  1. I'm 8 months out & started exercising at 6 months post op, I do light weights 2x week, bicycling every night with my kiddos for about a mile, and recently started running a mile & 1/2 on the treadmill 3x/week. I also started at 348lbs and am down to 222lbs as of this morning!! Good luck to you, and just a warning... That first bike ride is THE MOST EXHILARATING FEELING EVER!!!!!

  5. I'm 7 months post op sleeve. I STILL count my protein, still drink a double shot of protein powder in the morning with my coffee and I am still watching my hair fall out by the dozen. BUT...... I'm also watching an amazing transformation!! I'm riding bikes with my children, dressing prettier for my husband, gaining health for all of us and loving life again. I'd rather watch my protein count than watch life pass me by!! Good luck my love, just take it day by day. You'll be fine

    Disney World - Fat Friendly?

Last time I went to Disney, I was 345lbs and I'm 5'4" my hubby is 6ft and about 280. We both felt tight throughout the legs/thigh space but ok in the belly area. It was a bit uncomfortable banging around for our thighs but doable. The ride is not very long at all. Have fun!! I love Disney!

    Puréed Food

I made my family corned beef. So I took some corned beef and sweet potato, blended the bejeezus out of it, and discovered my new favorite meal! I did that and chicken, but chicken has never sat well with my sleeve. Corned beef was a lot easier on the new tummy. Good luck!

Does your lady feel safe? (what do women want?)

I don't live in fear or scared to be around men when I'm alone despite a couple of crazy incidences. I was fondled by my PCP... Yes my doctor. He felt the need to check my breasts for lumps even though I had no complaints of pain or lumps, or history of breast cancer, or my age, 30 at the time. He simply asked his assistant to leave and said he needed to "check" my breasts. I told him I didn't understand why that would be necessary as I was just there to have some papers signed off. He said if I wanted my papers signed, he would need to have a complete examination. Mind you, all my papers needed was confirmation of him being my doctor for the past year. He got what he wanted and proceeded to tell me how lovely my nipples were. Needless to say, I called a lawyer as soon as I got home and was ready to raise some hell.... He died 3 weeks later. He was 70 years old! My husband is incredible! He makes me feel safe by just being with him. He recently made some man apologize to me for calling me a bitch while in traffic! It got ugly but nevertheless the man apologized! I was also held at gun point for my car when I was 18 years old. The guy shot at me and the bullet grazed my thigh. It was very scary, luckily the dummy had the wrong bullets for the gun and after that first shot, it jammed and wouldn't shoot anymore (at least that's what the cops explained to me) Call me stupid, but despite these less-than-friendly encounters with men, I am not afraid, and hope I never will be.

  16. Ok, so I started losing hair 3 months post op. I was ok with that, as I had been forewarned plenty about that happening. It started to get very thin,so on suggestions from my hairdresser, we cut it. I have naturally curly hair. Immediately, I knew it was a mistake! It was so frizzy!!! It doesn't even curl anymore! And to top it off.., I've now developed alopecia of the eyebrows!! Doc is waiting on labwork to come in, but her suspicions are zinc deficiency? I do take a multi, calcium and 10,000mcg of biotin daily. Please vets, tell me it'll get better!! I can deal with thinning, frizzy hair but now no eyebrows??? I just woke up and they were gone?
  17. Thank you so much!!! And believe me, I've learned to tell them, I don't even weigh myself anymore, don't know don't care... That usually shuts them up![emoji23]
  18. I for one was very open about my surgery. I started at 348lbs and losing 100lbs in a couple of months would have been hard to hide. What I do hate about having people know is: 1) I'm always asked "so how much weight now" a week after I saw them last 2) so how much more are you planning on losing? 3) You're gonna have plastics right? If I could go back in time, I would not have shared with everyone. It's ultimately nobody's business. You and only you need to know what's going on in your personal life. Good luck to all of you. This has been the best thing I've ever done for me!!

Did you watch The Talking Dead afterwards?? I thought I heard them say that the shooting was so raw and real because the cast had no idea who was gonna have a date with Lucille?? How could they not have known? I was half asleep, did I hear that right?
