Wow....I am surprised that they allow such a huge weight increase as we get older on that chart. It seems like the older we get the better it would be to be lighter. Considering we are not as strong as we are were in our 20's and carrying extra weight means it's harder on our joints and body!

I am 5 weeks post op and struggle to get in 300ml a day which I know is way too low. I flavour my Water too but it doesn't make a huge difference to my consumption . I worry about it but can't take more than sips. If I could swig it back or even drink normally it would be OK but more than sipping hurts. Will this improve?
It will improve...just have to be patience. For some people they can drink a lot more than others but like me, I can't drink too much to quick...Hang in there...you are still adjusting!

I got share it's nice to know I am not alone. It's so difficult to guzzle our Water but then we are also on well Water. I was at someone's house the other day and she gave me a glass of water from her refrig with ice and I could of had 10 of them. So wierd how it's hard to swallow some water and not all!!

Great ideas!! I never thought to put mint in my water..yum!

It's strange bit I don't get thirstyour or crave Water when I might crave or need it.
Water is also hard to take down. So I have to have some flavor like Vitamin water in order to hydrate. My Dr said it's because waters PH is different and for some people they don't do well with waters PH.
My weight loss is slow and I struggle to drink anything everyday. Is anyone else got these issues?
Ty!

It's normal to feel tired the first 3 months especially while your body is still recovering.
This is a major surgery and still important to listen to your body and rest.

For me, overwhelming sleepiness comes on if I eat too much. Try cutting your meal sizes down (by half or a third) and see if that helps. Good luck!
When I eat fast is how I end up overeating as well.

I couldn't do this journey if I weighed everyday or anyday. I don't weigh myself and if I go to the Dr's I turn around and ask them not to tell me what my weight is. If I don't want to turn around on the scale I just look up so I don't see it and again ask them not to tell me.
I lose SUPER SLOW and I am not 100% perfect on the eating scale either. But I have lost and I know without a scale when I am gaining and when I am losing. All based on what food choices I am making and bottom line that's no secret.
Like today, I feel pretty lousy and it's all because I've been eating junk food for the last 3 days. I know it's emotional crap too because my youngest is moving out and soon I will be that empty nester and I can tell you it is affecting my emotions. That's something that's real and I got to deal with the emotional swings. Exercise helps.
However, if I weighed on a scale it wouldn't help but just drive me into a pretty bad depressed state because I see the negative results of my emotional swing lately.
I know what I have to do today. Just jump on the band wagon and get back to low carbs and high Protein and get myself mentally more stable with exercise and drinking more fluids.
Not sure I answered your question but bottom line at the age of 54 I know that the scale and me will never be good friends so why have it in my life? It's never served me well!

The biggest issue is not getting enough fluids in you. You can live and be comfortable longer than you think on Water alone but if you don't get enough water and keep yourself hydrated that is when you start feeling like absolute hell. Dizzy, weak and exhausted.
I think this is my problem.

I get the Protein part just wonder what you do with your carbs. Do you factor them and how much or maybe not at all. How it's working for you.
Thank you!

I've struggled with severe Constipation. To the point where I had to use enema bags to get release every 3 to 4 days because I lost the urge to go completely.
I've struggled all my life and 54 years old.
I tried it all!!@@@@.....Then one day I discovered Dr Shultz (AKA Herbdoc.) "Formula one". It works and works good!!!! I go several times a day now and I'm consistent. Been regular for 3 years since starting it. I take it everyday religiously.
My skin has changed and body.I'm all around heathier and I get the urge to go like normal people are suppose too.
I started out with 3 pills as recommended by my chiropractor. Then I advance to 4 later. Now I'm on the extra strength after 2 years. I prefer 1 pill too and it is powerful stuff. There are no cramps or anything. If you struggle with chronic constipation wait until you see what come out the first 2 days. I was going solid poops almost every 3 hours. All herbs too.
One thing though..it has a hot pepper in it and you want that pill to get down with a good wash of liquids. A couple times I felt it burn but discovered 3 sips of coconut Water fixed it. Bottom line gulp it down...
This stuff is a miracle.

Perhaps the best skill to learn and try with people is how to change a topic quickly when it comes to your weight. As soon as it starts be ready to ask someone else a question like how's your daughter. Did you hear it's gonna rain tomorrow. Who are you voting for? Yada Yada yada....good luck. Hope they leave you alone some.I'm exhausted, specialty because I'm little underweight and that's all we talk about. I'm so tired of it. I start telling people I'm feeling better, I'm eating a lot! ( unfortunately I still can't eat much) with some proper I feel like they are sincere, with others I think they are just jealous. I can't eat out with friends anymore because they will watch what I eat and talk about my weight loss etc. can we talk about something else? At church everyone ask me about my weight, my family and friends all ask everyday if I eat. That's it! I'm tired to talk about. Even if I try to explain they said: well eat ice cream. No matter I explain to them I suffer from Dumping syndrome. I give up!

Extensions glued in will make matters worse. Take Biotin and hold tight. Your hair will come back.

It was $6500 and my surgery was in October 2015' my weight loss has been slow beer I've lost close to 30 pounds since I started. Good luck to you. I hope you give the Weight control Specialist clinic where Dr Ortiz works a go. You be very happy.

What is the longest stall you've had and at what months after post op were they until you finally dropped?
My stall started at 8 weeks out and I'm still the same weight at 14 weeks. I've list inches just hoping the scale will drop some day soon.

I also had a 32Fr bougie with the staple line oversewn to make it even tighter. Never had any issues and still no GERD at 2 years out. Love my teeny tummy.
I had the same surgeon and so far so good!

Kill them with kindness! I'm sure that sounds tough to do when they are getting under your skin but bottom line don't let their crap get the best of you! That's what they want from you.
In their eyes, you are now changing, getting healthier, looking leaner and they can't say bad crap about that. Infact, they may have been talking about you long ago and your weight for all you know but not in front of you. They may have been bringing all the high calorie treats just to watch you indulge and so they can take pleasure in this. Sick I know but that's what people do when they want to "UP" themselves but guess what? That's all gone now. They can't watch you eat that ice cream or cake so they got to put you down in front of the world because of it. The only difference now is your reaction because trust me, anyone else in the room I am sure found their comments to be very RUDE besides you.
So just smile and pretend like it doesn't eat at you. Watch them drown and trust me in time "without a reaction" from you they are going to get no where but look like idiots to the rest of the folks in the room.
Quote; "No reaction means no action". Let them fall alone and let it go!! IGNORE!!
Their still jerks but do your best to kill them with kindness! It back fires in such a great way!

I ask the same question when I was first sleeve. So I have learn since then:
What I thought was hunger was not actual hunger but my stomach making noises from the Water I just drank or whatever it may be. You stomach will start to grumble more now and again "it's not hunger". I thought forsure that my stomach growling but nope it was grumbling. Close to the same but not at all the same.
Ignore it as hunger but accept it as the new you. One thing about being sleeve is we have noisy tiny stomachs! Mine is making noises as I type. lol

To eat slow...I still sometimes eat to fast and get over full and uncomfortable if I'm not careful.

I would not tell your friends if you can change that. Pretend you are losing weight on your own.
Mexico is where I went and I was fine. Better care than I ever expected.
Energy level has not improved to the level it once was!

I had surgery 10/15 and I still find myself lacking in energy. I take my Vitamins, eat Protein but could do better and drink liquid but could be better, however, before surgery I always had a TON of energy.
I just don't have that kind of energy I use to have and I don't know what to do. I even find it hard to get motivated to work out when before surgery I was always committed and go at least 5 days a week.
Is anyone else feeling this way?
