Hello Ms. Widow... I wanted to pop in and say hello, sorry I never got back to you on your last post! First off, welcome and I wish you success and good health on your journey! Good for you to take care of yourself! I am the person in colorado who went to Dr. Snyder, not Dr. K. (I met these cool folks in this thread at a dinner they have once a month, and they were nice enough to welcome me in to the fold). I was a self pay and did not know of Dr. K prior to my surgery date. I paid about 16,500 for my surgery all told.. SO Dr. K's price is better and his patients seem to really love him! Also, his fills are soo much cheaper than Dr. Snyders.. I pay $100 a fill, where as Dr K's are $15, (I think that is right!). I am not sure on how to do the surgery while traveling thing, as I was here in colorado. Maybe others with that same expericence on this thread can share. Have you checked in your area for a fill clinic? and what that costs where you live? I don't think flying in for fills would be really practical? At any rate, good luck and good for you! Take Care! I am not exactly sure of the issue, but it sounds similar to something my family has faced in the past with my brother. I am happy to say he is six years clean & sober on 1.17.2008! Hello There! Thank you so much, to all who welcomed me to the RR lapband group last night! It was so great to meet everyone and to start learning about you and your journeys! You all are definitely an inspiration! Dee - we will be sending you positive thoughts and prayers as you head in for your surgery! I look forward to future meetings and getting to know you all better! John - thanks for inviting me Here is a bit about me and my journey! I had my lapband installed on 9.13.2007 with Dr. Snyder at Rose Medical Center. I was a self pay person, and wish I had learned about Dr. K., during my shopping phase! So far, in my journey I have lost 40 pounds and (this number always makes me smile) 31.25 INCHES! (yes, I am exercising a bunch!) I want it to be faster, but am trying to be patient, and will be glad if at the end I don't have the 'extra skin issue! I am 42, single and live in Highlands Ranch. I work for First Data as a Director of Strategic Analysis Projects (Usually, IT stuff). I have worked there for closing in on 4 years and love it! I have three neices I love to spoil! I love to travel for fun and have been lucky to see some pretty cool places on this 3rd rock from the sun, many more to go! For fun, I enjoy volunteering and belong to a group called Metro Volunteers. I recently started the First Data Foundation (a 501©3 non profit) and we get to do many fun volunteer activites! I also love live music and in particular local favorites: Blues Goddess: Hazel Miller (http://www.hazelmiller.com) and Big Head Todd & The Monsters (http://www.bigheadtodd.com) Anyhoo, nice to meet you all, I will hope to learn a bunch through this board!
