    Calling all February 1st Sleevers!

Yeah, they're disgusting. I tried the blue one. Someone on here said the coconut was good but I love coconut so I might try it again.

    Stretched Sleeve

Hopefully getting eating under control will help the sleeve bounce back

    Calling all February 1st Sleevers!

I'm pretty sure I can. Although my focus will be on fish and Greek yogurt during that phase. I'll be mixing the syntrax protein powder into the Greek yogurt so hopefully it tastes good!
  4. Your plan is so much more progressive than mine. I am still on Clear liquids, right, one week. Then second week "full" liquids, so pretty much Protein shakes and broth and clear liquids. 3rd week, soft foods like thicker Soups. Oh boy! Forth week, mushier foods. C'est la Vie! My surgery however was a 'revision' but I did notice they do this for all of their WLS.Haha! We'll be hitting the soft foods at the same time I think. Here's my whole 30 days lol: ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1454875560.280951.jpgImageUploadedByBariatricPal1454875587.565974.jpg Thanks! If you like cottage cheese, the best I've ever tasted is made by "Kalona". Yes, I am fantasizing about cottage cheese right about now, lol. Lol I'll look for that brand!!

  7. I agree!!! good job!!!! Can't wait till I can have applesauce in about 7 days. Lol! You have good intentions and you'll do well with this whole process. Best of luck! :-)
  8. I can totally relate! My doctor didn't put me on a pre-op diet at all. He just said lose a little weight before and I'll be able to get you an even tighter sleeve. All he said was Clear liquids the day before and at 4pm that day take an ounce of milk of magnesia. That's it. So for two weeks I decided to put myself on a liquid diet. I was really good until I thought, this is way too restrictive. So I added bacon and chicken in the evenings but kept with shakes in the day time. But then, 4 days before I said eff it and went out and had sushi, made a pan of bread pudding, had buttered popcorn and felt better. Then I was back on liquids and ok. I just didn't like the rigidity of the diet I was putting myself on. Fast forward to almost one week post op and I feel great. No cravings. No hunger at all. 12 pounds down. And I know if I do shove something wrong down my throat I will pay dearly for it. And that's not worth it. You've got the right mindset. Costa Rica sounds like it was fun. Immersion and learning a culture and like by force - really cool. Wait till you get immersed in your new stomach. Lots to learn but you'll be a pro at it too!

    Can't bring Phone?!

They provided a garment bag and a bag for my shoes. If my husband hadn't been with me then I would've put my phone and my tablet in a pocket of my hoodie in the garment back. They just don't want you to bring anything really valuable. They don't want to deal with liability for loss or property.
  10. Lol! I feel you! But you've come this far. Are you good at commitment? Commit to your surgery and vow not to mess up the process or recovery. I know it's hard - I've never smoked but I'm addicted to sweets and there's a bag of mini butterfingers on the dining room table. Been there since I came home from surgery and I have no desire for it. Mainly because it would probably rip open my new tummy but still! You have to start dealing with wheel power now! I wish you all the best and I was glad to be of help!

    ...just got real!

:-) thanks for the kind words and support! I hope yours is successful too!!!! Have fun in your sleeve care class! You should get a wealth of information! I hope to hear you have an approval and a date really soon!!!!!
  12. I agree - two major changes is a bit much, but you really shouldn't smoke right now. Just suck it up because you don't want anything to hinder a good outcome on that table. Cleaning your lungs and airways, and circulating smoke free blood throughout your body will help you during surgery and after when you are recovering.

    Liquid diet pre op

I didn't have a pre-op diet but I had a day before surgery diet. Just clears the day before. I decided to put my self on a liquid diet just to make sure I didn't go crazy. Well, crazy I went. Two Thursday's ago, 4 days before my surgery I just stood up, put clothes on and went and got sushi. I then came home and out of nowhere made a pan of bread pudding (ate 1/4) and some popcorn. I was fine after that. Took my milk of magnesia is instructed the day before surgery and stuck to clears. Here I am a week post op. And happy! And down 12lbs. You'll be fine. Let them know you messed up if you want. Don't gain any weight. Call your dietician if you can just for support. You got this! Good luck!
  14. Sounds like you're two weeks out. I'm allowed to eat soft foods like eggs, cottage cheese etc two weeks out (I.e. Days 15-30) but we have different doctors who have different protocols so I'd say you should probably call your doctor. Be sure to tell them it was a mix up and also if you've felt any reactions after eating it.
  15. I agree..also, let the doctor know you have had bad nausea lately. An hour before my surgery my nurse brought in a somewhat large pill and had me take it with a little bit of water. She said it was a long-lasting nausea pill and would help my stomach settle. And it worked! Good luck and I hope you feel better!!!

    Two week pre op diet

To second what someone else said, your dietician should give you guidelines. For me, being an almost OCD rule follower (until I'm not) it helped me greatly. This is what was in my binder regarding post op nutrition. I received it well in advance of surgery and was able to purchase my "food" early so that I could sample and make a smart plan. Hope it helps:

    ...just got real!

Update for today: I woke up and the pain from the intubation tube in my throat from surgery has pretty much gone away. On a scale of 1 to10, I'd say the pain is 0.5 which is good! It's almost more like an annoying irritated throat than anything. So that took about 7 days to heal. On another note, got on the scale at the same time I do each day and down to 271.6. I might hit the 260's tomorrow! I was 266 when I found out I was pregnant with my sweet little girl so that would be amazing if I could hit that goal during this week!!!! Just a running log of my weigh-ins so far: 2/1 (day of surgery) - 283.6 2/2 at hospital, didn't weigh 2/3 home from hospital - 282.6 (big shock) 2/4 - 279.2 2/5 - 276.6 2/6 - 274.6 2/7 - 271.6 Just looking at it like this is shocking! Praying I keep doing what I need to do to keep being successful! Plan for today: *Drink 15g Protein drink for Breakfast *Drink broth (4-6oz) for lunch *Drink Premier Protein 30g for dinner *Potentially work in a sf Jello cup again. It didn't go down too well last night so I'll try again. *Also, I have this Syntrax nectar tasteless Protein powder that I might experiment with in my broth. Idk. I'll let you know how that goes! I need to stay rested since I go back to work tomorrow. All the achiness in my legs and arms is gone, no gas pains at all (thanks to gasX strips and laying on my left side - i remembered that from my Csection). I have a doctors note that has me out till the 12th but I will only use it if necessary. As far as my employer knows, I asked for 5 days off and it was approved. That's all I wanted them to know. I feel like if I had gone the medical route then everyone would know my personal business which is not what I want. So hoping for a smooth day back at work mañana! I'm actually looking forward to it! And how about something random - I'm craving lumpia!!!! I just wrote it on the running list of things to try when I make goal!

    February 2016 sleevers?

Lol ok because they told me to take my tongue piercings out but in scared they will close Well I got worried when you were asking so I put it back in this morning lol! It's in, no problems. Granted I've had the piercing since 2006. Good luck

    ...just got real!

Update before bed: 51 ounces of Fluid 55g of Protein - I added a 10g Protein shake earlier I also tried a Sf Jello cup - i guess I didn't chew it well bc it hurt going down. Clearly chew, chew, chew applies to that lol. My SW at dr office was 288 (I thought it was 286). My surgery weight was 283.6 when I left my house that morning. My current weight is 274.6 so I'm down 9lbs since surgery. I'm officially not using my starting weight anymore, just for consistency. I'm going to use my surgery weight to track all losses from now. So yay!!! 9 lbs down!

Thank-you for sharing your experience. Your updates are great and I'm so happy you are feeling well!!! I absolutely love your water bottle...do you know where your husband purchased it? Aw thanks! Glad to share! Yes, it's by Thermos called the Thermos Smart Lid and he purchased it from Amazon. It's probably carried at large sporting food stores that carry Thermos products as well!!!

    Calling all February 1st Sleevers!

That's weird. I would be confused to because I thought all that was cut out. Is it like real true hunger? Or could it be thirst? I haven't felt a shred of hunger. At all. Are you getting in all your fluids? Hubby bought me the same yesterday. Can you let me know how it ends up working for you and what you use it in? Just curious...

    Calling all February 1st Sleevers!

Sorry about that when I had my cSection I walked in the hospital at 310 and walked out at 310 because of all the fluids. 4 days later I was 296. That water is no joke - it will come off though. I got lucky this time... Hope you get to feeling better soon!
