    Ugh---sleeved 8/1

Plates....it's a learning process...just be sure to read your manual thoroughly and contact your nutritionist or Drs office if you aren't sure about something...Good luck and hope you feel better physically and mentally soon [emoji3][emoji106]

Amount of food @ 6 months Post Op....

Djmohr.....my Nut recommends 3/4 to 1 cup of food at this point...3oz of lean protein plus .25 cup veggie and .25 cup fruit or potato....as with most plans , suppose to eat in the order of protein, veggie, fruit, whole grain. Thank you for the advice! At least I do know that it is considerably less then I could eat prior to surgery! [emoji3][emoji106]. I will bring up my concern with both my Dr and Nut in a couple weeks....I just don't want to mess this up!

Amount of food @ 6 months Post Op....

Cervidae...thank you so much for your input....I'm probably being paranoid but also want to be in tune to what I should be eating volume wise...I don't want to fail after all I've been through thus far that's for sure [emoji3][emoji106] Pmanley....thank you! [emoji2]

Amount of food @ 6 months Post Op....

Pazza....I have my 6 month appt with my Dr on the 18th..I will definitely bring up my concerns..I do track my calories and protein...on an average day I get around 1,000 calories..sometimes a little less or a little more...my protein stays around 75 grams a day....water is usually around 64 oz. I have been very fortunate with food as far as not getting sick. I walk 5-6 times a week for an hour or so ...I do not go to a gym , may consider that this Winter. Thank you for taking the time to reply , I wish you the best in your journey! [emoji3][emoji106]

Need advice from gastric bypass veterans

I'm not a veteran but what about ordering a virgin Bloody Mary or Caeser or a Shirley Temple, Arnold Palmer...I believe the latter two are nonalcoholic .

    Does anyone regret their surgery?

I second the probiotic...it worked wonderfully for me too...it takes a week or two to get settled in but the benefits are great [emoji106][emoji2]. Hope you get well soon. I'm sorry you and your friends are going through this. [emoji26]

    Over doing sushi?

Sorry this happened to you! I'm hoping to eventually enjoy a piece or two of sushi down the road...I'm 5 months PO gastric bypass and am afraid to try rice at this point because of all the problems I've seen other people post about it [emoji15] For now I'll just enjoy all the things that I can have and watch the scale go down!

Which fresh fruit does not cause dumping?

I'm 5 months PO and I eat berries, bananas, peaches, melons without any problems....the skin on apples, grapes and oranges can give me some issues if I eat too much of it. I have only had one mild case of dumping early on from creamy peanut butter...haven't touched it since...lol
  14. A great product to help prevent in the first place is Monistat Chaffing cream...this stuff is amazing and not messy like powders...it's not cheap..$5.98 for a small tube at Walmart but well worth it! [emoji3][emoji106]

    Hair loss

I was just commenting to my hubby how if it doesn't stop soon I'm going to be bald...lol....I'm 5 months post op and it's been shedding for over a month...every morning after I wash and blow dry my hair , the sink is covered in hair...it's sad! Mine is not coming out in clumps , more of a shedding.

    Is something wrong with me?

I'm with esskay77 ....I eat the nutritious stuff on the salad first...I don't like to fill up on lettuce which really doesn't have much nutritional value...some kinds are better then others of course [emoji3][emoji106]
  19. If it weren't for Obamacare I would have never been able to get my surgery.....I had gastric bypass and my out of pocket was $6800 and my surgery was over $50,000 so I'm not complaining! [emoji7][emoji106]....and since I had my surgery in Feb that means everything for the rest of this year is paid in full [emoji3][emoji106]
