  1. Congrats on the insurance approval. I had mine about 2 months ago. I had a small hiccup last month (supposed to have surgery on Oct. 19) but my Triglycerides were too high. I needed to get some meds to get the numbers down. Finally got the go ahead last week and started my 10 day pre-op diet within 2 days.

As for being hungry... I haven't noticed it much today. but then again, I am working so not so much. Evening seems to be the worst.

  2. I am at the same point as you!

I started with the Protein shakes and stuff yesterday and so far I feel ok, a little weak but not too bad. The worst part for me is "Prime Time" on TV. I used to sit and snack and watch my favorite shows... now I need a new routine... I'm also a bit anxious/scared because I feel like I am losing a friend... I think I will try to have a fatty food funeral to get some closure. LOL

  3. Wow I am too scared to cheat.....
I worry that my doc will cancel if I do.

In two days on liquid diet I have lost 5 pounds so that alone has been a great motivator.

I guess it has to do with will power and Mind over Matter (food that is) I have tried to occupy myself with other things instead of food.... Cleaning the house, reading a book, but I was also told that I could have all the sugar free Popsicles that I want. That has been a huge help. I feel like I am snacking but it really has no caloric repercussions.

  4. I am actually getting really excited.

My surgery is on the 12th and I started the 10 day diet today.

It almost seems to me like I am eating so much on this diet. 3 shakes a day plus 1 Soup and 1 Protein bar then 1 lowfat dairy item... along with all the broth, sugar free Popsicles, and sugar free Jello I can handle.

I don't feel like I am on a diet other than not having to chew anything.

I am a bit concerned about my blood sugar levels though without anything carb-y throughout the day.

I will keep checking my sugar.

  5. I am very excited! My surgery was scheduled for October 19th.

The hospital where I am going to have my procedure done requires a 10 day liquid fast prior to surgery . This ensures that the liver will shrink and not obstruct the surgical tools.

I start the 10 day liquid fast using prescribed Opti-Fast drinks on October 9th.

I am a little bit nervous about everything.
