What did you take to hospital?
To be 100% honest...it was probably the WORST cycle I've ever had. Probably from the stress ok our bodies from the changes and surgery. It was a total nuisance and it just added an extra YUCK to everything. I had a drain in one side my belly. IV on the other hand....and huge overnight PAD because it hurt too much to bend over and put a tampon in...it was messy...yucky...plus diarrhea. Sorry girl. Just trying to prepare u so if it does happen. xoxoxo

Struggling day 7 post op
Well, in my own opinion, if you don't tell someone what they did or said was wrong and u just ignore it...then how will that person know? OBVIOUSLY what she said is going to be in this persons mind FOREVER and those are words u can't take back. So either u like what I said or dont...at the end of the day...that was MY OPINION and we are all entitled to it. ✌

How long does the pain last?
Pain will go away. My body wanted alot of sleep first couple days I was home from hospital. We all heal at different paces. Just try n get some fluids in and rest. Things do start feeling better believe it or not. I didn't think I'd ever feel better. My surgery day was 9/2.

Honestly, if you have nothing positive to say...keep ur opinions to yourself!!! We come here for encouragement and words of wisdom...not to get shut down!!! You OBVIOUSLY are overweight and that's why u needed surgery too and no one is bashing on you!! Keep ur rude opinions to urself. We all have food addiction and we all know what's right and wrong...but sometimes we just need to get up and get back on track. People like you disgust me.

Drains
SCREW THAT DRAIN!!!! I had them pump me up with anti anxiety and pain meds through IV Before I let them touch it!!! I passed out when they pulled it 2 years ago from a gallbladder removal! I can't stand that drain. I requested NOT to have one but he still did. Praying for you girl. It will be out before u know it. Think about other things while they pull it. Gosh...I hated it.

GasX and Post-Op Gas
Hello! My surgery was 9/2. While in the hospital, I asked him if in should take them...he said nope. get up and walk! so I did! and it helped SOME. I still have some pressure in my tummy and chest but it's alot better. Gas X strips really work for when bowels start moving and u feel like u have to burp or pass gas but can't! so I took one on the day I was going home and it helped and now at home...I take maybe one a day. just to keep things moving bowel wise.

These are the ONLY things I needed....chapstick, mini personal fan, undies, pajamas, non slip slippers, gas x quick dissolve strips, deodarant, pillow for ride home, smartphone (so u can check bariatric pal for questions u have) and for a female ...... pads! don't think you'll need those tho! good luck!! ????

Sleeve buddy
It will go away!! Takes some time, but I was like that too and didn't have meds for it so I slept through it. Shakes are still VERY thick for me. Hopefully not too much longer! Hang in there! ❤ Oh and today...I was able to get 20g of protein and about 45 oz of water/fluids. So it is getting easier!

Way to go! Already back at work! I have a drain in (hope it comes out tomorrow), so work wouldn't be an option yet. For sure congrats for making this decision!!!! Water and protein are both a challenge for me too. Protein is harder. We will get there and YOU GO GIRL! Back at work?! That's great!!!

That's ok because we all progress at a different speed! If you feel the need to sit...SIT girlie!! Don't push too hard. When I was at the hospital, my bowels were regular...actually more like explosive D. and then I got home and didn't go for a couple days...but it started back up! some movement is better than no movement! keep those fluids coming in! soon, we will move on to puree!

Maybe try taking in a little more protein lopez1628?? thankfully, I haven't had cravings...one friend on here said Greek plain yogurt and mix in a little sugar free strawberry cheesecake pudding powder...she says it's great! Once I can tolerate thicker substances, I'm going to try!! stay strong!

Went shopping yesterday and for the first time bought NON plus size clothes

Surgery tomorrow what to pack
Hey there. Just had my surgery 9/2 and the main things I actually used were pajamas, lots of undies, TAMPONS or PADS. Pads are much easier. My period hit the day after surgery and I had just had it 2 weeks prior. It was heavy too! Gas X quick dissolve strips, slippers with non slip tread and deodarant. Nothing else I took, I needed. Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!!

If your body wants sleep, let it have sleep! It's our way of healing. Every time you wake up, suck on some ice. ???? keeps your tongue moist!

Sleeve buddy
Yesterday, I slept almost the whole day! Probably got maybe 20 oz of fluid in. I didn't sleep all night. Fell asleep around 9 this am and woke up at 2pm. Right now, I'm feeling good. I've almost finished a 32 oz bottle of powerade and my husband went to vitamin shoppe and bought me something called Coco Protein. It's so much easier to go down then the premier protein. I actually feel a little progress today. Fortunately, I don't want to chew ANYTHING. I'm not hungry nor is my head messing with me. We got this girl!!!

Thank you so much!!! I'm going to try that next. Dietician today said not to worry as much about pudding yogurt and the thicker things...she says focus on getting fluids in. so coco protein, water and powerade zero!

Yes. lol. Is there just a plain one? According to my husband, all they had were the 2 flavors. He was out taking the dog to the vet and he stopped on his way home.

Just got some. They had chocolate and Pina colada flavor. He picked chocolate. it's not as thick as premier protein and seems to be a lil easier going down. Tastes great tho!

I have a vitamin shoppe about 5 minutes away from home. I will send my husband and have him pick up some. That sounds VERY refreshing and alot easier than the thickness of SMOOTHIES right now. Thank you! ☺

Probably not walking as much as I should. I walk back and forth to the restroom and around the house and also I take at least 1 walk around the neighborhood at night. Seeing as though I live in the desert and we are pushing 110° a day here...I try not to go out in the heat too often right now. Today, I'm going to stop the narcotic pain meds and try just the Tylenol before bed...maybe that will help. Awesome!
