  1. Hi I am. I noticed I've put on 3 lbs. & I find myself craving junk food again. Not nearly as bad as before the surgery. I need to meal prep that's when I am feeling more satisfied & not so tempted. I'm so happy to have this weight off I don't ever want to go back there again, but it scares me my mom had gastric bypass surgery & she has regained about 35lbs. from where she should be. It creeps up on you. I think it's smart to weigh your food if that's what you need to do. Maybe try eating more food items throughout the day but make sure they have fewer calories so you don't go above your calorie count.
    Wishing you the best.

  2. Hi Tera1982

I didn't know we could have cottage cheese at this time. Maybe I misunderstood but I thought it was supposed to be liquids only for 2 weeks. Could the cottage cheese be doing it? If not I would love to eat some cottage cheese @ this time I'm on the liquids only. Protein Shakes, Jello, yogurt (no chunks of fruit), broth, Isopure & strained cream of chicken Soup. That has been it for me. Hope you get better soon.

  3. I was sleeved last Tuesday. I too had a blue day yesterday...thinking what the heck did I do. I too love food & the great meals with friends & family. I know, as everyone has been saying, I have so many great & amazing everyday things I will look more forward to than any meal could give me. Thank you everyone who posts! I am so grateful to have your encouragement & knowledge! I can't wait to be fit, run a half marathon, ski, & workout daily. I know moods will fluctuate but the future is too bright to stay in the blue for long! Hang in there!!

  4. Hi All Dec 8th sleevers,

I had a set back yesterday. I thought I was doing great, but I hadn't had a BM in almost a week. I tried to cut back on pain medicine & started drinking prune juice with no luck. I became fatigued & finally called my doctor so he gave me the ok to take milk of magnesia. I definitely feel better today, but feel like I took a couple of steps backwards. This is a long road, a new way of life.

  5. Hi All,

I was sleeved Tuesday & I am also having that trouble with Water. I am drinking Isopure. It counts as water because it's clear but the benefit is that it has 40 gms of Protein. I also asked the doctor if I could take a probiotic & he said yes. So I am drinking 1 a day. They are found at costco in the refrigeration dept. After I started taking the probiotic & sips of warm water and turning my torso I was able to move the gas out. I think that the gas pain was worse than the surgery pain. I am feeling much better today.

  6. Hi all,

I was denied even after the peer to peer review. My surgeon said my sleep apnea is too mild & I don't weigh enough but he will do it self pay. So I'm digging into my savings & paying it as a cash pay. I am super sad about it but I need to move on. I am hoping with my new found energy & spirit I will make that money up over time. It's lime my surgeon said people spend more money on a car than this surgery. I thought about going to Mexico but my husband & family won't support that. Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

  7. Hi Rking,

The only think I can think of is dehydration. I am pre-op my surgery isn't until Tuesday, but I was light headed several times & dehydration was always the first place my doctor went. I have also heard of Gatorade light which has electrolytes. Call your surgeon's office I'm sure they have had this issue before. Congratulations otherwise it sounds like your doing great!

  8. Today I was denied by Anthem Blue Cross. My doctor is going to appeal with a peer to peer review. My doctor's office said they aren't sure if they can complete the whole process on time ( Dec 1st my insurance changes to Blue Shield of CA) my BMI is 35.5 I have sleep apnea normal blood pressure, high risk for diabetes but not diabetic, high cholesterol. They denied me said it wasn't enough to qualify. I'm so devastated. I hadn't been so excited about my future since I can't remember. The doctors office said they rarely have a denial & they never lost an appeal so I'm not confident but still want to hold out for hope. If anyone has any suggestion or experiences that are similar please advise. Thank you

  9. They said my BMI was too low with no comorbidity. I had the sleep apnea but nothing else they considered severe. My doctors office is going to try & appeal it, but my insurance changes to Blue Shield starting Dec 1st. My doctor's office said they aren't confident they can complete the appeal in time. I will need to apply to Blue Shield next & I think they have stricter requirements. I'm not really sure. I'm so devastated! I just don't know what to think or do.
