    Need advice

my one rule of thumb is if there is something you can eat that is more nutrient dense go with that. Bread tends be a poor choice when it come to being nutrient dense so I avoid it. You get out what you put in, so if you stick to foods that you get the most nutrition and few carbs and fat you are going to be better off in the long run

    Food intolerance

I don`t have that but I have a very strange one and it is broccoli. I use to eat it all the time now one bit and a feel like I want to hurl. only happened post op
  3. The best advice anyone can give you is educate yourself on both procedures and then talk to you doctor to see which one is best for you. They both have there positives and negatives you and your doctor can figure out what's best.
  4. Get up and walk as much as you can it does help
  5. My doc told me save your money and use good old fashion Flintstone multi Vitamins. Taste good and I am a lab tech so I can assure you my labs are great too
  6. You don`t feel any different. How is it suppose to feel? You may think I sound a little mean but, I do not think most people would "feel" a difference if they were 10 or so pounds lighter. If you are doing everything you are suppose to be doing weight loss will happen. We all lose at different rates, some faster some slower.

    Does it really hurt?

does it hurt? Well keep in mind pain and tolerance of it is different for every person. It is a major surgery and depending on which way you go they are either removing or rearranging some of your digestive tract. So yea there is some pain involved but from my point of view it was well worth it and I would do it again if I had to make the choice over.

    congratz!
  12. Well I got an appointment date of the 14th for some plastic work to be done around the mid section. I am not sure how it will go and I am a bit nervous as to if I will like the results or not. It may sound a bit self centered but I am hoping they take enough so I am happy with it after putting myself through it. I will do a before VGS and after plastic pics when it heals up a bit. Wish me luck!
  13. Well I am back out and about, made it through without a hitch. I have to admit the pain is/was not bad at all, but wearing this binder 24/7 is kind of the pits. The only part that got my attention is when they pulled the drains out, other than that piece of cake. took about 6 more pounds off me...working on pics, just waiting until I get the few nylon stiches out they put in as a safety measure and some of the swelling to settle down a bit.
  14. Starting to get a bit nervous and excited at the same time. Surgery at 830 Friday morning. I am leaving tomorrow as it is a long drive for me to get there. So hopping all goes well

    Help!

At this point I would try to find myself a support group or a professional you can talk to. most of this game is changing the way we think, not just how we eat.

    Curious

You probably will not find much for information. This is mainly because everyone loses so diffrently
  18. Well good news and bad news at my pre-op appointment. The bad news was he moved my surgery date to the 21st of this month, but the really good news is I got him to look some more and explain a bit more and he basically told me what I was misinterpreting his "a little loose" comment is not what I took it to mean. After some clarification and showing me some pictures of ones he has done over his 20 years as a PS, I am ready to get this show on the road so to speak.
  19. Wow I hope mine goes that well. It may sound self centered but I just want it to look good and I am concerned they may not take enough. The Surgeon made the comment that he did not want it to be too tight, and wanted it to be a little loose so it heals well. I guess that is what is making me a bit nervous.
  20. things will be a little challenging for a short period of time. Just stick to it, things will get a lot better
  21. Congrats you have done a great job

    Is tis true...

No drain here either but I have heard of people having them. It is only to help and trapped Fluid or blood in your abdominal cavity out, this helps lower the risk of some complications for people who need to have a drain in. They are usually removed within a few days if required, from what I have been told

    Regain?

There are ways to do it. Don`t stay on plan and become a couch spud and I am sure it can happen. Keep in mind the sleeve is only a tool. If you chose not to use it, and not change bad habits it can happen.

    Pre weight loss no ambition

I guess all I can say is sometimes you have to reach down deep and push yourself. You have to motivate yourself and want this so that you can be healthier. I have had multiple knee surgeries and problems so I do understand where your at. Part of this stage of the journey is to see if you can comply with what is coming. Yes to help with the liver and other things but part of it is also to show if you can do it or not. Yes even with the weight off there are still those cold wet days where my knees are throbbing. Try to look at is as a challenge. There are also many other forms of exercising, I find an exercise bike works well on bad knee days.
  25. If you have no gallstones I would doubt that they would take it on request
