  1. Hi I'm almost 3 weeks out (surgery date 4/21) and have some concerns. I able to drink-normal and have a hard time telling when I'm full. When I get all my Water and Protein in one day the next I have no appetite or want to drink the next day. I'm scared i stretched my sleeve had duodenal switch by the way. I'm still on the puréed phase till Friday. I'm worried if I can't get this figured out I will fail after everything and either won't lose the or will regain quickly. In do have an appointment Wednesday but any help will help

  3. I am on day three and struggling so bad! I just want this headache to go away and I want FOOD!

Hang in there it does get better. I'm on day 7 surgery is next Friday and I had headaches and would close my eyes and see food. I was hangry and cranky lol. Now it is so simple Sunday I'll start the all liquid part and hope it is quick. It's funny how a normal week flys by but these two weeks have dragged lol. Good luck I know you can do it.

  4. Hi everyone. I have been on here quite a while but did not post much aside from congratulating others on their journeys. I guess it never really felt real for me until now. Started this journey on November last year and got the last of my testing done by beginning of March. Submitted and approved week and a half later. Had to wait for surgeon's schedule to open. Surgery is tomorrow and I am feeling quite calm. I did my preop liquid diet the past 2 weeks and have gotten past the anxious state. I am wondering now if I am a bit too calm or will nerves kick in later? I had gallbladder removed late last year and egd was also under anesthesia. Am I feeling too comfy because of that? Is this even normal? Just can't wait to be on the loser's bench and start on my rebirth! Good luck to those still waiting. Your time will come. Aloha[emoji3]

Congratulations I know all to well about a long wait.

  5. Hi I am 10 days away from surgery and having a horrible time with my liquid diet. I have had a stomach virus and Migraines severely. I am a diabetic and my feet are killing me. I think I have more cracks on them. So it's been hard to walk. Also loved the Premier shakes b4 I had to drink 2 a day. Now I can barely choke them down. So I guess I am looking for any advice what might help my nausea or migraines. This week is 2 shakes and 1 meal next week is full liquids. Any advice?

Hi I am in day two of the liver reduction diet and am also diabetic. I have had slight headaches but my doctor recommended Bariatric Advantage shakes they have a few good flavors such as the chocolate, orange cream, and iced latte. They are not as sweet or even sweet at all compared to the Premier Protein. I am also allowed 2 Snacks by the same company. I find that eating warm chicken broth or the sugarfree Jello helps. Good luck and keep on hanging in there it's all worth it !!

  6. I FINALLY have a surgery date of April 21st. After starting in 2015 and getting to the point of sending my information off to insurance and finding the Dr. no longer accepted my insurance from having to start all over just about I am finally having the DS surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Tyner at Rex hospital in Raleigh!!!!! So excited about starting my new life it has been a long time coming. If anyone else has had surgery at Rex hospital how was the experience?

  7. I just finished my 6 month supervised with PCP, but nurse will not schedule surgery until A1C is 10 and under. 3 months ago met with endocrinologist and she changed my medication A1C went from 9 to 12. I need to get this down before appointment on 6/2. Went to PCP had it checked just to see where I'm at it's a 11. What to do.....HELP!!!!

  8. Hi I am 37 years old and on my last visit with my PCP. I have completed Nutrition and Psych evaluation as well as had all blood work and endoscopy. I plan on having DS surgery because of my condition and once my weight is stable will be able to be fitted for my 3rd prosthetic due to the fluctuations of my weight. I am SUPER excited about starting my new life with my new tool. So if anyone has any suggestions or advice or just happen to know anyone in the same boat please help. Any and all information would be great. Thanks in advance and God bless!!

  9. Hi I'm from the Greensboro area but plan on having my surgery at Duke Regional. My Doctor is Dr. Park. He seems like a great doctor but for the past month I have left messages with nurse as what is my next step for surgery. I have not gotten a call back or anything. I left messages with administrative assistant and or nurses for her to contact me, still nothing. I live almost 2 hrs away so getting an appointment for what can be explained over the phone is crazy. I was wondering if I should switch to Dr. Sudan since you all speak so highly of him or wait it out.

  10. I have completed everything and waiting on a surgery date. This will make week 3 the first week nurse was on vacation. I don't want to become a stalker but I'm excited and anxious. I have been trying to get this done for 2 years now and I have finally made it this far. I know I should be patient and try to get my mind off of it, but I'm stalking my phone like a teenager lol.

  11. i have UHC and i also have state insurance as a secondary so my surgery will be completly free. because in MD if you have medicaid as a secondary insurance they pick up the bill for what ever your primary doesn't cover

I have the same type of insurance. I'm in NC I have met all the requirements but am waiting for a date from my doctor's office, this has been the longest most exciting wait of my life. Did you have a long wait for a surgery date?
