  1. I used to stand at the sink and drink three cups of water in one go. I never thought drinking water could be so difficult! I am constantly reminding myself to always have a drink in my hand.

    Pre op diet...

It is hard, but sort of a bit exciting too as you know you are on your way

    VSG vs Gall Bladder Removal

I had my gall bladder removed at the same time I had my VSG six weeks ago. The first two days I was very sick with nausea and pain. My gall bladder was in very poor condition and infected so I was given high levels of antibiotics which the surgeon thought would have contributed to the nausea. By day 4 I felt human again and just continued to improve from there. I was in hospital for three nights.

    I was bad this weekend

It actually sounds like you did really well.
  5. Great work Sugabear. Watch a great accomplishment.
  6. I use myfitnesspal to log all of my food. With water, I always drink from a 600ml bottle so it is easy to count how much I am drinking. I am five weeks post op and I can now gulp my water so it is much easier to hit my quota. How are your energy levels? I was still a bit tired up to three weeks after surgery.

    It's official 100 Lost

Oh wow, what a huge loss. Congratulations!!!
  8. You sound like you are doing great. There is no way I could have posted the day of surgery. I was still rolling around moaning and vomiting.
  9. Best of luck Ifrit. I hope it goes very smoothly and you recover well.

    So excited! 7months out

You look fabulous. You must have worked very hard. Congratulations.
  11. SleevePerry - you look amazing. A huge transformation! And big congrats on the running. That must feel amazing.
  12. Smileygal - I work full time and have two little kids. My husband works nights so is at work in the mornings and asleep when we get home from work/school. I try and get as much exercise into my commute as possible. I walk to a station further than the closest to home which gives me a 20 minute walk each way, but I only added about 10 minutes of travel time. I have also started Jillian Michael's beginner shred that I can do at home once the kids have settled.
  13. Good luck to you both with the optifast and a fast post op recovery
  14. That is great news. The IV and sips will keep you going until you start to feel better which I hope is only a day away.

    16 weeks Post op

That is phenomenal. You look like a different person. Your friends and family must be blown away. Any funny stories to tell?
  16. I was in hospital for three days getting IV fluids, so fortunately I didn't have to worry about Fluid intake. I couldn't stomach anything but ice for the first two days. What you are experiencing is how I felt too. Day 3 was better, day 4 I felt like I improved massively, almost back to 100%. Give your surgeon a call, but hang in there, it will get better soon.

Maybe it helped your nausea subside?

    ER visit

I was given a gastroenteritis diagnosis. I knew it wasn't right as the pain was ridiculous. It turned out to be gallstones and I had my gallbladder removed when I had my VSG. It was an ultrasound that picked it up.
  24. Newnetty - how is your preop diet going? I hope you are doing ok.
