Feeling pretty good so far. I'm not getting enough liquids but I will!! The odd thing my surgeon found was that the band was broken on one side. That must have been what was causing the pain I was experiencing.. So glad to have the band out and be starting this new journey!!

Just wanted to share that today was my big day! It took 3 hours to cut through all the scar tissue. I'm pretty sore and resting!

Good for you! You will learn to appreciate the sleeve very quickly. It's so different from the band.
Advice for you:
For the next 4 - 6 weeks, concentrate on keeping hydrated and healing. Follow the progressive diet to a T as recommended by your doctor. Once you have healed enough and begin eating your Proteins required you will get the full effect of the sleeve. Healing is of most importance right now and concentrating on weight loss comes after. I would stay off the scale for a few weeks. You won't regret this decision. My weight loss has been slow with the sleeve, but, this way of life is worth every minute of the slowness. My surgery is coming up on Wednesday! Only 2 more days. I have chosen to tell very few people, my 3 adult sons, my husband, and one close friend. I am so ready for this, but am also sure I don't want negativity in my life right now. I will be talking to my 98 year old dad tomorrow and want to tell him, but won't. He is half way across the country and so are my 2 sisters - whom he would tell for sure. They would not be supportive. My sister had a chance to do this several years ago and was talked out it by my mom and other sister I'm sure. They never had to struggle with weight and I can I can still feel the silence that followed my positive reaction to her news. Still feels bad and sad. Anyway, thanks for starting this thread. I needed to vent I guess. I am so ready. Good luck to all of you!
