  1. Fantastic success story. You have been working so hard and are deservedly reaping the rewards. I'm sure your dog must be happy too ????
  2. Incredible change. Congratulations, you look fantastic!
  3. Thanks for your replies, it's good to see some of you have found this journey not as challenging as first thought. Only time will tell for me. I'm definitely a comfort eater so it will be interesting how this will affect my journey after my surgery.
  4. I was told the same as jj7481. My nut said its the dehydration issue. Also she said coffee can spur on old habits meaning if you are like me, if I have a coffee I normally will want to eat something with it (coffee and chocolate is my ultimate food combo). My nut said I should stop at 2 cups of normal coffee a day.
  5. OK first of all I get it......its just a tool ☺️ I am pre-op....and I know weight loss after surgery means a dramatic change in lifestyle and I am prepared to do the work..... and even my surgeon has said his patients finds this journey hard. But have any of you lovely post-ops found the journey easy or maybe better put...not as hard as you thought it would be?
  6. Hi Ladyv. If you go to the Pre Op pages....there is a thread for Jan surgeries with a bunch of people including myself having surgery next month......it's getting so close! Good luck!
  7. An amazing change in 8 months. You look fantastic. Thanks for posting your pics...very inspirational.

  9. A fantastic achievement for all you have been through....and by your photos you have smiled in the face of adversity no matter how tough things were for you....Congratulations!!!
  10. Thanks for your generous reply and fantastic advice. I'm looking forward to waking up after the op and knowing everything went well...and starting my new life!
  11. Dub I can only hope I will feel outstanding after surgery! It's so frustrating and a little nerve-racking being pre-op and not exactly knowing what awaits on the other side.
  12. Steve you have been through such a difficult time. I can only hope you have no more complications, and life becomes easier for you. I hope those sunny happy days are just around the corner; and I appreciate your advice to live each day as it comes.
  13. I can't tell by the photo if you are underweight, and it's important you are healthy.....but you do look fantastic.
  14. Update: so I've turned the pain corner and today and feeling much better. I saw my dr today and apparently my drain dropped inside of me and that is what was causing so much intense pain. He removed it and I feel much better. I was also finally able to get some of the gas out of my tummy last night ???? super gross but oh so necessary. I'm snuggling my 1 year old right now![ Excellent news mrsob1. Glad to hear you are feeling better and your kids have you back again! ????
  15. Thanks for your replies. Hopefully long term the positives will out weigh the negatives.
  16. Hi I'm pre-op. I've been reading some studies on this forum which suggest due to the changes of hormones from the op, it may lead to depression in some people. I'm interested to hear from people that are post op. Overall ...... Do you feel happier? Depressed? Or the same?
  17. Mine said around 45 mins...I carry most of my weight around hips , thighs and I have a huge backside! So being a little smaller in the torso area, the Dr said it shouldn't take as long......hopefully!
  18. I'm another person who will be having the mini bypass. Mine will be in January.
  19. Hi , I'm Eve ,Australia. I had the ban removed 3 months ago after it being in for 5 1/2 years. Wan't overly successful for me. I'm having the Omega Loop in January so I'll be interested to keep reading posts from people who've had revisions of like mine. Eve I also have an MGB in January and and I'm an Aussie. I thought I was going to to have the Roux-en-Y until my appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he advised the MGB. So I'm re-educating myself. My impression is the post op diet is much the same as the Roux-en-Y, would you agree?
  20. Thanks so much for you post. It's always great to hear from a long termer like yourself and with such a positive outcome. I'm pre-op and I'll find out my surgery date tomorrow. I hoping to complete a 7.5 mile run next September. I did this run about 8 years ago.
  21. Good luck on your health journey. You have been helping out so many people, and now it's you turn. This site has been a god send. It's so comforting to been in touch with so many like minded people.
