  1. Did you see a gastroenterologist before surgery? Mine prescribed amitiza. Kept things moving but i am more regular now. If fiber is not enough then you need more water or it could backfire. Good luck.
  2. I have a cup of dandelion root tea and it gets things moving. Also good for liver and kidneys.
  3. Hope you get some help for your health issues. Even if they are not caused by the alcohol your weightloss will definitely suffer eventually from the alcohol.
  4. @@ttdish that looks yummy! I love love ???? steak! I am just about 4 weeks post op and have not tried steak yet.
  5. If you experience smelly flatulence then you are not eliminating (pooping) completely according to my gastro. If i have a late protein shake then i am full of hot air in the morning. The smell never reaches my nose because i dont lift the covers. Lol
  6. I use the Genepro protein powder from amazon. You can mix it with the smallest amount of liquid or sf jello or whatever she can tolerate. It is 30 gr protein in 1 tablespoon. It is supposed to be odorless and tasteless but i can smell and taste it very faintly.
  7. If you are not comfy telling the truth just tell people you'd rather not talk about it. Never be embarrassed or ashamed of taking control of your life and health. People will always find something to talk about, you can choose not to let it bother you. After all, if they are talking they are paying attention. When it comes to the people who lie and spread your business....kill them with kindness. Hold your head high and smile often!
  8. Wow! Sounds like a nice gift for hubby. Congratulations on your mind/ body milestones.
  9. @@amber5281 my protein goal is 60+ grams a day. You may need more protein. Are you drinking all of your water as well?
  10. Actually the 1 thing I know for sure is that I get my protein. I still use powdered protein and some ready made protein shakes. I dont count any calories or measure food though. I have 3 protein drinks a day regardless of what I eat for a minimum of 90 grams of protein.
  11. You may feel sick with different types of food or drinking too much or even with different food temps. It could also be how you move or sit. I've felt sick more since returning to work my desk job. I have to get up and walk after eating.
  12. I was told it can take up to 2 years for skin to tighten. The younger you are the better off you will be. Your skin hasnt been stretched as long as mine and will still retain elasticity. You have to keep hydrated and eat right.
  13. I am 3 weeks out. I did not feel hungry the 1st couple of weeks but now i get pains. I feel like they are hunger pains but not sure because they happen more after I've eaten. Maybe im not eating enough or my sleeve is not pleased.
  14. I love candy! Im staying away. Im only 3 weeks out and i tried it. Put a small taste of chocolate on my tongue and felt sick. I think it was all in my head since im not supposed to have it. I wll not be buying or giving out candy. We dont get enough kids to even bother.
  15. I dont count or measure. I am only 3 weeks out and still doing soft foods and purees along with protein and water. I will see my Nut in a couple of weeks and will follow whatever she says.
  16. There is a big gastric sleeve book on this site with dietary guidelines and its also online. I can't figure out how to add the link. The first few days after surgery i was on clear liqids: broth. Sf jello. Clear protein drink. Days 4-13 full liquids: add pureed foods and cream soups, yogurt and pudding along with water and protein. Days 14-20 were mushy foods. Add scrambled eggs, tuna salad and ricotta and similar foods along with protein and water. Days 21 soft foods and add regular foods as you tolerate them. Protein first always. Water. And vitamins. Those were instructions from my surgeon.
  17. Check into Obamacare before you drop your current coverage. You may not qualify if you qualify under another plan.
  18. I was sleeved on 9/30 and since being on soft foods i also struggled. It happens. We need to get back on track. Focus on your protein and water and consult your nutritionist. Good luck!
  19. Sorry to hear that. I have not had that issue.
  20. Sorry about your diagnosis. Congratulations on your weightloss. Yay you for having such a positive attitude! I'll be praying for you.
  21. I was on edge waiting for ins approval but when i finally got it 2 days before surgery i was emotional. I was realizing that what i was waiting and working for was gonna happen. No turning back. Your relationship with food is about to change. Good luck with everything.
  22. I lost weight while still struggling with the liquid diet. I had 3 protein shakes daily while eating crap in small portions. I lost a few lbs a week. If you are gaining while dieting you may not be getting enough calories or water.
  23. Go in to the clinic. Ask how many patients ahead of you and when they will send your papers in. Your approval from ins is only good temporarily so they may be waiting to send in your papers based on the number of clients ahead of you.
  24. Congratulations! I'm only 2 weeks out so I'm not there yet.
