February sleevers!
YES ME!!!!!!!! My last appointment with my PCP on this "supervised" diet ends that month!!! What did your dr do? Mine just suggested cut backs, she didn't give me a calorie limit.

Waiting period? Incredibly frustrated!
So about this supervised diet, that is what I'm doing now. She didn't give me a specific diet just things to try and cut back on. Did you lose any weight? I'm scared to lose to much that would disqualify me for the surgery. Help!

Waiting period? Incredibly frustrated!
My insurance requires the 6 month dreaded wait...but I have never heard of an additional wait! It is also my personal experience that the more you call and question, the more crazy answers you end up getting! I know it's crazy frustrating but just let your surgeons office handle it.

Pre-Op NOT all liquid diet
So going through all my paperwork from my surgeon, I find that I will not be on an all liquid diet 2 weeks pre op. My diet will have 2 protein shakes a sensible dinner along with 3 snacks throughout the day. Dinner is a 4oz meat with 2-3 cups of veggies and the snacks are 1cup veggies or a single serving of my choice of dairy product like yogurt or cottage cheese. Anyone else have a pre op diet that was NOT all liquid?

Tomorrow is the big day

Insurance approval
Misty, all my insurance required was that I see my dr once every 30 days and talk about NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING but my weight! How it affects my daily life blah blah blah...it's basically a bi7ch fest about how fat I am for a few minutes. Next she asks what are you going to change this month to try to lose some? Last month I said "I'll ask for non fat milk in my lattes and walk up and down my street a few times a week." She then suggests a low carb diet and I leave. Easy peasy! BUT, whatever you weighed at your PCP office, DONT GO OVER!! You can lose but don't gain!!! Also don't lose so much that your bmi goes below qualifying.

1st Nutrition Visit
I just called my surgeon. His nurse said unless I was having severe gerd or stomach problems he wasn't going to do one! ONE LESS THING TO WORRY ABOUT!

1st Nutrition Visit
Did anyone have to have an EGD as part of the pre-op testing? Some say they did some say they didn't.

Ummm anyone tried to eat the baby food for your puréed foods? Some baby food is really yummy and the jars come in different sizes so your not having to make a bunch and there's no waste.

To Tell or Not to Tell?
I would rather her notice and be motivated to lose herself rather than tell her and her feel like its unattainable for her to get the surgery instead.
