Hello!! I am Renee Oliver. I am a 53 year old lady who has battled weight problems since about age 25. I am only 5'1 1/2" tall, every pound has always shown! I began gaining weight after having 4 pregnancies in 3 1/2 years with 2 healthy babies from those. My marriage was going from bad to worse and I ate my fears, stress, and pain. I decided to get a divorce 14 years into that marriage. After the divorce, I wore a size 18-20. I remarried 4 years later and have been happily married for another 16 years! Over time tho, I have gained weight. I weighed 314 with a BMI of 54 prior to beginning the pre-op diet. I'm 11 days from the gastric bypass surgery scheduled for 9/16/15. I'm down to 298 now and trying so hard to be compliant with the diet and exercise plan. It's very hard as I am having my surgery in Mexico and I have no nutritium as yet. The exercise is hardest as it hurts my knees to walk and all I have is a treadmill. I am quite determined tho, and I usually accomplish whatever I set my mind to do. I didn't go to college until I was 42 and worked my way through both The bachelors and masters degree, graduating at age 49. I then applied for a position in England and we lived abroad for a year. I have, with my husband's help, raised 5 children and we now have 12 grandchildren! My life is a good life, I have a wonderful husband and family, a great career, a lovely home- but my health and mobility are impaired by my weight and the complications my weaight brings to my life. I want to be free of yo-yo diets, diabetes, sleep apnea, and so much more. I want my life back!!! Gastric Bypass scheduled for 9/16/15!!! Even the liquid diet is worth it!!!
