  1. Hi I'm almost 3 weeks out (surgery date 4/21) and have some concerns. I able to drink-normal and have a hard time telling when I'm full. When I get all my water and protein in one day the next I have no appetite or want to drink the next day. I'm scared i stretched my sleeve had duodenal switch by the way. I'm still on the puréed phase till Friday. I'm worried if I can't get this figured out I will fail after everything and either won't lose the or will regain quickly. In do have an appointment Wednesday but any help will help

  4. Hang in there it does get better. I'm on day 7 surgery is next Friday and I had headaches and would close my eyes and see food. I was hangry and cranky lol. Now it is so simple Sunday I'll start the all liquid part and hope it is quick. It's funny how a normal week flys by but these two weeks have dragged lol. Good luck I know you can do it.
  5. I'm on the 21st too super excited. I think I talk about it everyday lol.
  6. April 21st DS surgery
  7. I'm on day three on my pre op diet and 12 days from surgery. I tried all flavors of Bariatric Advantage and enjoy the chocolate, orange cream and iced latte. The others I can't seem to get down because of smell or too sweet. Good luck though.
  8. Congratulations I know all to well about a long wait.
  9. The DS how is Rex hospital?
  10. Mine is also the 21st at Rex hospital in NC
  11. Hi I am in day two of the liver reduction diet and am also diabetic. I have had slight headaches but my doctor recommended Bariatric Advantage shakes they have a few good flavors such as the chocolate, orange cream, and iced latte. They are not as sweet or even sweet at all compared to the premier protein. I am also allowed 2 snacks by the same company. I find that eating warm chicken broth or the sugarfree jello helps. Good luck and keep on hanging in there it's all worth it !!
  12. I FINALLY have a surgery date of April 21st. After starting in 2015 and getting to the point of sending my information off to insurance and finding the Dr. no longer accepted my insurance from having to start all over just about I am finally having the DS surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Tyner at Rex hospital in Raleigh!!!!! So excited about starting my new life it has been a long time coming. If anyone else has had surgery at Rex hospital how was the experience?

  16. Hi I am 37 years old and on my last visit with my PCP. I have completed Nutrition and Psych evaluation as well as had all blood work and endoscopy. I plan on having DS surgery because of my condition and once my weight is stable will be able to be fitted for my 3rd prosthetic due to the fluctuations of my weight. I am SUPER excited about starting my new life with my new tool. So if anyone has any suggestions or advice or just happen to know anyone in the same boat please help. Any and all information would be great. Thanks in advance and God bless!!
  17. Hi I'm from the Greensboro area but plan on having my surgery at Duke Regional. My Doctor is Dr. Park. He seems like a great doctor but for the past month I have left messages with nurse as what is my next step for surgery. I have not gotten a call back or anything. I left messages with administrative assistant and or nurses for her to contact me, still nothing. I live almost 2 hrs away so getting an appointment for what can be explained over the phone is crazy. I was wondering if I should switch to Dr. Sudan since you all speak so highly of him or wait it out.
  18. I have completed everything and waiting on a surgery date. This will make week 3 the first week nurse was on vacation. I don't want to become a stalker but I'm excited and anxious. I have been trying to get this done for 2 years now and I have finally made it this far. I know I should be patient and try to get my mind off of it, but I'm stalking my phone like a teenager lol.
  19. I have the same type of insurance. I'm in NC I have met all the requirements but am waiting for a date from my doctor's office, this has been the longest most exciting wait of my life. Did you have a long wait for a surgery date?
