  3. I can't believe tomorrow is the day!! Finally going to happen. Anyone else having Dr Bestoun Ahmed perform fiber surgery?
  4. Good luck and best wishes. My surgery is tomorrow!! Can't believe it's finally here. Not nervous yet. Still kinda surreal. I'm sure my nerves will kick in about the time I'm getting to put my lovely hospital gown on. Lol. Hope you all do well. Praying for fast recovery and minimal pain. See y'all on the losers bench.
  5. Best wishes!! Keep us posted on your recovery. Only a couple more days!!
  6. My surgery date is 2/29/16. I'm so excited. Best of luck to you all out there!!
  7. Thank you all so much!! I don't have a sore throat or a fever. Barely just starting a little cough. I'm keeping the fluids in as mentioned. I don't think it's anything bronchial. So I'm hoping and praying there's nothing to stress over. I'll take it day by day Thanks again everyone !!
  8. I'm hoping since I start my pre op diet on Monday that it will be ok and they won't cancel surgery. Please help.
  9. Representing Baker County here. Lol
  10. I am not too far from Jacksonville. It's great to read all the inspiring posts. I've noticed that it's been awhile since anyone has posted. How is everyone's journey going? I also have Dr. Ahmed as my surgeon. I don't meet him again till February 3rd though. I still have a pulmonary clearance as well as 2 nutrition classes before then. Hope all is doing well. Best wishes! Great group here!
  11. Does anyone have info or advice to share concerning the whole process with AvMed?
  12. I'm hoping when I see my surgeon on the 3rd that will maybe also be when I start the pre op liver shrink diet? Any thoughts on if this may be the case? I'm hoping the 18th will be a target date, as that's my birthday. ???????? what a way to celebrate life... By actually getting it back!
  13. I'm in month 3 of the 6 month process requirement for insurance. I'm scheduled to see my surgeon on February 3rd. I'm thinking that will be when we send in all my paperwork to insurance company. It's exciting yet a little stressful having to wait, and go through the appointments. But it does give us time to learn all we can about what will continue to enable us to be on a journey of life changes.
  14. Hi, I too have wondered about the plastic surgery part. Although I don't have a surgery date, I'm still doing the required 6 month clearance. I don't see my surgeon again till February 2016. With my surgeon, when I started this journey, has set a pre surgery weight of 250. At the time I was 264. I'm already at 254, and doing well. I have Avmed and am in Florida. I'm 43 and am looking forward to this wonderful tool to help me get healthy and stay that way. I wasn't sure if insurance covered the tummy tuck and all the other areas that will need tightened. That's great if it does! I sure hope mine does. Yes, I'm a newbie and wanted to say hello, this is my first post. I have enjoyed reading all the experiences and hope to continue this journey with you all. Best wishes in whatever part of this journey you are at. ????????????
