I know, crazy - right? They know more about my battle with my weight than anyone else . . . but I've only been seeing them a couple of years also. Without co-pays, I don't go to the doctor much anymore. I had a doctor in the last town I lived, but he died. Hard to get a letter from him.

I had my surgery around 6 am in the morning and was released around 1 pm that afternoon. Was perfectly fine/comfortable/healthy. Took pain meds for less than 48 hours and was pretty much 85-90% within 5 days.
It was an amazing experience with zero complications/regrets!

I'm in the same boat right now. I have 2 more nutrition visits, and should be able to schedule surgery in December or January . . . BUT, I just started Keto. Cleaned sugar and carbs OUT of my house and my life. Made the decision, and realized that sugar was poison to me. I lost almost 10lbs the first week, and the weight loss has slowed down a little. I'm giving myself until December 15th to make the decision. If I'm still losing, and haven't been cheating, then I will postpone. My insurance doesn't reset until June 30, 2016 . . so I have until then for my deductible. I talked to my cousin, and asked her (she's on Keto, and had the sleeve 2 years ago) if she was me, would she have the surgery - she said YES! For her, (and for me typically), we are all gung ho on the diets for a month or two, then we fall off the wagon. I will most likely still do it, but I'm not going to rush my decision.

Yes, it's a low carb, moderate Protein, high fat diet (google ketogenic). I'm trying not to be too anal about it, and just try to eat better. My typical day . . .
Breakfast - nectar Fuzzy Naval first thing or Isopure Dutch chocolate with unsweetened coconut milk
AM snack - Boiled egg and sausage, LOTS of Water
lunch - salad or Lettuce wraps with "good" lunchmeat and full fat cheeses. Today I had 1/2 cup of homemade low carb/high Protein gumbo also.
PM Snack - Quest or Atkins Bar, about 10 nuts (pecans/macadamia/almond), 1/2 tsp of unsweetened coconut, LOTS of Water
dinner - 6-8 oz of protein, 1-2 serving of veggies
Dessert - one square of 85% chocolate OR 1/8 a Quest bar (divided them up and put in baggies in my candy jar) OR sugar free Jello with sugar free cool whip
Nothing crazy . . . I'll have to eat a lot less if I get the surgery. I'd like to be better about "intuitive eating" and only eating when I'm TRULY hungry.

Thanks, I am typically like that too. But for some reason I have not been having any trouble following this high Protein diet for 8 months now. I don't feel hungry and don't seem to be having the uncontrollable urges that I used to have. I also am very aware that I am addicted to food and can fall off the wagon at any time. (That is why I am constantly reading BariatricPal to keep me motivated and for the support.) I wish you well on your journey. Is Keto a special program?
