  1. Hey sleevers, I had my surgery on 08-11-2015. The first week and a half I had no problems with nausea just gas and pain/soreness. Going into 2-3 weeks and I'm constantly nauseated. food is evil to me now. Any kind of food is hard to eat. Everything tastes overly sweet especially that fake sugar garbage they tell you to consume. All the Protein shakes I was made to purchase are disgusting. It's one thing if I could just chug it down but now sine my stomach is so small I have to sip on it for over an hour? Nope. So I know I'm not getting enough protein. Tried to eat more protein in diet although I'm vegetarian so it takes a bit more and being able to handle different types of foods which I can't right now in this stage of recovery. I was on zofran but caused very bad migraines. Then was put on Phenergan but pills was too chalky and made it worse to take, made me more nauseated. Tried to take some pepto bit started dry heaving and eventually threw that up. Finally got a rx patch for nausea and bought sea bands for acupressure. They have helped but it is still hard to eat anything. The nausea kicks in high gear once I start to smell the food I'm about to eat. I've been living off triscuits, mashed potatoes, and cheese. I can't even handle broth or Soups for the most part. I want to do better with my food but I'm in limbo. I drink plenty of ice Water so I'm not dehydrated. It's worse in the morning for some reason. I don't know if it'd because it has been a long time since my last meal? I stopped my nexium after the surgery. I haven't had heartburn. It's all nausea but I started taking it again to see if it's some sort of reflux issue...but no such luck yet. I don't have any other symptoms so I know it's nothing serious from the procedure. Has anyone else had this problem? How long did it last? How did you over come it? I'm at a loss. I was fine the first week then after that it's been a struggle. It's so weird. HELP!!! Sincerely, Would rather be in pain then constant nausea.

    Hunger pains?

I have been having severe nausea for over a week. I was given nausea patches. Now I have a new symptom along with the nausea, hunger pains? I eat and it still doesn't go away. Mind you its been hard to eat or drink period. So I have this horrible empty feeling in my stomach like hunger pains. I also seem to have a lot of gas as well. I was in tears when I searched the deep Web for explinations. The general consensus is that it is excess stomach acid/reflux. I'm already on Nexium. I tried taking some Tums that I had at home to see if it help....sort of not really. Has anyone else experienced this?? What did you do to get relief? It's hard for me to even function. I have left several messages for my doc and was even promised a call early this afternoon bit still nothing...help!

    Hunger pains?

Thank you all. I know it's not in my head though. I don't have a problem saying no to food. My issues with weight is related to PCOS and auto immune issues. I just want that pain to go away because it causes waves of nausea and discomfort. I don't eat more than I should but it doesn't go away when I do eat. That's what bothers me. I have an appointment on Monday for my doctor who hasn't answered my calls. I'm pretty sure it's just reflux but I just wanted to know what I can do on top of nexium. The Internet has conflicting suggestions.
  4. Anyone have any advice other than a boiled egg? I can't stand the shakes and aspartame in them as well as anything else they want to sweeten with out adding calories.

    Nausea 3weeks post-op?

I had adult Gummi vitamins along with a vitamin d gummy but then they made me buy this bariatric advantage stuff that is chalky and huge. They have a vitamin d chew..like a caramel but tastes weird. Wondering if I should just try my otc stuff for now until I can try the others again. Yeah I don't get it. It was out of no where this nausea after a period of time where everything was normal...smh

    Protein for vegetarians

Yeah I didn't think of a plain one but it would make things much easier. Gotta finish what I bought first though so I'll try watering it down some. My doctor gave me a patch to wear but still have issues even though it helps some. Mmmm lettuce wraps sound good!

    Nausea 3weeks post-op?

Have you been able to take your vitamins? That's another thing that's hard is getting the vitamin tablet down. It's chewable but so huge and chalky.

    Nausea 3weeks post-op?

Yeah I think I messed up on the flavor I had its more melon than apple. I'll try diluting it that may help. Thank you.

    Protein for vegetarians

I didn't know they had a flavorless one. I have a bunch of the apple melon. It's ok but still a bit too sweet. That's a good idea though thank you for the tip. I do have a nausea patch and sea bands on. I'm starting to think maybe it's something with my intestines /bowels. I dunno anymore. I miss a tempeh tomato and just mayo sandwich. ...

    Nausea 3weeks post-op?

No, haven't been active for a while even before the surgery. I have fertility issues anyway.

    Protein for vegetarians

Seitan, chickpeas, lentils, spinach, eggs, cheese but I've been having issues with nausea. I'm trying to find a protein drink or something that isn't gawd awful.
