  1. guys I'm 2 weeks post op . & im struggling with the shakes . I have a big family so there's always food prepared and I eat a tiny tiny bit of what's available even though most foods aren't in my diet . I went to the nutritionist today cause I had an appt and she set me straight so I don't need any scolding but if you are whatever . I just have a question when can I start introducing fruits into my diet for fruit smoothies and Protein shakes . What's so bad about me having a fruit smoothie with no sugar and 40 grams of Protein .

You should have asked the nutritionist that. Also a fruit smoothie with no sugar is a bit of an oxymoron. If you're having fruit, you're getting sugar. Where would the 40 grams of protein come from?

Hahaha good point . I meant added sugar.

  3. I am sorry that you were sick after surgery. I didn't have anything like that but I did have a rough first month because the liquid diet and pureed foods were not appetizing and I wasn't getting the Protein that I needed. Eventually things got better. As you heal the fatigue will wane. You will be able to eat more choices which helps to ease anxiety about eating.

From your post I see that you feel bad that you won't be able to overeat and drink with your friends. That may be true, so why don't you do something different with them? Go to a concert, dancing, rollerskating, miniature golfing.... You can be social. You don't have to overeat to be social. Also, try not to mourn the things that got you to this point in the first place. At 20 you have some unique opportunities that the rest of us didn't have, the biggest one is to nip your health problems in the bud before they could become unmanageable.

My advice to you is have faith in yourself. Your experience is not going to be that same as someone else's experience. You have to make the choice that once you are feeling better you will stick to the diet plan laid out for you in order for you to meet and maintain your goal. Don't worry about gaining weight back. Have confidence in yourself that you can and will keep the weight off.

I know you can do it!

    This is helping me

  4. I kind have been slacking on my pre op diet . Like I commit throughout the day and at the end I'm just starving and bitter about the world and cave in to a somewhat healthy alternative outside of the list of foods you can eat with the 2 week diet . Also I been smoking weed everyday still I told the psychologist on my team and he told me as long as I dont smoke at least 6 weeks post op my operation he told me it was no big deal , just watch out for munchies . Which I honestly don't really get . And my operation is oct 6 . Anyways I'm reading the forums and I see people are more anti weed and received other news from their doctors . Anyways ... Should I be concerned about complications with my surgery.

  5. I'm getting this done in one week. I told like 3-5 friends and most of all my family knows . But there's still a lot of friends I have that I don't know how to build the urge to discuss them my medical & personal stuff. I'm nervous to see how it's going to work out . Glad to see I'm not the only one that's going thru this

I just turned 21 how old are you guys ?
