    before & after

    85pounds down
  2. How soon after surgery were you able to drink coffee? week 7. I drink it waaay weaker than I use to but the 'comfort' is the same :-)
  3. I had a horrible shoulder pain as well, first still in the hospital. Everybody thought it was just gas. It turned out to be a leak. Bad news... But weeks later similar pain returned. More like joint pain. It would wake me up in the middle of the night, it hurt so bad. This time it was toxins. Now it's gone. Pain never came back. I HOPE you went to the doctor..
  4. I started mixing my unflavored Protein powder with my morning coffee and it was a game changer! I'm not a morning person and had a hard time eating anything first thing in the morning. This gives me the caffeine kick I need and 27g of protein for the start of my day! = brilliant!
  5. Hi everybody! I was sleeved Sep 21. 2015. I lost 42 pounds up to date. It seams we all have similar struggles: eating the same food over and over. Not drinking enough Water etc.. I found bottled water that I like. It costs more but I actually drink it. Well, I drink it if I'm at home. Have a hard time running around the city and drink water at the same time. (especially now when it's getting cold) I have a massive problem with Protein drinks. Don't tolerate them. :-( Now, the only way I can hack it is to mix a scoop of none flavored powder into a Soup. Now, my biggest challenge is: I'm in Europe through Christmas and here, to find cheeses 0% fat or deli meats with lower fat content is almost impossible! In general, finding nutritional information on products is SO much more complicated than in North America! I am guessing and groping blind... and totally frustrated! :-(
  6. uffff so good to read this! I have had a horrible diarrhea for over 14hrs, out of the blue, and I was trying to rack my brain what did I do to have caused it. So... you guys are saying: most likely Protein shakes? I hate them with a passion... now my body rejects it too lol.. I have a question? what do you eat on days like that? I am so weak and dehydrated! I'm forcing Water into me but anything 'food-like' that I put in my mouth causes me to run for the WC immediately. I only had few mouthful of rice in 2 days.
  7. Thanks, that sounds very sound. It's going to be a while till I can hit the gym though. I did find a handbook on google last night. Will study it today. I think, for me, I have to change the way of thinking. It's the carbs that made me fat so they're the bad guys but I'm not on yet another crash diet, my whole life has changed after sleeve. This is a new way of eating, living, functioning. It requires a new mind set
  8. Thanks so much. In getting my water & my protein shakes. By now I've tried Greek yogurt, egg whites, mushy carrots and some broccoli, tiny bit of cooked chicken. First 2 were great. Vegetables out of the soup and the chicken made my stomach miserable so I'm back to protein shakes & creamed soup tomorrow. Baby steps!
  9. I haven't been given any specific instruction, just the topical: stay hydrated, get your protein.. CARBS on the other hand.. I see among sleevers that some are not concerned about them much and some are on a strict: high protein / no carb track. I know, I will figure it all out eventually. :-)
  10. I'm getting a better grip on it. Getting my protein in. Had to buy non-flavored one because the flavored I purchased a head of time are WAY to sweet / intense for me. Baby steps! I'm still fighting pneumonia :-(
  11. Hi, I'm not your topical sleever. Theoretically I am 3 weeks post op but I haven't been eating or drinking during that time (due to complications) Now I'm home and on pure liquid. My stomach is 3 weeks ahead (healing wise) of my eating stage. I'm dizzy and weak just on the broth but I don't want to be stupid and eat things I shouldn't. I mean, I still have to learn to use my new tool. I don't have a NUT so not sure how to navigate here. Btw. I'm afraid to introduce carbs back in (as I use to be a total Carboholic)

    Hospital stay

I came in late late PM, had the surgery early AM. But here before they let you out they have to do a leak test. I got a fever. They didn't let me leave. They suspected a whole in my stomach but they couldn't find it (for days!) I got a bad infection and they had to open me up twice more. So.. what was suppose to be a max 48hrs turned into 21days! Complications DO happen and they suck!
  13. Hi. I had my sleeve done 9/21 and only today, I'm leaving the hospital. I've had complications on top of complications lol! It's been the toughest 3 weeks of my life. It's nice to see how others are doing. I'm happy to soon be able to get into the flow of things. Grateful for this community too. I need support. I feel like I'm weakest I have ever been.
