did you have sleeve or bypass?

Did any of you not do so well preop with the diet? I don't mean the actual preop diet right before surgery, I mean the several months before where you have to write everything down. Did that affect you being able to get surgery? I do well sometimes and other times not as well. Does it affect my chances of getting approved? I'm feeling down because of my choices lately and I see my nutritionist again next week [emoji17]

I have my first appointment next week! And ugh yes. My mom is a nurse and is trying to lean me towards sleeve when I want bypass. It's so frustrating. She said she sees complications from it frequently, wants me to have the sleeve because it would be better in the long run, blah blah blah. Her being a nurse means she thinks she knows everything lol but I want to do what I want to do. How do I show that it's my decision but not be mean about it? She is helping pay too so I get why she wants a say in which surgery so badly. I'm frustrated.

Thank you for telling me about your journey! I am leaning towards bypass but my mom is a nurse and keeps telling me she wants me to get the sleeve. I ultimately want to do what's best for me. I want bypass because I want the restriction and I figure if I'm going to pay so much out of pocket after my insurance, then I misewell go for the golden standard. I have so much to lose and I hope I can convince her on the bypass. I don't have any comorbities as of now and my tests came back great. But I still am leaning towards bypass. I fear that if I get the sleeve, then it could fail and I might regret it and want bypass down the road. Thank you for letting me know!
