Hi 2/9'ers it's been a while since we've had any activity on here but I wanted to say HAPPY 1 YEAR SURGERVERSARY. I hope that everyone continues to do great and make it to goal.
I have lost a total of 139 pounds since this journey began and 120 since the day of surgery. I have 25 pounds until goal and am looking at meeting with plastic surgeons to rid myself of this extra skin. I continue to meet my Protein goal but still struggle with Water. I workout 6 to 7 days a week and overall feel great. At times I struggle with seeing my progress but I continue to push through. How's everyone doing?

Hi TxJP congrats on the loss, I managed not to gain during the Holiday so woohooo but my scale is stuck
I think I need to increase my calories and that may do the trick, fingers crossed

Jenn sorry to hear about your foot, hope you get better soon. Congrats on the loss, you're doing amazing. Have you tried diurelex? I take 1 just about every day for relief, my scale had been stuck for a bit but finally is moving slightly I still have about 50 to go meh. Seems so far away but I know I will get there.
You're picture looks great, keep it up only 26 to go

Positive it's good to have someone (or a group) to share this with. We all struggle in some way and with support I think it will get better with time. I definitely understand the body dysmorphia thing and have just decided that it comes with the territory. Congrats on the size 4/6 that's a huge achievement, try not to be so hard on yourself

Yes, I take one daily...it's the only thing that works and is what my doctor recommended

Hi 2/9ers how's everyone? Our group is so quiet these days so today I finally admitted that I think I'm bigger than I really am, anyone else struggling with this. I was shopping and once again I picked up the bigger size, my spouse just laughs. But I also had a non scale victory, I am in a size 12 woohooo now to some this may not be a big deal to some but I have always been very curvy so I had to purchase jeans in a larger size and who would have thunk that a 12 would get over my butt and thighs

Hi Positive, you are right it does not seem like 10 months man has time flown....glad to see that you are doing well...things that I need to work on: omitting my 1 piece of candy a day and exercising consistently. I am about 50 pounds from goal and it's taking forever to get there. The weight is definitely coming off really slow.

Sorry I missed last week, this week 238.2

Laurie Protein is key, you should be getting 80 grams + per day, try increasing by adding a Protein Shake or something. When I worked out heavy my weight stopped and I started gaining, so I backed off and the scale started moving...sometimes we have to change things up and trick our bodies
-
Hi Laurie, remember everyone's journey is different and 58 pounds is a loss, so it's great...why do you think your doing something wrong? What are you eating and drinking, how many calories/protein/carbs and are you exercising? Stay the course and know that support is here, let me know how I can possibly help
JennsJourney congrats on 112 pound loss and being close to onderland, that is awesome. I hadn't been losing hair previously but have started losing some and as it is with everyone, it's alarming. I am doing OK, I wish the scale would consistently move but she does what she wants. I went out of town this weekend and managed to not gain any weight so yayyyy there. I am practicing my patience skills and just going with the flow of this journey

I just have to say that I am loving the dialogue on this board, please keep it going

Hi Blizair and welcome, I had to speak as my wife is a native New Orleans resident and that's our second home major congrats on the 88 pound loss and upcoming surgery. You have done very well and will continue to do well on this journey. I had my surgery in February, so I am post-op so feel free to ask any questions via this board or messagingHi everyone,
I came across this post and thought I would say hello. I am a 40yo gay guy living in New Orleans with my partner of 7+ years. I have been on this weight loss journey since March, and, as of today, I have lost 88 pounds. My surgery is scheduled for September 28.
My story is in this post: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/375695-thoughts-after-my-six-month-nutrition-program/
I wrote that last week when I made my first post. Since then, I had my clearance-for-surgery appointment with my PCP (all my labs were in the normal range!!), and she assured me that the surgery is the way to go to finish the job I have started, and that my pre-op weight loss won't affect my post-op weight loss. My surgery was approved and scheduled, and my short-term disability claim for work has been initiated. It has been a busy week!
Hearing about everyone else's experiences is making getting ready for my surgery and the second half of this weight loss journey a lot easier!
I hope to hear from some of you.

Man thank you so much. I have been doing 2 premiere Proteins a day, but they're wayyyyy to sweet. Chicken broth is wayyyy to salty. Lol. I am making do with Water and Jello sugar free pudding. Went to Starbucks and got a peach green tea lemonade unsweetened. Best thing ever. I'm doing good with getting at least 64 ounces of Fluid, but the sweet protein - yuck.Taxudown- I lived on Isopure Protein, Premier Protein, chicken broth, Popsicles ..... Because I got bored with regular chicken broth I started purchasing ramen noodles and drinking the broth only....I also would have Tomato Soup from time to time....hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questionsHave you tried unflavored protein? I use GENEPRO almost every day, it's 30 grams per tablespoon and has no flavor. I add a scoop in Decaf coffee, I also use it in SF pudding..I purchase mine on Amazon. One way to cut the sweetness on the premiere is by adding it to cold decaf coffee, with a few pumps of SF Torani Syrup. With the chicken broth, are you getting low sodium? Our taste buds change so drastically after surgery but I promise it gets easier everyday
I ordered and got the genpro. Tried it today - glad you suggested it. I put it in my Crystal lite raspberry lemonade. It's the best.

so glad that you got it and more than anything like it. That little container will become one of your best friends. One of my fave ways to use for sweet cravings is with sugar free banana cream pudding. I use the Genepro, pudding and fat free fair life milk (which has 13 g of protein per cup) and have a great protein filled snack or meal

Hey there Positive and 2/9 ers time does fly when you're having fun....major congrats Positive on your success, new job and all of the wonderfulness going on in your life.
I'm about 20 pounds away from my personal weight goal and I will say the scale definitely is only inching. I am in that leaning out stage so according to everyone else I look super small but I just haven't met the number I desire. I continue to love this journey and all that it has done for me.
