I got that part but at one sitting. I had been eating 4 oz of lean protein like salmon at lunch and someone told me that was too much?

I haven't done it yet. I have my colonoscopy on April 7th. I have to start doing a low residue diet a week before and clear liquids one day before but I think to be safe I'd go at least 2 days before (my choice) then the bisacodyl tablets , the miralax mixed with 64 oz of gatorade mix, and then I think a 10 oz. bottle of magnesium citrate, the day of procedure. With lots of water in between. Better than a gallon of that Moviprep if you ask me. Good luck with everything!

I did mine and it was so hard to drink all that stuff. Glad it is over. Hope I don't have another one for 10 years.

Today is my 3rd day out and I have some soreness and pretty tired. The only thing that was bad for me was the anesthesia it makes me sick so after surgery it took about 5 hours to get my vomiting under control. I came home yesterday early am after being able to pass the leak test and keep my intake down. I also came off the morphine the day of surgery b/c this too makes me sick. I will not weight myself till after my one week check up.

I totally understand. It seems like a lot of us here have insurance that is changing at the first of the year. I'm on my husband's insurance and he informed me that because their raises are increasing so is the insurance. Our deductible is $700 but I don't know if that will be changing as well. I really wished that I could have gotten the surgery before the year is out as well because of the increase but I don't think that its possible simply because I am just starting the process. As for your pre-op diet it sounds like you have aome good choices to keep you feeling full which is what I was worried about gor me. Because I take two blood pressure meds I am afraid of my blood sugar levels dropping too low. I will ask the surgeon about this during the consultation. I can also imagine how hard it is smelling food as it is being prepared. I am going to have to brace myself for that one lol! Oh Chelle I am so very excited for you! Please keep us posted on your progress.

not a bad idea. I could've had my surgery a little earlier because I did the same thing.

You're choice to start sooner says something even better than you may be aware. It says you're ready for anything and serious about your undertaking. These are the things that will carry you through the good and the bumpy times. You are fab.

Thank you for the encouraging words! Today was a hard day but man I DID IT!

  6. Anyone here have hypothyroid? My weight has been going up before my surgery. The only thing I have changed is cutting carbs and eating protein and veggies to shrink my liver? I hope this does not keep me from surgery.

I wouldn't leave until I have an answer - its too late in the year to be playing games with insurance requirements :(

So I'm waiting for them to open this am, and got to thinking would I have to start my 6 months over again if I already followed the MD for 6 months ?

I went to the office this morning before work and they weighed me. The nurse says she mailed my paper work off yesterday because it could not be submitted over the computer? So now I wait again...... :( I just pray I get it at this point.

  8. So my paper work is being sent in tomorrow!
