  1. Definitely depends on the job. I have a few different part-time jobs. One is from home, so I went back to that one after five days. The others i went back to after 10 days.
  2. @@JenniferPenelope Well, I had pain Friday night while sleeping and the last thing I ate a few hours before bed was greek yogurt. I ate 1/2 cup over an hour so it wasn't a matter of eating it quickly. Then yesterday for lunch I had some oatmeal with a bunch of milk. It was really watered down. While I may have eaten it too quickly, based on the night before the common denominator is lactose. I had eaten oatmeal Friday with much less milk and it didn't bother me.
  3. I seem to have developed an issue with lactose now. Fun.
  4. I got one but I don't see them as being just for 'old' people. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry...and I have other things that should be on it that I never bothered to do. So now I'm covered.
  5. @@Lemm61 I hope it's smooth sailing going forward. My update is that I am home as well after surgery on thursday. I've had some waves of pain here and there. It is much harder being home than I thought. And I think I am kind of in denial that I've done this. So weird!
  6. @@AmysShrinking Me please!
  7. I had my pre-op assessment stuff yesterday and we are proceeding as planned. June 2nd! I'm starting OptiFast today. Not a fan.
  8. I'm in my preoperative assessment appt. Very exciting. One week to go! Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  9. I start Thursday. I can have 4 shakes, broth, and decaf coffee/tea.
  10. I'm in owen sound. Great timing! In the grocery store and picked up the coffee. Thanks! Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  11. June 2nd, RNY. I start optifast next week.
  12. I'm not post-op yet, but for the past month or more I've switched to skirts. They are just so much more comfortable in comparison to pants with a belt. The downside is that I have to shave more.
  13. Mine is June 2. I don't really have many fears. I am trying to get stuff in order just in case I die but that's more concern about the people I leave behind. I am worried about the emotional part after. As it is I struggle with depression and anxiety that is currently well managed. I keep telling myself that is a small part of the bigger picture.
  14. I don't have any advice. I only have one week of it and start that in a bit over a week. I hope it improves for you.
  15. I'm in Ontario. The process was six months. Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  16. Mine is June 2. I was offered May 12, but that would be tricky with work.
  17. I know I could walk parts but it does have a time limit. We travel together on a ferry to get back. Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  18. I know you guys are right. I've emailed the organization to see if they would add a walk. They probably won't. It's on an inhibited island and they are trying to limit the environmental impact. Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  19. Thanks. I'm 250 and don't really exercise right now. My brain says no. But the inner runner wants to break out. Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm scheduled to have my surgery on June 2. If all goes well, do you think it would be possible to run a 5k at the end of September. I would follow c25k. A really cool race has come up that I want to do. Sent from my SGH-I337M using the BariatricPal App
  21. @@JamieLogical Thanks. I may take it up again then.
  22. At what weight did you guys start? I used to be a runner and then stopped and gained a bunch of weight. When I started again, I developed plantar fasciitis. I'm pre-op at this point, but running is my favourite exercise. I just didn't think I could because of the PF....
  23. Ontario. Just getting the process started.
  24. Awesome. Mine should be in 6-9 months.
  25. Mine was in a different order. Orientation session, then my first set of appointments with the nurse, dietitian, and social worker. My next set of appointments were set for 8 weeks after that (hasn't happened yet).
