9 days so that could also be the culprit. Still trying to figure it out; but certainly hoping that I didn't cause any damage during my boredome driven cleaning spree yesterday.

  5. I am a foster parent, in fact during my two week preop we went (drove almost 400 miles to adopt one. And this Thursday, 11 days post op we are adopting our second.

These two have been foster kids in our home for over a year. I did however refuse to take any new kiddos during recovery and because of the holidays at this point I will wait until after Christmas. There is always such a great need for placements, God Bless you for what you are doing!! My suggestion is to not take any behavior ones until at least 4 wks post op. They can be a lot of work and very stressful and it's best if you focus on your healing (if you're like me you'll out the kids needs before your own)

    Good Luck!

  6. After reading these posts I don't think my pain is stricture.

Their are two logical explanations for my pain maybe someone has experienced this and can offer insight.

I am post op day 9 and have had only had one bm. I took mirilax twice yesterday as well as a gas X, still no bm, but some gas relief.

Or.... I overdid it yesterday ; went to the dump, grocery shopping, thoroughly cleaned 3 large rooms in the house

I had suffered sharp pains in my lower abdomen last night, I stopped, sat and applied heat it offered some relief. It's 3 in the morning and am having a hard time sleeping because of the low abdomen discomfort which now is not sharp pains but very very uncomfortable.

Still trying to figure out if I've overdone it (and should be concerned) or if I should take a stronger stool softener.

I sure wish I knew which was causing the discomfort.

Any of your experiences would be appreciated, I will most likely call my surgeon tomorrow if I have no relief.

    Thank you all!!

  7. My surgery was the same day!!

And my symptoms are very similar to yours. Drinking Water is painful and causes gas, however flavored water went down easier (I have no explanation for that) I also found that the eas Protein Drinks go down smooth.

My pouch feels great when I first wake up but then as soon as I start putting anything in it I experience some discomfort and if I push it it hurts so I listen to my body and stop.

I'm hopeful that each day I'll be able to increase my Protein and water intake.

My surgery went great, I otherwise feel great. I'm off pain meds, I've had no nausea but I have had an increase in fatigue.

My thanksgiving meal consists of a cup of turkey broth (strained) with a scoop of Unjury unflavored protein, it is doubtful that I will finish the entire 8 ozs!

  8. Janie80

My nerves came and went throughout the 14 day diet, tomorrow is my surgery I feel like I'm meeting, I've prepared meals for the family, I've cleaned the entire house and have taken care of things that I had procrastinated, the good part is that it helped me to not overthink about tomorrow.

I am super excited more than nervous though and am soo looking forward to a new life, a new me!!

  9. I'm on my pre op Protein liquid diet; surgery on Monday ????

I also use the jar, (my starting weight was 254 I am now 232) but I always forget how many rocks (lbs) ive already put in I'll take any tips on that!

And the canvas I love that idea thank you for sharing I'm sooo going to ale one for me!!!'

And yes you are super adorable, you are def my inspiration, when I saw your photo it reminds me of my body type; the thought of being in wonderland and having the body like yours excited and encourages me, all in just what 6 wks since surgery?

Can I ask what workout program you do? Thank you

I do a mix of things. I've worked with a friend who is working on becoming a personal trainer in the past. She taught me how to lift weights. So I lift, run on the treadmill, do the stair climber, I swim laps, and I recently started adding in yoga and Pilates classes. I mix it up. I think doing different things on a regular basis really helped me. I haven't really stalled and I'm 7 weeks out. The longest I've gone is about 4 days without a loss. I usually lose half a pound or more a day. But everyone is different and losses at their own pace when their body is ready. I'm sure my time with stalls is coming soon. But I'm going to embrace it. Best of luck to you. And thank you all for the support <3

Thank you for sharing your exercise regime with me!!! I'm so excited tomorrow is my big day!!
