I'm pretty proud of myself. I got horrific news about 6:30 last night about the loss of a dear, sweet, wonderful person due to heroin. I don't know if you guys know this but I'm a social worker at a drug rehab in butler county. Anyway. I've been an emotional wreck but have not eaten since finding out. Normally I'd eat everything!! I'm still so devastated and a hot mess but at least I did not turn to food. I can't sleep either! But no food.

I was born in prestonsburg. Grew up in Georgetown. I went to uk and lived in Lexington for 8 years. Now I'm in Ohio. I miss Lexington everyday. Good luck!! Ps my grandparents lived in hazard all their life!!

I have BC/bs Ohio but it's an employee plan.

I'm in Ohio too and my insurance didn't require a supervised diet at all. I started this journey in August but due to other health problems (sleep apnea, kidney infections) kept getting in the way. Now I'm good to go on May 10th and I'm so excited. I didn't think it would ever happen.

I kinda wish I wasn't married and 30 having this surgery. I just know it's going to cause problems with my husband. "You never cook anymore." "We never go out." Etc.

I've tried practicing and just cannot do it. I always need about 5 sips during my meal. My surgery is May 10th. I posted on here about and a lot of people said it will be easier after surgery.

My doc said no beer. But I can have wine a year out.

I wish I could go home the same day lol. I hate the hospital. I never sleep.

I just cannot handle this. I have been practicing for a few weeks and I ALWAYS need at least 4 or 5 sips of Water while I eat. It doesn't matter what I eat. It like it gets stuck in my throat and I gag. Any ideas? TIA.

I made corn chowder with cauliflower instead of potatoes. And Greek yogurt instead of cream. It was good.

Another question. Are any of the appointments prior to surgery family friendly? My husband would like show his support and attend them with me.

Yeah. :-/ I mean it's just food. Why does it have such a hold on us?

Also trying to lose the weight I regained since starting his journey is going to be ridiculous. I wanted to be 275-270 before surgery. I got down to 285 in a few months and now I'm back up to 294. I still kept many of the basics such as eating 4 ounces protein, lots of water, no soda, trying to walk (I hurt my back really bad in December and can't really walk all that much because I have a neurological condition called drop foot that I'm dealing with.) and cut out most carbs and sugar. I've been doing this since September. And like I said lost weight at first. It seemed to all go downhill after I had that bad kidney infection in November and then stopped exercising all in December through February.

I had my gallbladder taken out in 2013 and my surgery is in May so we'll see.

What vitamins are you using?

Did you have a catheter?

When you woke up did they immediately start shoving fluids down your throat?

Molly did you have a pain pump in the hospital?
