    Pain in my breast.

I've never had my breast checked out, probably because I'm pretty young still and never thought it was necessary. Never had problems before this. Thanks ladies for the advice. I will take a couple advil when it gets bad and will make an appointment on Monday. Maggie

    Found marajuana & need advice

My brother smokes pot and his life is a mess. I don't talk to him anymore. All he ever wants to talk about is how he is broke and needs to borrow $20. All he does every single evening is smoke pot. It makes me mad just thinking that his life has no real adventures, no excitement, nothing happens. All he does is work, get fired (comes in late, calls in sick, too lazy to do anything), smoke pot, and bother his family to lend him money. He fell into this trap, now is depressed and argues with me that he needs pot to make his life bearable. Good Luck to the original poster, hope your nephew grows up enough to realize this isnt what a daddy should be doing.

Holy smokes! $200? How big is the bag? I'd think you can get a good high on $10 a day or so. Been a while since I've been in that kind of crowd. The thing that most people don't understand about marijuana usage is that it has many consequences that aren't very obvious. For one thing, pot is an emotional drug which can cause a feeling of need for it. It causes depression and anxiety. The worst part is, people who smoke pot tend to rely on it for relaxation, and that is not a way to live life. Relaxation should be achievable in a healthy way, taking a walk, a long bath, vacationing, gardening, not hiding someplace and getting baked. Obviously you'd have to hide cuz most people don't approve. It is afterall illegal. Just as with alcohol, only in moderation is ok. People who drink too much have many problems. Same thing with pot, if it's a once a month type of thing, I wouldn't be so worried, but if he can't help himself and smokes in the house, on a weeknight, more than once per week... it is probably a problem and he needs to stop.

    Lost my Neice, Karen.

I'm so sorry for your loss Vera. You and your family are in my thoughts.
  6. As someone who has not been banded yet, I come here mostly for the off topic threads. I already spent three months researching the band and probably wont have any more questions until I have my band. I come here because I like being among a group of people who share the same goals as I do, losing weight. I like reading and discussing the same issues we have as overweight women, mom's etc. Once I have a band, I will know many people who have gone through it too, and that is very comforting to me. I can honestly say, if there was no offtopic, I wouldn't have a reason to come back.

    Star Jones

I do pilates and I weigh 269 lbs. I also do yoga, walking, aerobics (for like 4 minutes lol), I wrestle with my bf, bike, treadmill. I think my level of activity is wonderful, considering I can clean a whole house in three hours, including washing floors on my hands and knees. I don't let my nearly 300lb body stop me. I do have somethign else to add about the comment: diet fails because people are not motivated or lazy... most of us on the message board probably have an eating disorder. We over eat a lot, or at least the unbanded ones. It is a very sad way to live life, but we are judged for it negatively. The people who have other eating disorders, bulemia and anorexia, they are felt sorry for and pitied, they are not judged as harshly as we are. Someone sees a fat person and says 'oh my, look how fat and discusting! yuk!', and then they see an anorexic girl and say 'oh poor thing'. That's all so sad, fat people arent fat because they are lazy, we're fat because we really just can't help it, no matter how many nights we cried, how many times we were made fun of, no matter how much we wished we could change. We go through such hard times being fat, we lose self respect and we stop loving ourselves. We lose hope in ever finding love. We all hate being fat, hate ourselves for it, and we want to lose weight, yet we simply can't. It's just as hard for us to stop eating as it is for the anorexic girl to start. I know that I can not speak for anyone else, but what I wrote above is something I say from the heart. Maggie

    Calling Chicago Bandsters!!!!

Jeans and boots will do fine. Weat a sweater under your jacket cuz it does get a little cold. It is not so bad. You do not need to go crazy and wear thermals under your clothes. Not like we're eskimos  The weather in chicago has been very nice lately, 20's and 30's and two weeks ago it was high above 40. You wont freeze to death

Are your children or pets overweight?

I started having weight problems around the age of 12. My son was born when I was pretty heavy at 200lbs. I was young and short, so 200 was a lot for me at that age. He is pretty active and at a healthy weight. He does love to eat candy and ice cream, but I don't usually allow much sweets. We do not have salty snacks like chips in the house. He likes to drink Sprite, but I only allow it once or twice a day.

    I signed up for ediets.

I can't get a band until I can figure out how to pay for it myself, so I thought I should join Jenny Craig or something. After finding out the cost of JennY Craig, I was very dissapointed I can not afford it. I went online and looked around and found that ediets has a 'alternative to jenny craig diet'. I signed up for $15 a month. The diet planner creates a meal plan based on everything I can find in the grocery store, and it includes lots of frozen and canned foods that can be heated in the microwave. It gives me an entire shopping list of things I need for that week. I am so excited. It really doesn't seem to be all that expensive. I can probably get away with spending $50 a week on the diet groceries if I plan ahead. The ediets website also offers weekly check in to keep track of the weight loss etc. I am excited!

    Music - Whats your flavor?

I like country music  I like R&B too ...and soft rock, and bamboo flute meditation music, and christian pop, and Linkin Park, and Euro Dance, and lots and lots more. I do have to say, a song like 'I love this bar' and 'Redneck Yacht Club' will be always on the top of my playlist. I love country!

The WHY ARE MEN SO WEIRD thread.

I am in a relationship for the last few months and its mostly good except for things like: He is a 29 year old man who thinks farting is fuuny. Burping is too. Spending a thousand dollars on the latest xbox is fine, but buying Cereal that isn't on sale is unheard of. He likes cute lingerie. Ok, so I must wear sexy lingerie to get sum... aren't I enough?!?! Damnit, it's ME that he touches and plays with, not my undies! And they come off anyway. *sigh* He's not too bad though, just a little odd. And he has a secret affair with super spicy foods.

Whitehead bonanza after laser hair removal

If you have mineral makeup, maybe dust some on top to cover them up? I rarely get pimples anymore, maybe a couple here and there once a month or so, and I am sure it's because I switched to mineral makeup, so I wouldn't worry about aggrivating the area with it.

Friday Fun Thread ~ Weird Fears

When I was little I found a spider in the toilet. I still look before I take a seat. I am always afraid of scary movies, and the commercials on TV freak me out. After I watched 'the ring', I sat in my room and stared at the floor while thinking about it. I couldn't sleep for about a week. Then I made the mistake of letting my ex talk me into seeing 'the ring 2' at the movies... another sleepless week. I am also afraid of ghosts, spiders, roaches, basements, mirrors, and overall just evil stuff. I absolutely love sleeping if there is lots of people around, I feel so safe and sleep like a baby. I hate sleeping when I'm home alone.

What Do You Do to Feel Sexy????

I put on sexy undies, dress up, do my hair and makeup, nails, then spritz on sexy perfume, go out someplace with a lot of men. I like to go dancing at a night club.
  20. We all have that one piece of clothing we can't do without. Some would say it's pantyhose, others say it's a thong. What about you? What is the one piece of clothing you must have in your closet, and as soon as it's ruined you run to the store for another? Why do you love it so? I say, have at least one great pair of sexy jeans. You can put it on with a nice jacket and head out to a fancy lunch. You can pair it with a flirty top and go clubbing. Looks great with heels too.

    Stretch marks WHERE?

So this morning I noticed I have new stretch marks. It wouldn't be so bad if they were in the usual spots, like my boobies, lower back, etc. Nooooo this was on my upper arms, and not like the back or by the armpit, this was on the front of the arm. Also, I found one right on the top of my shoulder. My beautiful round shoulder that I used to love showing off with flirty tops now has a nasty ugly stretch mark on it. Gosh, this is terryfying. How do I stop the stretch marks? I'm afraid of ruining my whole body and even when I lose weight I will look scarred :cry :help:

    The #!@#$%^&* Scale Thread

I have a fancy scale I got as a present for myself when I decided to lose weight. Now, I hide it under the couch. I haven't touched it in months. Hate that piece of $hi3t.
  23. Undies, I'm an undie junkie. I must have at least 50-60 pairs of cute (uncomfortable) undies. Maybe 10 pair of well fitting, full coverage, grannie panties.

I've been zapped! Laser Weight Loss

That's great DeLarla. It's very inspiring to see you succeed without the band. My insurance decided not to cover it anymore (after I did all the work trying to set it up) and I decided I will lose weight without a Lap Band. It's been very hard so far, but seeing you do it proves weightloss is possible, and gives me hope! Thanks for sharing.

    DeLarla's Feeling Better Fun Thread

The weirdest thing in my fridge is a big block of yeast. Not the dry kind, it's a big nasty smelly block of gooey yeast. I don't know how it even got in my fridge.
