bjc1971 reacted to freelee in PB2 Who Knew?
I am 11 months out of RNY bypass and have done well. About 5 months ago my nut suggested PB2. I bought it, tasted it dry, and never opened it again. Yesterday, at work, someone on WW was talking about it and said you add two tbsp. to one tbsp. of Water and mix! I ran home and read the fine print, and there it was! Mixed it up, tasted it, and very tolerable! I can substitute it for the real thing and lots less calories and fat!!
Now my only problem will be finding ways to eat it without doing it just for an excuse to eat the carbs that might go with it! (carbs are still my nemesis). I know some will suggest apples (25 good carbs), but I need to stay away from the bread and pretzels..............anyone have suggestions on how to use this now that I've refound it? (not In smoothies, please).
I'd love to know how others are using it? How is the chocolate version?
    Thanks,
    Freelee

The shrink for my psych eval said she uses this forum and with exercise tips she's shrinked the chin skin. [emoji1]
    Are you doing neck exercises?

My sister had a gobbler after she had surgery she's 15 years in. Don't agree with everybody else as the years have gone by hers shrunk to where it looks pretty good. I lost a hundred thirty pounds before in 2013 and I didn't get any hanging skin anywhere if I have really good elasticity I've always been complimented by my skin I'm 56 years old and you couldn't tell so I think it depends on your elasticity.

No more bath sheets! Regular bath towels keeps it all covered just fine. It's good to know the inches are coming off even though I'm stalling.

Treat your postop diet restrictions like any other prescription medication. If you had an infection, you'd take your antibiotics. If you were diabetic, you'd take your metformin or insulin. In this case, you just had a large portion of a major organ removed. Following your surgeon's instructions to a T is simply the prescription you need in order to heal without complications.

Diet pills are not the answer. Figuring out why you're letting yourself eat crap foods or binging (you don't really say what your issue is) means you are facing a control/willpower issue. You still have the restriction so it's just a matter of getting that control back. You can do this!
You should try going back to basics: Protein, veggies and complex carbs and getting in a minimum of 64 oz of Water. There is even a 5 day pouch reset that mimics the food stages from the beginning that can help clear out the simple carb cravings if you've been eating way too much of that (because the more you eat, the more you want to eat of that crap).
    http://5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html
If you are dealing with triggers like stress that are causing you to weaken, then address that as well. If it is seriously an issue then it might be a good idea to find a counselor to help you find non food ways to feel better and to work away from binging and eating foods as self-medication.
Go back to tracking every bite, every sip. Get back into doing regular exercise if you've stopped. Recognize that you have to be accountable for your role in this, and use the tool you were given instead of trying to find a short cut (like pills). You'll be much better off than screwing up your metabolism with crap stuff like diet pills or crash diets.
And stop bringing bad foods into your house or eating out at bad places. If you don't have the bad stuff in front of you or easily accessible, then you won't be as likely to eat it.

Finally feeling comfortable and confident in heels!
I've had this pair for 3 years and never had the confidence to wear them. I'm 5'10 without them and stand out regardless. I never wanted the added attention from heels. And I'm clearly more outdoorsy typically (lol I need to move the mountain bike and canoe paddles).
Now heels are an everyday thing with work, and it's so amazing to feel confident rocking them!

I have been having my friend at work take my measurements each month. She started a week after my surgery. We just did my third measurement I have solidly been losing inches and. E has me read off the original inches first. You have never seen someone so excited at my progress.
I know that some might find the next thing she said as "wrong" but it made me laugh at her excitement and unbridled happiness at my progress. She said a few times that "this was the best game ever. I am a big winner with each and every measurement". It is nice to see the inches come off and to have such positive and engaged friends in my journey.

I get myself massages to reward myself. I have donated a LOT but I also tossed out a lot of my 3x and in fact kind of wished I had burned them. Nice suits and stuff I donated and I did keep a couple of pairs of "before" pants purely for illustrative purposes when I reach my goal[emoji41]

I told Chritinamo7 about my NSV on Mothers' Day, Dub, so I'll share it with you now.
My daughter and I were going through my mothers hope chest in the attic on Sunday. In there were all of the baptismal gowns and my wedding gown. Talk about ancient!!!
After much whining and pleading I tried it on. I don't know which was more wrinkled--the gown or my skin, but the NSV was ---IT WAS TOO LARGE!!! The last time I wore that gown was 44yrs ago this month. I only fit into it because I went on a "starvation" diet for weeks before my wedding. Wow! Wrinkled or not, it felt good. First time in a long time---I felt----really happy. Simple feeling shouldn't be soooo hard to accomplish. I had almost forgotten how good it feels just to be happy. I may try it more often.

I'm glad to be around to post...........'being around' wasn't a safe bet a year ago. Comorbitities were piling up and dragging me down.
I'm grateful and trying to set things up so I can do a better job for the next half of my life.

I would suggest Old Navy, if you keep a check online, there is usually a good percentage off on Monday or Tuesday... Later in the week there is a percentage off but usually not as high. Think that store sounds perfect for all you skinny women dropping sizes so quickly

I'm only 9 months post op and not really anywhere near my goal weight yet but I just had to pop in and first say congratulations! You've done really well. Second, do you have loose skin? It's possible that you have 10-20 pounds of lose skin, maybe more depending on your age and genetics, so you may even be approaching being underweight. How do you feel? Do you have enough energy to go about your day, exercise, etc without being exhausted? Are you hair/nails/skin healthy? I'm just curious, as this is something I've been thinking about a lot as I approach the low 200s and eventually into the 100s. My goal is 170, but I'm wondering if I can even get that low without first getting skin removed, especially considering my high starting weight.

Here are the basic principles that many of our programs require. It will work pre-op as well.
Eat your lean Protein first, and plenty of it. Think grilled chicken, not chicken nuggets.
Drink Water until your eyeballs float. That means wean yourself off of beverages with calories.
Don't eat anything made in a factory. That includes starchy foods such as flour, sugar, Pasta, (limit potatoes). Focus on fresh produce. Think apple instead of apple pie. Think steamed broccoli instead of scalloped corn.
Don't become part of the sofa. The human body is mechanical and designed to be in motion. If nothing else, get up and march through the house and up and down the stairs several times a day.
I lost 22 pounds pre-op following these principles. I wish you the best.
Welcome to the forum. Opinions and tact will vary, but we mean well.
