    Frustrating

The 'stuck' feeling is a sign you are full, if you're eating yogurt first you may well be filling yourself up pre-meal. I don't know how far out you are but you may only be able to eat a few small bites at first. Sent from my SM-G900H using the BariatricPal App
  2. Protein needs are simple to work out, just take your weight in kg, then multiply by 0.8 For example, I weigh 244lb, which is 110.7kg. (2.2lbs to the kg) 110.7 x 0.8 = 88.56g protein a day. Sent from my SM-G900H using the BariatricPal App

    My content has disappeared

It is, thank you. I noticed some people's tickers are back, but mine wasn't. However if you go into your tickers and re-add it to your signature it shows up, just in case anyone is having trouble.

    Any sleevers in the UK?

Yes, that's right, they're the people who organised it with hispital/surgeon for me. Sent from my SM-G900H using the BariatricPal App

    Feb 23 Sleevers!

The hunger may go away, for a little bit after surgery you still have the hunger hormone in your body. Also, some people don't feel the restriction until they hit mushy/solid foods.

    Feb 23 Sleevers!

Don't be scared, the infection is literally the only problem I've had so far, and it was only because the two that got infected were between my stomach and the roll above it so they rubbed (the stitches were possibly too tight also, as we had trouble getting them out). Everything else has been fine. No gas pain, no vomiting, thus far no acid refluc *knocking wood as I type all of this*

    Feb 23 Sleevers!

This is my biggest incision, though to be fair they got infected (fixed now) which might explain why they still look quite red across. Surgery was Feb 2nd. The others are ok and smaller.

    Feb 23 Sleevers!

Its nice that your incisions all look quite small, mine big one is quite long
  13. I wouldn't call four days an 'embrace' so much as 'a quick fumble in the alley'. I'm sorry you're feeling bad and it does suck when the scale doesn't move, but if it's going to freak you out change to weekly weigh ins minimum.
  14. Why will he/she not be happy? 90lbs in 6 months is 15lbs a month, so you're actually a little above target?
  15. This video was posted in a private facebook group I'm a part of and I thought some people might want to watch it. I found it interesting and he explains things quite clearly and simply (though I don't think they treat it simplistically, which was nice). The title says 'how to stop stomach stretching' but it's actually talking about eating post op and some of the reasons people regain, how to avoid it etc. It also discusses how portion size changes further out post op an some other things.

Sorry about your husband. My pain level was quite high for the first two days, then it eased off midway through the third. Getting the drain out helped a lot. Sent from my SM-G900H using the BariatricPal App

    Struggling!

I don't know your guidelines in terms of when you can eat mushy food/solids etc, but a lot of people I know had issues keeping stuff down until they hit solid food. I had my surgery the day before yours and have been lucky enough not to have to deal with nausea. If your changing stages (liquid to mush to solid) your weight will be out of whack, don't worry, it's temporary. Your weight loss may also stall, as long as you keep on doing what you're supoosed to then again, it will be temporary and is nothing to worry about.
  18. I saw some butternut squash noodles at the shop yesterday that looked amazing.
  19. I didn't ask my GPs opinion, I rang and told them I was having the surgery and did they have the facilities to help me post op. Fortunately my GP was willing to help me, but I would say that getting another doctor if you have a choice.
  20. My instructions for when I go into solid food is 80-100g per serving, stop eating after 20 minutes.
  21. You might stall when you start the new stage, but don't panic it's completely normal. As the above poster said, just keep doing what your supposed to do. Sent from my SM-G900H using BariatricPal

    Pre-Op diet question

It could be for a few reasons, one to get you used to eating smaller portions, two to make sure you're also keeping your fat intake down as the point of pre-op is to reduce the liver. Sent from my SM-G900H using BariatricPal

    GSV with one kidney

There was another post about this issue recently, someone who had kidney disease in one of his I think? Would you be okay getting enough Protein in post op? (I'm assuming you've talked about that with your doc) Sent from my SM-G900H using BariatricPal
  24. I won't be cleared for full out weight training at the gym until 8 weeks out. I can walk for the first 4, do cardio at 6. Sent from my SM-G900H using BariatricPal

Time off for stay at home Mom

Hi Perforce,Thanks for sharing your experience. It really helps to know how others have fared. I'm sorry you had an infection, that is scarey. But glad to hear you were still able to get around. I didn't realize until today that you are really tired on the liquid phase. It makes sense, it just didn't occur to me. Thanks for the info:) I haven't been too bad actually, I'm going on the reports of others, but I don't have people to look after or a home to run, so my life is easier than most post-op.
