Hi everyone! What a year!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I was on vacation at my 1 year from surgery & when I reached my goal! Yes I reached my goal while on vacation!!! First time I didn't gain wait while on vacation!! Hooray!!! I went for my 1 year check up a couple of weeks ago. 80lb loss! All of my blood work came back good!!!! Except kidney, I need to drink more Water ! Still struggle with it! Although my doctor said I could drink Water right up to my meal, I don't have to wait 30 minutes before I eat. I still have to & will always have to not drink during meals or 30 minutes after! It flushes the food through too fast to get the nutrients you need. I can eat anything, except not too much sugar! I still have to chew my food, especially meat really well or I get that slightly stuck feeling or feel too full too soon! Sending you all hugs for helping me get through this! Couldn't have done it with out you all!! Let us know how you are doing! Your friend Terri!

@@GBLady41 So glad to hear from you!!!! Finally you get to start your journey! It has been much easier for me than I had ever dreamed! Surgery wasn't near as bad as thought! The first couple of weeks, hard because of just sipping & trying to get your fluids down. But I'm now 13 months out, reached my goal of 150, & feel better than ever! Best decision I ever made! Wishing you the best of luck & a lot of it is attitude! Be positive & do everything the dr. tells you to do because it does work & you will have the best results following their direction!!

@@anewme2015 I don't eat near 1200, probably closer to 900-1000. My loss is around a 1/2 lb a week, depending on how much walking I do if any. I don't eat much at a time like I use too. I try to quit as soon as I feel slightly full. I notice I snack more than I use to. I try to only snack healthy, but when the company is here I get into their Snacks. Not good. I bought some healthy choice fudge bars 80cal, & eat one a day, which seems to satisfy my sweet tooth. Normal, not sure yet.

@@chavonjb Good to hear from you! You look great in your picture!!! I just have 12 lbs to goal too! This is the hardest of them all! We will get there!!!

@@jjod Congratulations on meeting your goal!!! You are awesome!! what a journey!!! Love the before & after picture, you look great!!! Logging the food is something I probably should do, I have been just counting Protein while I'm still loosing, (slowly but still getting there!) I think when I reach maint. I will do as your doing! Great idea!! I had the gastric bypass & so glad I had it! both surgeries I believe are life savors!

@@anewme2015 Good Job! You are doing great! I love that your doing the combat classes & weight lifting & love it! I think that is the key, to find something in fitness that you love!!! The adkins diet I think is one of the best ones out there for us! My husband does this & is pretty close to how I eat so it works. The hard part is when we have company to stay on our regular routine. They bring chips etc. & I think I have to serve my tried & true recipes that are full of carbs etc. We live at the lake so have lots of company during the summer. Carbs are my enemy. As I right this I have a Breakfast casserole ready to go full of carbs for our company & I know I will have a little. I hope to see more updates too! It is encouraging for me!! Keep up the good work!

Update : I'm at 165 now at 8 months, well I guess now its closer to nine July 8th. 15 lb. more to go to reach my 150 goal which is where I want to be! I'm not exercising like I should. I did purchase & wearing 10 lb. ankle weights I purchased from Walmart online (5 lb. each leg) that I put on most days to walk around the house or do some leg lifts. Need to walk to get the last 15 off. I eat just about everything, I do stay away from sugar. I still only eat around a cup to cup &1/2 of food at a time. Still very glad I did it. Scares are almost gone. My arms look horrible & inner thighs. Feel great with more energy than ever!! Hope everyone is doing well!! Have a wonderful 4th of July!!!! Terri

I have people telling me all the time now when I tell them I have 20 more lbs to go, oh no you will look too thin! I don't think at 5'5" 150 (in 20 less lbs. 170 now) I will be too thin. Maybe they are trying to compliment me & saying I look great now but it does make you wonder. I'm not trying to be 125 like was in high school, or 135 at 40. I'm 60 now & don't mind keeping a little weight on. So 150-155 I think I will be fine.

@@SleeveandRNYchica @@dede0314 @@Cape Crooner You guys are doing amazing!!!! My loss is still 60 lbs, 20 more to go. I think the closer we get to our goal the slower it gets. I need to walk!

@@anewme2015 I know what you mean, snacking seems to feel better on my stomach than meats & meals which I don't seem to be able to eat much of, always go back to soft foods for me, which may or may not be the best. Greek yogurt is a staple as cottage cheese along with my daily Protein Shake with coffee. I also eat a lot of chili & Soups. Frozen 80 cal fudge bars I love! The trouble I have is we have a lot of company since we live on the lake & I'm always buying chips etc. for them! Need to stop, because what ever is left over when they leave if they don't take it, I munch on!!!! I don't like to waste sadly, the clean your plate & all the starving kids syndrome i still struggle with. Our appetites are coming back & the more you eat of carbs, sugar etc. we will want! Still a struggle!!!!!
@@kaitlynm Your weight loss has been really good!!! I think your right about the Protein, its so hard to get enough! I forget to use the protein powders in stuff & I have the unflavored! I guess I need to set it out where I can see it to remind myself!!!

Hi Ron, Your weight loss is fantastic!!!! Mine has stalled a little the last 2 months but I'm still loosing. I too have problems with headaches, mostly coming from my neck. I have noticed if I get dehydrated which I can tell when I use the bathroom I seem to have more of them. I hope the doctor finds out what is going on, headaches are miserable!

Well I went to my 6 month check up today. 177 yea. They go buy % of what you have lost.. They said they liked their patients to be at 50% at 6 months of their weight loss since surgery. I'm at 65% so they were very pleased with my progress. I don't go back until its a year. They said I should have no problem getting to my goal of 150 by then, especially if I would get back to my walking, I told them I had been slacking off! Anyway hope you all have good reports at your 6 month!

@@395Ron Hey Ron, I was wondering about that too, I have heard of some doing that but not sure what it is! Hope all your health problems are getting better! Good to hear from you!!

@@SleeveandRNYchica Your doing great! 60lbs thats 2 1/2 consistant lbs a week. I couldn't do that before surgery no matter what I did, starve etc. If your working long hours that has to keep you busier so don't push yourself too much! I find the busier I'am the less I eat!!! I wear some ankle weights I've had for years to wear under my jeans during the day to burn a few more calories. I don't remember where I got them but that might help you if you run out of time to exercise, then maybe some leg lifts while sitting. Hang in there!

@@AnnainOK Congrats on the diabetic meds! I get colder too now that I don't have as much insulation on me! We sound like we are losing about the same! I use to live in Moore & Choctaw ok left in 2007. Glad your doing well!

@@anewme2015 Well said, & I too have no problem with sweets or carbs, although I don't eat as much of them as prior to surgery. I'm considering the arm lift for plastics, but won't do anything till I'm a year out from surgery.

Well, here we are, for most of us almost to the 6 month mark! I never thought I would be under 180 again & here I'am. The last 2 months it has been a crawl for me getting here but its still coming off! I'am more active now, moving more, & feeling great!!!!! I haven't been walking like I should still!!!!! So probably why its slowed down so much. food does not control my life anymore, which sometimes I wish I enjoyed eating more than I do when we go out to eat but I just don't!!! I do get hungry when I haven't eaten in a while but is quickly remedied with a few bites of something. I still try to get my Protein in but is still a struggle. I usually don't eat much more than a cup of food at a time. My solid meats still fill me up quickly. And eating slow is still a struggle & I get that stuck feeling when I do eat too fast. I haven't had any problems with any kind of food, except things that give you gas. Gas seems to be my biggest problem so far with this surgery for me. I had refried Beans the other night & so glad I was at home. My stomach bloated out terribly. My body looks so much better in cloths now. I'm between a size 12 & 14 in pants & M & L in shirts. Out of cloths, well lets just say I won't be wearing a bathing suit. My arms are the worse, I think I could fly with these wings, inner thighs, thank-god for Spanx, & breasts, I think most women have the same problem after giving birth & age but thankful for good bras which are wonderful for this!!! So I haven't heard of a good surgery for underarms but when I do I may have something done to them, other than that it is what it is. My Hair loss has slowed down as with the weight loss. Feeling so much better now has made every sag, wrinkle & even the gas worth having the surgery. My self esteem is so much better & I feel like the old self is back!!! I hope you all are as happy with this surgery as I'am! I'm so thankful for each & every one of you! You have made it so much easier going through this! I wish you nothing but success & can't wait to hear from everyone, especially as we meet our goals!!!! Have a wonderful 6 month anniversary everyone!!

@@kaitlynm You have done so well so far, maybe your body is just adjusting to the new you, plus with all the exercising you must be building some muscle. I don't think I would worry yet, give it some more time. I know most people the nearer they get to their goal the slower it gets. Everything you are doing is what you should be doing. My surgery was Oct.9th so you have lost more than I have so don't worry, I think you are on schedule!

@@steph_anie Gosh You have done fabulous! Congratulations!!! I have slowed down my weight loss mostly because I'm not exercising like I should, my bad, need to get with it!!! Won't be long & you will have met your goal!!! Thanks for sharing!

@@WillieBradley Thank-you for the kind comment, its all of you that keep me going!! You are so close to your goal, that is wonderful!! I couldn't have said it better about how I feel about food, it just isn't the craving anymore like it use to be. Eating to live rather than living to eat is definatly the way it is for me now!! Best of luck to you!
