  1. Ohhh I hit the big stall about 4-6weeks ago.. I posted a few weeks back that i thought I was over it, but noooooo.....I was stuck between 327-329 for weeks.. it was not until this last friday i hit 324 then this morning 323...so fingers crossed I hope this stall is over...but I have enjoyed dropping another half pants size so stall are not that bad, other things are happening within our bodies during this stall period.. I had to go by new undies for me during this stall and I did not have to go to big and tall (WHOOT) I was able to walk into the jockey store and get stuff off the rack in XL.. before I had to go to casual male big and tall... no more spending $$$ for 2 pair of undies, now i get them for cheap at the outlet.. We need to put together a pamphlet for folks starting this journey so they will know, not only will your health improve (re-gained my KING status with the wife in the bedroom tap-out! WHOOOT), but also I am saving money on groceries and in clothing cost. ~MOJOCAMI

    10 month surgiversary

yes stalls are bitch, but congrats to all for sticking with it and for those that past there stalls happy dance!!!!
  3. Hi!! For the first 2-3 days I think so..after the 3rd day I was able to move around pretty easy, but the first 24hrs post discharge I was sleeping and my wife reminded me to sip Protein shakes.. for me i was not hungry so it was not having someone push me to get Fluid in the first 2 days post discharge. 3rd day I was flying well on my own, taking meds well drinking so-so .. So my suggestion would be, if someone wants to come help post discharge please accept it, providing your can tolerate there presence. ~MojoCAMI

I sound like a bath tub!

No gulping slow slips until you get a hang of how your sleeve wants liquids sent down.. I still sometimes sound like a bath tub (love that reference).. but usually when that happens its because I have drunk something to fast.. also super cold liquids do it to me as well... usually after a few blop blops gurgles I then burp and all is well.
  5. You are so very welcome, friend. I wrote it as I felt it.--still feel it. You (and myself)- need to remember- are not alone with this "rain storm" of feelings during our WLS journey. Together maybe we can avoid being swept away by a "tsunami" of negativity. I know "we" can. Let's not give up on ourselves or each other----OK? Never ending prayers going up. Well said, OP, dont stop.. keep going, stalls suck I just go through one, lasted 3-4weeks...you just have to realize it did not take 10days for you to gain all the weight, its not going to take 10days to lose it.. if you remember that and enjoy each day that you have increased flexibility, increased cardiovascular and energy, you realize it was worth it..

    Spicy food sensitivity

Fire in the hole!!!! whoooo I should have waited until month 4th or 5th butt nooooo my "blankity-blank-blank" just had to have thai food after I was cleared for all food types.. I tell you, there are sometimes in your life when you wish you had listened, I thought I was going to to have to go to the ER because my tummy would not stop burning.. for you Anime fans...nine-tails was in my stomach having a party with Orichimaru... all I could do was lay in the bed and turn from left to right, eventually I fell asleep and 3hrs later it was much better or so I thought... remember I started off this post with "Fire in the hole"... well after the party in my tummy (dj lance) I had to go drop the kids off at the pool... Ohh sweet goat gods...that was the worst bathroom exit experience I have had with spicy food ever... I don't know what my sleeve added to the digestive process but my rear was not happy with me... I can say now, I can handle thai and spicy salsa without issue, but I think I tried my luck a little early at 10weeks post-op.. The end.. ~MojoCAMI

Is it really that MUCH trouble!?

Sorry I promise I will do better... give me another chance ~MojoCAMI
  9. Usually my stalls only lasted a few days (i know I know, for some that is not a stall), but fear not.. i have recently completed a almost nearly 4 week stall (I think).. I went in for a primary care visit about 4 weeks ago and weight 326.. then (because I weigh myself daily) I saw the number go up to 327, then a few days later 328... then week 2 329.. then 330.. then it topped out a 331.. whew...boy I am happy to report that after dealing with this stall, not drastically changing any food habits, drinking a touch more crystal lite, a few less sun chips and touch more weight lifting I am now back to 327 as of this morning. so while it seems odd to read "embrace the stall", during this stall I went down -1 pants size just found out this morning, i purchased some pants from goodwill i knew were too small.. they fit now. ohh I read in another post that during the stall your go to bathroom to tinkle more, I have to say that is the case, but I was not paying attention since my bathroom routine is all off anyway. but to close out, don't fret I weighed myself everyday and saw half pound movements up and down I just told myself, my body is restructuring and when its done it will let go of more pounds when its ready, the best thing i can do is stay active and up beat, continue to be happy about the pounds and sizes I have lost and wait patiently for the next leg of the journey. ~MojoCAMI
  10. sorry duplicate post
  11. I was in a tough spot post procedure. since I had mine done last November, December work team luncheons and dinners popped up. Although there were at restaurants, I ordered a full bowl of soup whatever they had that I thought would be easy to keep down and sipped that. Also hopefully you still have some anti nausea pills, if so pop one 30min before leaving for dinner.. it will help.

    Giving up the scale...

Not even going to lie, I confess and my sister calls me crazy.. but ever since I have gotten home from surgery I have weighed myself in the morning.. There are only a handful of days I can recall I missed weighing myself. While I knew it was more than likely not the greats thing for me to do, I could not help it.. i was so fixated on seeing that number drop I had to check daily.. now, i do not check multiple times a day.. I am a once a day checker.. in the morning only.. now that i have lost a few pounds, the scale is not moving as fast..and I take it in stride.. but I realize I am not going to stop until I hit the magic number that feels right to me..
  13. Oh, my whole first few weeks was like an endless pity party. I probably cried every single day. Some days probably every waking hour! Hang in there. It really does get easier. I promise! The pre-procedure diet, helped at bit since it was liquid, but I understand when i went back to work post procedure I had to avoid the lunch room and declined most of the happy our invites until I was comfortable drinking Water and not being ashamed to say it.. .. I assure you this will pass by your soft food stage you will be so happy that you have new world of options at your figure tips.. for me when i was cleared for all foods types, I was craving salad.. of all things friken salad..go figure. keep up the good work and welcome to the otherside. ~MojoCAMI
  14. Bingo! @fullyalive.. 1st day post procedure they told me I had to drink what looked like a 3-4oz cup of liquid and I should be able to finish it in 2hrs..bull I barely touched it.. I sucked on ICE most of my time in hospital.. I may have gotten 1oz in a 4hr period in. Selection in Protein Powder is crucial, we all have different pallets I started out with EAS which was great pre-procedure but was horrible post procedure to me.. I then moved to syntrax-nectar flavors after reading so many positive post here and now I am a isopure fan.. but again, I was only getting down 2-3 oz post procedure.. what I was able to drink was crystal light just like you.. so I made sure I got as many oz of crystal light in as I could and sipped the Protein Drink where tolerable... eventually I want to say, 10-14days out, I was finally able to finish one 8oz cup of protein drink.. but then the opposite happens. I was no longer staying up on non-protein liquids..arrrrgghhhh... so you will have to find a balance and each person is different.. When it comes to hunger, I was not hungry post procedure for days, but I had stuck a post it note to my fridge that had the protein and liquid goals I need to meet and why.. the why is simple and some have already mentioned in here..Dehydration you want to desperately avoid it.. so if you can't get protein down right now fine... keep sucking down the crystal light.. the protein side of things will pick up I promise..
