  1. I'm coming up on 6 months post-op and I feel like I'm failing because I'm always hungry and giving into my feeling of hunger. I try to wait to see if it passes, but it doesn't so I end up eating. I eat Protein, but that doesn't help as I'm starving again 20 min. after I eat. Is anyone else going through this or have been through this? What are you doing/did you do? I haven't lost any weight the past month, which I feel shouldn't be happening this soon after surgery.

  2. And at work, my vision literally goes black with little "stars" when I get stressed or frustrated at a co-worker. I am 3 months post-op and hope this ends soon.

That's scary. Have you had your blood pressure checked? This is not something to take lightly.

I agree. I had high blood pressure during my pregnancy and the same thing happened. Every time I go to my pcp, my bp is normal though.

  3. I was just messaging my surgery family about this! I've been so unstable the past few weeks. I started dating an old friend and I get so butt hurt by certain things he says or DOESN'T say. Things that wouldn't phase me pre-op. And at work, my vision literally goes black with little "stars" when I get stressed or frustrated at a co-worker. I am 3 months post-op and hope this ends soon.

  4. I'm in this program. It is such an amazing program! The staff there are knowledgeable, friendly, and they make sure you are prepared. I'm on the same timeline is Deana. I had my first class in October and my surgery is Feb 16th. Some pre-op advice I will give is to ask a lot of questions at the nutrition class! It's a wonderful class with a ton of information. Good luck on your journey.

  5. I have Kaiser Nor Cal and my company doesn't offer Bariatric Surgery in our plans. I called Kaiser and asked if I could still qualify if my plan specified it didn't cover the surgery and they told me that as long as we qualify (40 BMI or higher, 35 or higher with co-morb.) then they would cover the surgery. So even if the plan states it doesn't cover the surgery, they still do if you qualify. It's really confusing. Call Member Services :)

  6. Congrats to both of you :)

I'm attending the seminar next Tuesday and then my doctor will refer me to a surgeon. In Northern CA, Kaiser doesn't require the Options courses. From what I've read, the surgeon will give me a weight loss goal and when I reach that goal, I can schedule the surgery. I'm just stressing about that, because I have issues losing weight.

  7. Hey everyone! Congrats on all of your weight loss journeys. I'm just now beginning mine. I am going through Kaiser and haven't met with my surgeon yet. Does anyone know what weight Kaiser uses for the start weight? Do they use past visit weight or weight from the orientation? I'm just trying to plan out my diet and exercise plan before my surgeon gives me my pre-surgery weight loss goal. Do you know if Sacramento Kaiser goes by 10% like So Cal or do they have a different metric?

Thank you and good luck to you all!
