Congrats on the 32 pound loss TxJP - my appetite is non existent as well and tuna was not my friend when I tried it. Tomato soup was fine but I haven't had any on this phase. I don't love protein shakes but have been able to meet my protein goals without them - so sorry you miss salsa, I miss sushi lol

Happy St. Patty's Day[emoji256][emoji891] yep no beer booo lol but Green water will be better on my figure [emoji16] Positive- you have to remember that this is not a diet, it's your new life. It's all very new to us but the process will get easier and you will go back to some type of normalcy just with a smaller tummy and healthier habits. Keep doing what you are doing and reap the results but no stressing over any of this because we will all get through it successfully [emoji16]

    Dating

I would go and order a non alcoholic drink and if he asks just say that you're not an alcohol drinker and move on with the date - it shouldn't be a big deal or you can make a different suggestion and let him know upfront that you're not a drinker- personally, I would probably just go to the place he chose and keep it moving Have Fun [emoji16]

Everything that you're eating are the easier digestive foods in my opinion, so I don't think it's abnormal that you can eat a little more or faster - now if you said you can eat a 4 oz chicken breast, that would be a different story [emoji16]

I can drink more and faster but my eating is about the same - what r u eating
  6. Jeanette no worries for not responding I am doing pretty well overall, currently on the soft food stage and down about 27 since surgery and 46 since the pre-op diet I too at times get a stuck feeling but I believe it's my full sign, when I have the feeling I will stick a couple of dissolvable gas x strips on my tongue and it seems to help

    Coffee and protein?

I was a major coffee/caffeine drinker and now that I am coffee free I have been able to satisfy my cravings by taking the chocolate premier protein shake ( the entire bottle) and a cup of decaf with a tablespoon of sugar free caramel and shaking it over ice, it is very tasty - another option is to take fair life 2% milk and heat it in a milk frothier, I use 8 oz and 8 oz of decaf along with a tablespoon of sugar free caramel- this is a hot tasty latte and it has 13 grams of protein - hope this helps

Positive- I've been trying to avoid protein shakes and get my protein from the foods that I'm allowed. Sorry they are giving you issues. A protein bar sounds great but I don't think I'm allowed yet [emoji57] hopefully all goes down well

Iamsafe - I'm trying to get back to running also, congrats on 3.72 miles that's awesome. I think I would die if I waited 6 weeks to weigh in lol - you are doing amazing, you went from a 4x to a l/Xl in 4 weeks, wow. My clothes are fitting lose but nothing that major Positive- an 8 is a good goal. I really don't have a clothing size, but 10 sounds good [emoji16] I'm shooting for 175 right now

Hi 2/9ers Happy Monday [emoji16] I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. MXKitty that cake and ice cream looks great, how did you enjoy the protein mug cake? Positive - congrats on successfully making it through your work trip. It's great that you were able to stick to your plan with all of the temptations that were in front of you. I'm glad that you're excited about your weigh in, I wasn't so happy about mine. I haven't touched a scale in a week and I'm down a whole 3 pounds. I'm glad the scale is moving but I expected more. A friend suggested doing a once per month weigh in so that I don't get so discouraged but I don't think I can do that. So how's everyone's weight loss and has anyone incorporated exercise that is more than walking? What food stage is everyone on?

MxKitty - thanks for sharing a day in your tummy [emoji16] and HAPPY DAY OF BIRTH [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322][emoji322] I hope that you did something fantastic Slimtrimshel- congrats on the 27 pound loss that is fantastic Elsavador - have you tried the syntrax matrix protein powder? I think they are 23 or 25 grams of protein and you mix with water ( they are fruity flavors) What food phase is everyone on? And is everyone feeling normal again? I am a purée and move to soft on Monday. Have been scared to try much because of the acid reflux so I still drink about 2 shakes a day. I am starting to feel like myself again, still some discomfort in my side but only when I over due it [emoji16]

ElChris - I made to almost 2 oz last night and was so stuffed that it hurt. I did mashed potatoes last week and added a scoop of protein powder but decided not to do any this week because my carb intake was higher than I wanted. Hopefully our scales will move this week. Although I am not at fluid goal daily, I find poweraide zero to be my go to, I drink a 20 oz bottle a day-water tastes so gross to me now and I tried adding mio and almost hurled. It's crazy how our tastebuds have changed MxKitty - I can't even imagine getting in 75 grams of protein, you are doing awesome. What's a typical food day like for you? That tartar sauce sounds yumm, I may have to borrow your recipe [emoji16] I'm with you the scale is lucifer, I was so sad this morning when I went to step on it and my wife had hidden it and refused to bring it out before Monday grrrr - well I asked so I guess it's my fault. Hopefully the weekly weigh in will make me more appreciative of my progress

Good Morning February 9ers well no weigh in this morning because my wife hid the scale until Monday [emoji22] I was obsessing and getting discouraged. As of yesterday I was down 19 pounds since surgery and 39 since the journey began, which I am happy for but not happy at the scale being the same number for 3 days. I don't want to rush it but I guess somewhere in the back of my head I expected overnight success [emoji51] How's everyone else doing? Is everyone able to get in all of their protein and fluids? Also curious anyone who is eating fish, how many ounces are you able to get in? I am able to get in protein for the most part but struggling with fluids. HAPPY TUESDAY

Positive - I usually try to have a shake or a Greek yogurt. No one questions it because it just seems like I am watching what I'm eating. I think you will be able to eat with your team in the future. Once we have our food and protein under control, I think it will become easier. New day - I am missing salads also. I miss making my yummy homemade salad dressings [emoji57] but sooner than later we will be on salads again

    2/9 Surgery Date Team

Happy Sunday 2/9ers hoping everyone had a fabulous weekend. So I had my first hang out night since surgery and I survived. I wasn't tempted to try any food that's not on plan or alcohol I survived and no one payed attention to me not eating much. How's everyone doing? I decided to start weighing on Mondays only because the scale is starting to give me anxiety. My wife asked if I'm looking to lose 50 pounds a day or something lol - that's not it, I'm just impatient (slightly) and want all the weight to melt off as I sleep hahahahha Slimtrimshel- I am going to look for those Protein shots. It's a great idea and shouldn't be tooooo filling on those days when short on protein SuzzyQ- you are definitely getting in more protein than I am but I also take b-12 and my multi Vitamin everyday, which seems to help with energy. I think we all are really tired initially, your body just went through a major shock but I would definitely suggest trying to do some minor walking (even if you don't want to) TxJP - acid reflux has been an issue for me since starting puréed, it actually has made me do more Protein shakes because of the fear of that feeling. When I called my surgeon they told me to take nexium twice per day in addition to my Protonix and I will pop a few gas x strips. The nexium does take a few days to kick in but it has helped some. I never had acid reflux either but did have a hernia repair so this was definitely not expected. Surgeon says it should go away within a month and the pills will no longer be needed, hopeful Iamsafe69- congrats on the weight loss and sorry about the respiratory infection. Take it easy and don't over push yourself, you will get back to running sooner than later.
  22. Hi all, I had my sleeve with hernia repair on the 9th and I must say it has been an interesting ride. I was in the hospital for about 8 hours and then I was released to go home. The first day all I did was sleep and walk, trying to release the gas that was stuck in my stomach and back. It helped but didn't remove it all. Thank God for the IV fluids because they helped keep me hydrated since I couldn't seem to get anything down without discomfort. The 2nd day I was feeling a little better but the gas was still a beast. I got in some fluids but less than I had hoped for. Today is much better, I was partially able to sleep on my side last night, which allowed for a few consistent hours of sleep. I'm on clear liquids and have been sipping Isopure, poweraide and ice chips. I'm about half way to my daily fluid goal, which is great. I can still feel the liquids when I swallow but I assume it's from the hernia repair. I'm not really having incision pains but that's due to my stomach still being pretty numb from the shot they gave me. It's so funny how smells and tastebuds change after surgery. I loved my sugar free Popsicles but can't stomach them right now and the smell of food makes me want to gag, I suppose that's a good thing. My only issues today are the gas in my tummy and back, this constant belching and this migraine that I can't kick. I do have chronic migraines and hoped I wouldn't have one since I can't take anything. So far I have no regrets just ready to feel 100% like myself again.
  23. Wow amjblui1 that is awesome 29 pounds in 9 days [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322] I'm losing but not that fast
  24. It will get better...I was tired for the first few days, are you taking b12 yet? Your tummy may not like everything so if something makes you feel funky try something else. My surgeon said focus on fluid initially because we don't want to get dehydrated, the protein intake will increase with time. Also don't push yourself, if you feel full or uncomfortable, stop Sending hugs and healing your way [emoji51]
